Living the Amish way

Simple clothes, mostly hand made, dark fabric is common

Displays obedience to the church & conformity to the society

Believes that modest apparel is an expression of humility and faith

No buttons, because they think its decorative and fancy

Solid color shirts for men, long dresses for women. Men also wear hats.

Many aspects of Amish dress are based in scripture, such as rules that

govern head coverings for men and women.

Restriction on higher education

Amish people don’t believe in higher education

Most of them, at maximum, appears up to 8th grade

No specialized education/training to enhance their potential

People not conforming to the system can be shunned

Dependent on agriculture for earnings and food

Most of the technological usage is rejected Some uses in agriculture remain that benefits the whole Society

Dissociation from modern technology

They don’t use automobiles

Most of the people don’t have communication devices, such as cellphones

No use of electricity

Disconnected from the news covered by media and other mediums

No internet!
