Senator J. William Fulbright Senator J. William Fulbright is the first founder of the law on education and cultural exchange in United States which was legalized in 1946.

Mission and Vision: Mission and Vision: to promote mutual understanding between the United States and other nations through the education and cultural exchange activities.

More than 200.000 participants of 130 countries have participated in Fulbright program.

In Indonesia: In Indonesia: Since 1952 the number of participants granted the scholarship has reached 2000 Indonesian and 900 American scholars.

The American Indonesia Exchange Foundation (AMINEF) is pleased to announce the availability of Fulbright scholarships to study in the United States for the 2010 – 2011 academic year.

The primary focus of the Fulbright Program in Indonesia is to promote mutual understanding between the Republic of Indonesia and the United States of America through educational exchange and academic scholarship.

Fulbright scholarships are available to Indonesian citizens with the appropriate qualifications as stipulated in the program descriptions listed below.

Grants are competitive, comprehensive, and generally cover tuition and fees, textbook allowance, monthly maintenance, international airfare, and health insurance.

Study guides for these tests are available at Gramedia and at AMINEF . They are modestly priced (below 150,000 rupiah). Start studying NOW. Often, grantees who get in to the best schools have done this and scored well on these tests.

More importantly some grantees who are successful getting grants DO NOT get into MA or PhD programs because they have NOT studied and NOT done well on these REQUIRED tests. Then they have to reapply…..

1. Completed application form. This includes a clearly written and concise study objective

2. Copy of your most recent, less than two years old, TOEFL score report

3. One letter of reference, either from your current employer or previous lecturer

International Fulbright Science and Technology Award for Ph.D. Study at top U.S. institutions in science, technology, or engineering. The award will be competed worldwide.

Applicants must possess:

o a Bachelor and/or Master’s degree with a minimum GPA of 3.0 (on a 4.00 scale).

o Undergraduate students who will complete the degree before August 1, 2009 may also apply. o a minimum TOEFL score of 580 at the time of application. o a minimum GRE quantitative score of 700 (GRE test will be required if selected for nomination).

This research grant is intended to provide U.S. research opportunities for Indonesian university doctoral candidates who are in the final stages of writing their dissertation.

The grant duration is for a period of three to six months.

The applicant should have a minimum TOEFL score of  575 to participate in this program.

This research grant is for Indonesian scholars who have a doctoral degree or equivalent professional qualifications.

The grant affords Indonesian scholars the opportunity to conduct research in the U.S. for a period of three to six months.

Applicants should also be able to demonstrate sufficient English language proficiency to conduct research in the U.S.

Applicant must be an English language teachers or currently in training to become an English language teacher. The program is for one academic year (9 months) and requires the grantee to teach Indonesian language and culture in the U.S. for 20 hours per week and enables to enroll in at least two U.S. Studies and/or ESL methodology classes per semester under a full tuition waiver.

Applicants who are no older than 29 years of age by October 1, 2009 will possess:

o a Sarjana (S1) with a minimum GPA of 3.0 (4.00 scale)o have a Bachelor’s degree in English or English Educationo demonstrated leadership qualities and cultural

Hubert H. Humphrey fellowships enable Indonesian mid-career professionals to participate in non-degree programs that combine academic course work at the graduate level with professional development activities in the U.S. for a period of one academic year (9 months). 

Candidates are typically administrators in leadership positions with a minimum of five years of work experience who represent either the public or non-profit private sectors, including Non-Governmental Organizations (NGO’s) who are committed to public service.

FULBRIGHT VISITING FULBRIGHT VISITING SPECIALIST PROGRAMSPECIALIST PROGRAM

The Fulbright Visiting Specialists Program provides grants for Indonesian scholars and practitioners to conduct intensive three to six week programs of teaching, lecturing and public outreach on topics in Islamic civilization and developments in the Muslim world.

The program does not support research and provides no time for the participants to pursue personal projects. Participants may be in fields of Islamic and area studies: political science, international relations, business and economics, history, women's studies, journalism, sociology, religion, literature, anthropology, the arts.

Applicant must posses: o a Ph.D. or equivalent experience or a terminal degree in their field o demonstrate a strong record of academic, professional, and

community serviceo expertise on Islam as a creed and cultureo maturity, dependability, flexibility, integrity and professionalismo Applicants must be residing in Indonesia

INTERNATIONAL LEADERSHIP IN INTERNATIONAL LEADERSHIP IN EDUCATION PROGRAM (ILEP) EDUCATION PROGRAM (ILEP)

The International Leadership in Education Program (ILEP) offers a semester-long academic program at a U.S. university, including coursework and intensive training in teaching methodologies, curriculum development, teaching strategies for their home environment, educational leadership, as well as tools for teaching. The semester-long program, which will commence in January and conclude in June.

Applicants must be:

o Secondary-level, full-time teachers with five or more years of classroom disciplines including: English as a Foreign Language; Social Studies; Civics; Mathematics; Science. o Citizens of the Republic of Indonesia o Have a minimum ITP TOEFL of 500

This program enables to study at a community college in the United States to develop professional skills.  Eligible fields are Business Management and Administration; Tourism and Hospitality Management; Health Professions, including Nursing; Media; Information Technology; Security and Public Safety; and Engineering.

Applicants must:

o Have completed a secondary school education; o Have relevant work experience in the field they are applying; o Minimum Institutional TOEFL score 500

Those who are currently enrolled in S1 or S2 Programs or D3, or have completed S1, S2, De, are NOT eligible for this program.

The Global UGRAD Program provides scholarships for one semester or one academic year of U.S. Study in a NON-DEGREE Program. All global UGRAD Program participants will be enrolled full-time in undergraduate course work chosen from the US institution’s existing curriculum. Students will also be provided with opportunities to participate in up to ten hours of community service per semester and an internship to all academic-year participants related to each participant’s field of study and/or career plans.

GLOBAL UNDERGRATUATE GLOBAL UNDERGRATUATE EXCHANGE PROGRAMEXCHANGE PROGRAM

Applicants must:

o Currently are enrolled in S-1 degree programs and have completed their first semester and are entering their 5th semester (students of 6th semester and above are not eligible)o have a minimum Institutional TOEFL score of 500o Preference will be given to those who have had little or NO

All disciplines and fields of study are eligible for a Fulbright award. The Fulbright program is only able to give sponsor for medical doctor to do research and observation and not to handle the patient directly nor to continue their study at medical school.
