According to the final statement, for the past fiscal year (July 1st, 2017 to June 30th, 2018) there were 23,642 USD as Net Assets for All Global Health Funds. That included 17,301 USD Council Designated Net Asset at the beginning of the year (Net Assets at the Beginning of the year), 7,026 USD in income (mostly from Global Health Dues, 6,880 USD) and 685 USD in expenses (mostly from e-ballot, 617 USD). c. CHARTER OF THE ASTMH COMMITTEE ON GLOBAL HEALTHObjec ves• The ASTMH Commi ee on Global Health (ACGH) is

organized under the auspices of the American Society of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene (ASTMH) and has the following objec ves:

• To promote the development of the fi eld of Global Health which addresses mul disciplinary transna onal approaches to health issues that unfavorably aff ect underserved and under-resourced popula ons.

• To educate about global health issues inclusive of and in addi on to ASTMH’s tradi onal purview of tropical medicine and hygiene through pre-courses, workshops, symposia and abstract presenta ons

• To foster collabora ons between individuals and groups that address global health issues

• To facilitate dissemina on and publica on of global health research

• To provide recruitment opportuni es for individuals interested in pursuing a career in global health.

• To serve as a representa ve voice from ASTMH in other Global Health organiza ons, socie es and working groups.

• To recogni e outstanding contribu ons in Global Health

Mee ngsThe ACGH will meet at least annually under the aegis of the ASTMH Annual Mee ng.

MembershipMembers in good standing of ASTMH who wish to join ACGH may do so by paying subgroup dues in accordance with rates set by the ACGH Execu ve Council. ACGH will establish a fund for voluntary dona ons to be managed by ASTMH. Funds collected on behalf of ACGH from sources such as dues, voluntary dona ons, etc. will be managed by ASTMH and used for ac vi es that further the objec ves of ACGH, including recep ons, annual awards, fellowships and interna onal training opportuni es, and payment of page charges in the American Journal of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene for qualifying ar cles (e.g. editorials, topical

reviews, symposium proceedings, cu ng-edge papers, etc.).

GovernanceExecu ve CouncilThere will be elected leadership in the form of an Execu ve Council consis ng of a President, President-Elect, Past President, Secretary- Treasurer and four Councilors. Any ac ve member in good standing is eligible for elec on to offi ce. The ini al leadership of the Commi ee on Global Health will serve for a total of 18 months.

The President-Elect and President will each serve terms of one year in succession. The Secretary-Treasurer and Councilors serve terms of two years. Terms of offi ce begin at the close of the annual mee ng at which the offi cers were declared elected. All members of the ACGH Execu ve Council are allowed to vote on Council business. Council members may run for and serve consecu ve terms.

The President serves as chief execu ve offi cer for the ACGH and presides over mee ngs of the ACGH Execu ve Council and the ACGH annual business mee ng. The President may fi ll vacancies among the Councilors by appoin ng Councilors from the membership to serve un l the missing Councilor returns to offi ce or through the remainder of the absent Councilor’s term, if return to offi ce is not possible. If the Secretary-Treasurer is unable to complete his/her term, the President will appoint a replacement from the membership to serve un l the next annual mee ng when a new Secretary-Treasurer will be elected.

The President-Elect presides over mee ngs of the ACGH in the absence of the President. If the presidency becomes vacant, the President-Elect will serve out the balance of the President’s unexpired term before going on to complete his/her originally- scheduled term as President.

The Secretary-Treasurer of the ACGH works with the Secretary- Treasurer of ASTMH to monitor the Commi ee’s fi nances and to develop its annual budget. The ACGH Secretary-Treasurer, ACGH President, or person determined by the ACGH President maintains minutes of the ACGH Execu ve Commi ee and annual business mee ng and compiles reports on ACGH ac vi es for presenta on to the ASTMH Council as requested.

Elec onsThe ACGH Execu ve Council appoints a nomina ng subcommi ee consis ng of fi ve ac ve members. No more than three of those members may be current members of the ACGH Execu ve Council. A slate of candidates for offi ces to be fi lled at the next annual mee ng will be distributed to ACGH members by mail and/or electronic mail no later than

two months prior to the next annual mee ng. Members may submit themselves or suggest other ac ve members as candidates to the Chairman of the nomina ng commi ee, but the nomina ng commi ee will not be obligated to put such individual(s) on the slate unless there is a suppor ng pe on from three ac ve members in addi on to the individual proposed.

Elec on for each offi ce shall be by secret mail and/or electronic mail ballot and determined by majority vote (or by the greatest number of votes if more than two candidates). Results of vo ng will be announced in the ASTMH newsle er and at the next ACGH annual business mee ng.

Subcommi eesSubcommi ees may be formed to deal with important issues such as awards, pre-course development, fundraising, career opportuni es, interfacing with the American Journal of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene, and planning of ACGH-supported symposia and workshops at the ASTMH annual mee ng. Members of the ACGH are encouraged to apply to par cipate on the Global Health Scien fi c Program Commi ee, following Society guidelines for par cipa ng on the Scien fi c Program Commi ee.
