Membership of The Association of Freight Software Supplierscontinues to grow with a further two members joining theAssociation since the publication of the Directory last year.

In addition to our new members, ‘CHAMP Cargosystems’and ‘My Visibility Tool’, our affiliation with EurTradeNet (ETN)continues and the close collaboration between AFSS andETN remains strong since the affiliation started in 2014.

Once again this year the 2017 Members’ Directory highlightsthe diversity of software and systems provided by membercompanies throughout the industry. The Directory hasbecome a regular source of reference for those companiesproviding software and systems to the freight and logisticsindustry. Many AFSS members have a long and wellestablished business understanding of what is required fromboth their existing and new customers. We would like toespecially congratulate one members of AFSS, Albacorewho celebrate 25 years established in the industry this March.

AFSS remains active in meeting with HMRC and OtherGovernment Departments in this coming year. Naturally keyto these discussions will be the impact on trade followingthe decision for the UK to leave the European Union. Whilstthis presents a number of challenges to our members, manyare also required to introduce changes required for theUnion Customs Code Transitional arrangement whichbecame effective from 1st May 2016 through to 2020 oruntil we leave the EU.

We continue to represent our membership at the mainconsultation groups within the Joint Customs ConsultativeCommittee, the various Sub Groups and Working Groups.We also maintain strong links with British International FreightAssociation (BIFA), The International Air Transport Association(IATA) and all of the Community Service Providers (CSPs.)AFSS also has good links with other Government Departmentsand many of the UK Trade Organisations.

The Association of Freight Software Suppliers has beenactively involved in many new initiatives since it wasfounded in 1993. As a result of its historic contribution tothe development of the Freight and Logistics industry ithas become an important point of contact for both UKGovernment Departments and EU Organisations.

Membership is open to any company providing software orrelated services to companies within the fields of freight,transportation, warehousing and international trade.Members are required to follow the guidelines contained inour Code of Conduct.
