This is also an ideal time to consider life insurance as well as long term care coverage. Providers will be conducting information sessions to address questions. The initial launch will focus on compliance training, including Civilian Response to Active Shooter and Employee Safety and Disaster Awareness, both required of all employed by the Commonwealth of Virginia per the Governor's January 2020 communication. In October, the updated TItle IX/Policy 1025/VAWA (Violence Against Women Awareness) training will be made available via the new learning system. Virtual Fast Track for New Supervisors Launched to help supervisors and managers build the core competencies of leadership, this course guides participants through Leading Self, Leading Others, Leading Teams, Leading Strategically, and Leading Intentionally. Preparing for Evaluation Discussions Employee Relations has released guidebooks for both employees and supervisors to prepare all parties for a value added conversation. Hokie Wellness Flu Shot Clinics Click here for details on dates and locations. COVID-19 RESOURCES Face Covering Guidance All members of the VT community are required to wear face coverings. Those who are medically unable to wear a mask or shield should contact the ADA & Accessibility Office to initiate a request for accommodation. More information on the university's expectations can be found here. Protocol for Illness/Exposure If you are experiencing symptoms of covid-19, stay home and contact your physician or the Virginia Department of Health (540.267.8240). Be certain to notify your supervisor or manager. If you believe you were exposed to covid-19 (i.e., within 6 feet of infected individual for more than 15 minutes), contact your physician or the Virginia Department of Health (540.267.8240) for further instructions. Also alert your supervisor or manager to discuss viable work options. In either scenario, HR and, potentially, EHS will be notified to advise on leave options as needed and begin contact tracing. Covid Hotline - 540.231.7600 Virginia Tech has launched a helpline and call center for all students, staff, and faculty who have specific questions or concerns related to the pandemic.
