    The bank history began in Cluj-Napoca, 15 years ago. The entrepreneurial spirit of itsfounders led to the consolidation of Transylvania Banks position in a first stage in Cluj andthen regionally. Firstly, the bank orientated its activity towards the SME sector and due tomarket demand, it soon began to develop a retail area. In 1997 Transylvania Bank became thefirst banking institution in Romania, which was listed on the Bucharest Stock Exchange. BT

    is the largest banking institution with major Romanian capital, and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, which owns 15% of the capital, is a significant shareholder.

    Since 2002, Transylvania Bank has a modern management with international know-how that,that gave the bank a different style, characterized by openness and flexibility. Another important moment for the bank was 2003, when it changed its corporate identity under its newmissions. Re-branding meant changing the banks logo, also implementing a new standardconcept regarding its units.

    A priority of its activity is the continuous improvement of services and employees, so itsquality is the one that makes the difference.

    In addition, Transylvania Bank means a strong financial group, Transylvania Bank FinancialGroup, which offers integrated market services - banking, investments and management,consumer finance, leasing, securities transactions, factoring, private pension - through itscompanies: BT Asset Management SAI SA, BT Direct, BT Leasing, BT Securities, BT FinopLeasing and factoring company.

    Transylvania Bank is structured into four business lines: retail, SME, Corporate andPhysicians Division. The bank has formed special teams and a complex portfolio of productsand services to support the development of these three directorates. Transylvania Bank hasabout 1,400,000 active customers.

    Transylvania Bank is present in all major economic centers in Romania, with over 500 branches and agencies. Transylvania Bank benefits of a performant and centralized computer system, which offers the customers, as a main advantage, the possibility of accessing thecurrent account of any unit in the country.Transylvania Bank has shown that, with the support of its shareholders and its developedambitious plans, the bank became a powerful one, more open, flexible and modern.

    Transylvania Bank team includes 5,000 people who work in nearly 370 locations all over thecountry and at the Head Office in Cluj-Napoca. Parallel with the dynamism of the bank and

    regional network development, approximately 2,500 people were employed in January 2006 -April 2007 period, being achieved an average of 150 jobs per month.

    The personnel policy of Transylvania Bank has as main objective to attract and retain the bestteam of specialists. The 5,000 employees have the benefit of having modern conditions for their activity, modern equipment, and also access to information. The wage policy consists,

    besides the actual income, of performance bonuses and other bonuses. To motivate the banksemployees, once a year it takes place the activity evaluation, depending on the grade earned,is being given awards and wage raises and, if necessary, and in some cases are determined job

    promotions.
