INTRODUCTION I have always been intrigued by movies and television series that portray spies
and private investigators. I am a sucker for a police drama and the bounty
hunters as well as the intrigues that the private investigators get up to in the
make belief world. But in truth, the work of a private investigator in Singapore,
though amazing and fulfilling has its ups and downs and it is nothing like shown
in the movies. For starters, I have not in my lifetime seen a private investigator
in Singapore dawn
an oversized trench
coat, with a
magnifying glass
in one hand and a
modified
magnifying eye
piece on their eyes.
I have also not
seen a private
investigator that
goes courting
trouble willingly
and brandishes a
machine gun
killing all the bad guys leaving the good ones standing. I have come to learn that
being a private investigator is not as glamorous as portrayed on movies and on
television.
If you have had misconceptions about who a private investigator is and what he
or she does in his or her line of work, please feel free to read on and get some
insight on what the amazing work of a private investigator is in Singapore. I

WHO IS A
PRIVATE
INVESTIGATOR? Contrary to what is seen on
movies and on television, a
private investigator is
certainly not a superhuman
being with heroic powers
that sees all and knows all. I
know you like watching
Inspector Gadget and the
James Bond series of movies. I am sure some of you have read the Hardy Boys
and Nancy Drew series of novels as well as The Famous Five. And if you are a
cartoon buff like me, I am sure you have watched Scooby Doo and the antics
the gang gets up to. Whatever you have seen or read has not done the reality of
being a private investigator in Singapore justice. First and foremost, a private
investigator (also known as a private detective, private eye, PI or inquiry agent),
is a person who can be hired by individuals or groups to carry out investigatory
work under a legal framework. Note that the private investigator must work
under a legal framework and in order for one to be a private investigator in
Singapore, you will have to be vetted and licensed by the Security Industry
Regulatory Department (SIRD) and it is a branch of the Singapore Police
Department. Most private investigators in Singapore have a military, police, or
legal background and they can work as part of a private investigation agency or
start a private firm of their own.
If you would like to inquire and learn more about the licensing requirements of
a private investigator or how to become a private investigator in Singapore, feel
free to contact us or go to the police station nearest to you for information on

private investigator’s licensing requirements in Singapore. The next section will
look at the qualities that make one an exceptionally great private investigator in
Singapore and right after that we will delve into the core of this book: the
amazing work of a private investigator in Singapore. Keep an open mind and be
ready to learn some amazing stuff a Singapore private investigator does!
QUALITIES OF A GOOD PRIVATE INVESTIGATOR
IN SINGAPORE In this section, we will look at what makes a person an excellent private
investigator. Maybe some of you reading this book would like to be private
investigators in future or at the end of the book you will have decided to join the
private investigation community here in Singapore and the world over and you
need to create an edge and a niche for yourself. Well, this section is just meant
for you and all who
would like to get
valuable insight on
private
investigators.
Solid Educational
Background:
There are very
many facets of
private
investigation work
and one needs
some form of post
http://www.sk.com.sg Page 8
secondary educational qualifications depending on the area of expertise you
would like to venture in as a private investigator in Singapore. If you would like
to be a fraud investigator, knowledge on insurance and finance is imperative.
This is because it will help you in your day to day running of the private
investigation tasks. If you do not understand financial and insurance terms, then
fraud investigation will prove a great challenge to you. A successful private
investigator has the educational background and knowledge to help him or her
in carrying out investigative work.
Logical Thinker & Rational Analytical Mind: As a private investigator, you
will encounter various situations as well as collect a wide range of data that will
need to be analyzed rationally so as to come up with informed and factual
information to present to clients. If you cannot in the life of you make a decision
based on data and facts and instead rely largely on your feelings and emotion,
then you are bound to fail as a private investigator. Logical thinking is a process
in which you, as a private investigator, are able to show the link between facts
and the sequence of reasoning used to come up with the conclusion you made.
Whatever conclusions you draw from the investigation have to add up and be
backed up by solid facts. You should have the capability to visualize, articulate,
and decipher both simple and complex problems and make intelligent decisions
based on the evidence collected. To be a successful private investigator in
Singapore, logical thinking should be part and parcel of you.
Great attention to detail: A private investigator has to sort through data upon
investigative data and organize them in a sequential manner before analyzing
them rationally and coming up with facts. If you miss one crucial data or
information or overlook certain occurrences, you may end up with a false
conclusion or an inconclusive investigation. A successful private investigator
looks at all the investigative data and information, no matter how irrelevant it
may seem so as to come up with irrevocable conclusions.
http://www.sk.com.sg Page 9
Keen and Observant: A private investigator may be required to do some field
work as well as undercover work in the course of an investigation and
depending on the nature of the investigation. A private investigator will also
conduct interviews where necessary and read many written documents. You
should be keen enough so as to be able to notice inconsistencies as well as the
missing links in the investigation. Private investigation is like solving a
brainteaser and if you miss a single piece or put one in a wrong place, the
brainteaser will remain unsolved. A good private investigator has to be alert on
what is going on in his or her surroundings and also have the ability to decipher
verbal and non-verbal cues, as well as be able to read body language when
conducting interviews or undercover and field work as it may just be the
difference between life and death. Open your ears and eyes and you will get to
see and hear much more than the words uttered would say.
Excellent Communication Skills: As a private investigator, you will have to be
conversant with the temperament of different clients and how to deal with them
as well as be able to present information to a client in a clear and precise
manner. If you cannot articulate what you have found to a client or even lack in
interviewing skills, work will not be coming your way. You have to show the
client that you are confident and that you know what you are doing and talking
about. This will also help you build a good rapport with your clients as well as
other informants who will be of help in your numerous investigative
undertakings. Remember communication includes how you disseminate
information, verbal and non verbal cues, spoken and written word, as well as the
chain of information disbursement and information storage.
Integrity and Honesty: When a client comes to you with a problem or a
concern, he or she expects that you will treat the conversation and the
information shared with utmost privacy and seriousness it deserves. If you have
a habit of sharing personal information and other intimate details about the
http://www.sk.com.sg Page 10
client or other people with third parties, then you are not fit to become a private
investigator in Singapore. If you cannot handle a certain case or do not have the
requisite skills and expertise to handle a particular matter, then you should let
the client know beforehand. Do not inflate the rate you charge clients or
disburse information to the client you know has no ounce of truth. Do not cook
up data and if there will be any conflict of interest during the course of the case,
let the client know and step aside. Integrity and honesty are to be the core of any
investigative work.
Apart from all that, a private investigator should have good time management
and planning skills as well as have a love for solving puzzles and mysteries.
Having training from a professional private investigator or having an older
private investigator as a mentor is also advisable as it will shape you into an
excellent private investigator doing amazing investigative work in Singapore
and world over. Remember also to develop your professional skills as well as
your street smarts as you are required to be a well rounded individual who is not
only book smart but street smart as well.
THE AMAZING WORK OF A PRIVATE
INVESTIGATOR IN SINGAPORE There is a wide variety of investigative work a private investigator in Singapore
can undertake. The private investigator can decide whether or not he or she
would like to specialize in a certain area of investigation or generalize in all
areas: a case of being a jack of all trades and a master of none. In this book, we
are going to look at the following amazing work a private investigator in
Singapore may undertake in his or her line of duty:
Due diligence.
Marital and infidelity investigations.
Hidden asset tracking and asset tracing.
http://www.sk.com.sg Page 11
Fraud investigations.
Computer forensics.
Mystery shopper.
Process server services.
Litigation support services.
Polygraph investigation services.
Missing person tracing and
Background and credit checks.
We are going to look at all these aforementioned areas in detail and give you an
outline of what amazing investigative work a Singapore private investigator in
his or her professional life.
Background and Credit Checks: This is one of the facets of investigation
work that almost all private investigators in Singapore undertake and offer in
their investigative packages. Background and credit checks involves the private
investigator and his or her team looking at every aspect of a person’s life from
their financial profiles, hobbies, place and time of birth, relationships,
employment history, professional and academic background as well as any
other information pertaining to an individual’s past and their credit scores. The
main aim of this investigation is to dig deeper into a person’s past and see
whether they are being truthful and forthcoming with information in their
present and if you have ever been convicted of a crime or taken part in any
illegal activities, even by proxy (i.e. aiding and abetting any illegal activities).
This is usually requested by couples before they get married or by a company
before hiring a potential new employee or consultant. The past has a way of
catching up with us and it helps people predict your future behaviours and
actions and so if your background check comes up not so good and your credit
score is so low due to non payment of debts, then you are bound to lose out on a
potentially life changing opportunity. A private investigator’s work in
http://www.sk.com.sg Page 12
Singapore is to ensure they dig up as much information as they can about the
subject under investigation to determine if they are who they say they are.
The background and credit check is done by going through financial records,
police records, court records, registry records, social security records as well as
any other records that can be obtained and accessed by the public or through
legal channels. Most people are especially interested in a person’s criminal past
or lack thereof as integrity and honesty is a core value shared by most people in
Singapore. It involves a lot of paper work and following paper trails as well as
email tracking, and may also be considered the most tedious, boring but
fulfilling part of a private investigator’s life. A private investigator SG will
conduct a background check in almost all his is her cases so it is an inevitable
part of the amazing work of a private investigator in Singapore.
Due Diligence: By general definition, due diligence is the investigation and
evaluation of all the pertinent specifics of a business or investment opportunity
by looking at its past, present and future trends. From a private investigator’s
point of view, due diligence refers to the appraisal of the background and status
of a prospective business partner(s) or key player(s) in a business enterprise
before parties enter into a considerable fiscal union. It encompass the
assessment of quality of assets, accountability & legal issues (such as lawsuits)
or regulatory or environmental issues and it is crucial prior to a merger,
company purchase, or acquisition because it ensures that liabilities are not
concealed. A private investigator will start by conducting a background and
credit check on the company so as to find information on its directors as well as
its financial standing. The client would not like to merge or acquire a company
that will land him or her into trouble with the law or with the investors, hurting
his or her reputation and losing a possibly large sum of money.
http://www.sk.com.sg Page 13
A Singapore private investigator will frequently use forensic accounting
investigations, background checks, surveillance, mystery shopping, asset
searches, financial investigations and other business investigation methods to
learn what is happening at a company in the present day. The Singapore private
investigator will need to go over public records, converse with corporation
clientele and customers, and even get in touch with out of the country offices in
order to unearth the legality and potential of a business enterprise. The
following are some of the issues that are essential to any due diligence
investigation:
i. Business Interests: Company executives engaging in self-dealing,
concealed business interests or past affiliations that have been the focus
of controversy, insolvency or sanctions. The private investigator will also
look at the key decision makers in the company and their professional and
personal relationships and associations to determine if there is a conflict
of interest or corrupt dealings in tender awards as well as how their
supply chain and procurement management goes. It will also look at what
the company’s closest associations are. As they say, show me your
friends and I will tell you who you are.
ii. Assets: Multiple houses and boats which could show someone living
beyond their means, untraceable company assets, checking the company’s
balance sheets as well as audited financial records to determine the worth
of the assets the company has versus its liabilities. The state of a
company’s assets will give a good indicator on whether or not the
company will run into liquidation sooner rather than later.
iii. Regulatory Issues: The private investigator in Singapore will look at
unrevealed regulatory complaints or penalizing actions taken by state or
federal regulatory agency concerning how the business is run and
operated. If it involves environmental matters, the private investigator
http://www.sk.com.sg Page 14
will look at how the company has complied with the environmental laws,
as well as other laws governing the industry the company is in as well as
the general business guidelines and regulations. The Singapore private
investigator will also look into tax compliance and how the financial and
business records are filed. You do not want to end up with surprises when
you acquire or merge with that company!
iv. Criminal/Civil Cases: The private investigator will look into the conduct
of the directors and the employees of the company. The directorship and
human resource of a company reveal the company’s core values and how
each person behaves is a reflection on the company. The Singapore
private investigator will look at any criminal or civil cases brought
against the company or its directorship as well as key decision makers. If
the company or its key decision makers or directors are multiple
offenders or have case after case or have been found criminally liable for
a certain offence, high chances of merging or acquisition not taking place.
v. Financial Status: The Singapore private detective will look at tax and
financial compliance, if the shareholders and investors have been paid
their dues, if there have been financial issues filed in a court of law or
under arbitration as well as look at the company’s bottom line i.e. the
profit and loss margins. If a company is not performing financially, then
it is of no value to potential investors and buyers as well as business
partners.
vi. Professional History: The private investigator in Singapore will look at
all the academic and professional documents provided by the company
directorates and key decision makers as well as a sample of company
employees. The private investigator will find out if there are any falsified
academic and professional credentials or misrepresentations of earlier
work history.
http://www.sk.com.sg Page 15
vii. Personal History: The private investigator in Singapore will look at the
personal life of the key decision makers, directors and a sample of
employees. This is because a person’s personal life has a great impact on
their work performance and the bottom line of the company. If the people
working of the company have integrity and other positive values which
outweigh the negatives, then the company is in good shape.
After collecting all these information, the private investigator will analyze of all
of it logically with a rational mind and then present it to the client. Due
diligence will help in
uncovering vested interests,
red flags, looming
insolvency, financial
troubles as well as other
issues that have been
concealed from the potential
investors.
Fraud investigation:
Fraud may be defined as
misrepresentation with
intention to deceive,
mislead, misinform or swindle. For instance, if you sell an item to someone and
say it has certain features and functions and it does not perform as promised,
you are guilty of fraud. When you lie that your relative has died and collected
money to offset burial expenses, then you are guilty of fraud. There are different
types of fraud investigations which include: Financial fraud, insurance fraud,
identity theft, corporate fraud and employee compensation fraud among many
others. The most common type of fraud investigated by a private investigator in
Singapore is insurance and financial fraud.
http://www.sk.com.sg Page 16
Insurance fraud mainly deals with people making false claims or colluding with
other people to look like compensation is needed against an insured item or
person. Financial fraud deals with looking at financial & accounting records so
as to ensure no falsified data is recorded so as someone swindles some money
from the company. Most people when they are in need of cash may go as far as
hiring people to burn down their business premises and make it look like an
arson attack so that they may claim some compensation from their insurance
provider. The insurance provider may contract a private detective in Singapore
to look into the issue so as to determine there was no foul play before
compensation is awarded. They may also hire a Singapore private investigator if
they suspect an employee or underwriter of colluding with people insured to
scam the insurer for some money.
Financial fraud is the most common type of fraud that takes place. Companies
have put up systems to curb and red flag fraudulent activities but some people
have proved clever enough to bypass those preventive measures. The main
culprits of financial fraud are accountants, procurement and supply chain
managers as well as financial and administrative personnel. You will find the
cost of an item being inflated, or a tender being awarded to nonexistent
companies or companies that the key decision makers have an interest in, some
are perpetuated by people doing book entries where they cook the data till the
accounts balance out and they eat some of the proceeds. A private investigator
will have to do a forensic audit if the accounts as well as the audit reports and
book entries so as to come up with a comprehensive report on fraud and its
major perpetrators and benefactors.
When conducting fraud investigations, a private investigator in Singapore will
be required to form a team of legal experts, computer forensic experts,
actuarists, forensic accountants, and any other relevant experts in the
investigation. This is because fraud is a very serious crime and in order to prove
http://www.sk.com.sg Page 17
fraud has taken place, concrete evidence is required. The private investigator
must also ensure confidentiality as if word gets out someone or an entity is
under investigation for fraud, the repercussions can be great and may lead to
legal liability as well as financial compensations. The main steps a private
investigator will go through in a fraud investigation include:
Conducting a preliminary interview: This is done to help a private investigator
determine whether or not there is need to go all out and carry out an
investigation or the circumstances under which the client wants a fraud
investigation to be carried out is not merited. The private investigator will
interview the clients, potential witnesses; go through some documents and
materials provided as well as interview possible suspects. If there is an
indication that fraud is indeed taking place, a fully fledged investigation is
launched.
Collecting evidence: The private investigator will set up his or her team of
experts as well as legal counsel depending on the nature of the case. There will
be a forensic audit, computer forensics, document analysis as well as
surveillance and undercover worker so as to gather as much evidence as
possible. They team will look at:
Emails both from the office computer and other digital devices.
Files and documents that may be password protected, encrypted, or
hidden.
Enhanced metafiles i.e. Files that have been generated from the operating
system
Databases of all user input and activity
Recently opened, accessed, created or deleted files, and
Online activities including social media activities, Internet banking
transactions and instant message communications.
http://www.sk.com.sg Page 18
Lifestyle changes: have you suddenly moved from one bed roomed
apartment to a mansion in the suburbs yet your salary cannot afford you
such luxuries.
Social interactions, personal accounts and assets as well as that of your
immediate family and close relatives and friends.
Asset tracking and hidden asset tracing.
Surveillance footages.
There are many areas that a private investigator will look at in determining
fraudulent activities has taken place as long as it is accepted under the law.
Evidence Analysis: The private investigator and his or her team will go through
all the investigative data collected and look at it critically with an analytical eye
and a logical mind. The data will be grouped and organized in a logical manner
and all evidence that will indicate and prove fraud has taken place analysed
further to determine who the main culprit is and his or her accomplices. A
detailed report will be written and the finding given to the client for
determination on a way forward. The private investigator will also be called in
as an expert witness where need be if the persons accused of fraud are taken to a
court if law.
Fraud investigations are time consuming and require a lot of patience and
resources to carry out but in the long run, they will help a client recoup his or
her money and assets and will be cost saving in the long run. It is just one of the
amazing works of a private investigator in Singapore!
Marital & Infidelity investigations: Being in a relationship is fun at first, but
when trust is lacking and infidelity crops up, evidence is required before
confronting your significant other. Some people may prefer to have their future
spouse investigated before saying the “I Do” or in order to come up with a pre-
nuptial agreement. Some would like to make sure that they are marrying or
http://www.sk.com.sg Page 19
getting
married to a
genuine
person who
is marrying
them for
them and not
their money,
resources
and
influence. Some of the spouses who are getting divorced may require a
documented list of their spouses’ assets, financial records and property. In all
these investigative needs, a private investigator in Singapore comes in handy
and takes up the case willingly.
One of the ways this type of investigation is done is by carrying out a
background check. The private investigator in Singapore will look at the past of
the spouse under investigation as well as his or her professional, academic,
family, social & financial life as well as public records so as to determine their
past and their genuine identity. Surveillance, cell phone tracking, digital
forensics & undercover work come in handy in divorce and infidelity
investigations. Marital & infidelity investigation is the most practiced
investigative assignment by a Singapore private investigator and it is the most
rewarding financially and professionally. There are always people getting
married, cheating and divorced so the market for this kind of amazing work for
a private investigator in Singapore is wide and never ending.
http://www.sk.com.sg Page 20
Mystery shopper: This is an individual contracted by a market research
company, consumer watch dog organizations or even a shopping mall to obtain
information about certain goods or services, or to measure quality of service,
and compliance to regulation. The Singapore private investigator performs a
specific assignment and provides in depth feedback or reports about their
experience. Since the private investigator has the skills to blend in into a
situation, have analytical minds as well as a keen eye to detail on top of
excellent communication
& interview skills, they
make good candidates for
mystery shopping. The
private investigator will go
to the assigned store,
purchase an item, ask
questions about the
product, register
complaints and ask for the
store manager where
necessary, may be
required to behave in an
unruly or obnoxious
manner or any behaviour
specified by the client, and observe all that is going on around them and then
asked to give a detailed account of their experience as well as the quality of the
purchase made and the customer service received and if there are any red flags
or fraudulent activities he or she has noted while in there. This will help the
client evaluate the quality of customer service as well as the integrity of the
employees.
http://www.sk.com.sg Page 21
Most private
investigators in
Singapore love this kind
of assignments as it
plays on their creativity,
allows them to have fun
as well as put their
acting and undercover
skills to practice. The
private investigator may
be required to take
pictures, video or audio
recordings, so these
cases will give them a
chance to take out their investigative toys out to play. If I were ever a private
investigator in Singapore, I would specialize in this niche of investigation as it
is fun and offers a lot of challenges to overcome and I might just get a chance to
wear a long trench coat with a hat just like Sherlock Holmes!
Polygraph Investigation: A polygraph is a gadget that records certain
physiological changes in an individual undergoing probing in an attempt to get
hold of truth or deception. A polygraph simultaneously records a minimum of
respiratory activity, galvanic skin resistance/conductivity and cardiovascular
action. The private investigator administering the polygraph test asks the
questions, prepares the subject matter for the investigation, interprets the data,
and operates the machine. The polygraph investigation usually start by simple
questions like the name, date of birth, place of residence and move on to more
complex questions about the matter under investigation. It the questions are
usually phrased in such a manner that the person taking the test either gives an
http://www.sk.com.sg Page 22
affirmative or negative response, no ambiguous answers. The physiological
changes in answering the simple questions are compared to the physiological
changes in answering the complex question about the matter under
investigation. The private detective notes the variations and analyzes them to
determine whether the examinee passes or fails the polygraph test.
The polygraph investigation assists a Singapore private investigator in:
Eliminating suspects
Recognising phony complaints
Testing informants to determine the reliability of information provided
Providing a fresh insight to an investigation when all other standard
analytical techniques have been exhausted
Narrowing the focus of enquiry, gathering supplementary information
and proof and
Assisting to centre the investigation on specific suspects.
Mostly used by private investigators who have been retained by attorneys in
criminal and civil cases and it requires one to have an analytical mind so as to
process all the data garnered from the investigation as well as from the
polygraph investigation to come up with solid evidence or a plan of action to
enable the successful completion of the matter under investigation.
Asset Investigations: This involves hidden asset tracking and asset tracing. It
is mostly undertaken when people are having an acrimonious divorce, when a
person dies without living a will behind stating his or her assets, when a
company wants to recover assets fraudulently acquired from it by past directors
and employees, debt recovery as well as commissioned in fraud and corruption
allegations & bankruptcy claims. This investigation is very important as it
http://www.sk.com.sg Page 23
would be a substantial waste of time and resources if you take a debtor to court
and the judge orders a seizure of their assets or an award of compensation yet
there you cannot claim from the defendant as there are simply no assets to seize
and no money to pay the court awarded settlement.
The private investigator in Singapore will do a background check, surveillance
work, computer forensics, as well as financial investigations. From the
investigation a private investigator should be able to provide the physical
address, social security number, bank details, detailed company balance sheet,
payment histories as well as credit limits. The private investigator should also
be able to establish if the company or
individual has had any previous
litigation proceedings, if they have a
track record of non payment of debts,
fraud, and if they have any hidden
assets. The private investigator will
also conduct a real property
investigation so as to get a clear
picture of the subject under
investigation. Most people who want
to hide assets register it under the names of the spouses as well as children and
other close relatives and friends. A Singapore private investigator will also
investigate assets under all their names and come up with a detailed inventory
of all fiscal and physical assets owned by the entity under investigation.
The private investigator has to apply ingenuity in conducting asset
investigations as some people may use pseudonyms and false identities to hide
assets in offshore accounts and getting that information is an uphill task. It is
one of the most difficult investigative works a Singapore private detective may
undertake and requires a lot of time, planning and patience on the investigator’s
http://www.sk.com.sg Page 24
and client’s side. The assets recovered will be used in paying off debtors,
meeting legal obligations, distribution to the family of the deceased person or
held as state property.
Litigation Support Services: This is the process of providing support and
consultative services before, during and after the completion of a case to an
attorney or law firm. These services are provided before, during and after the
case the attorney and the private investigator are working on hand in hand. The
support and consultative services may range from a simple background check to
the more complex surveillance and field work to corroborate evidence acquired
as well as uncovers new evidence where necessary. The private detective
Singapore will do preliminary research and documentation of evidence and
other relevant materials before the case starts, interview witnesses to check for
inconsistencies in their accounts and verify information given as well as
maintain a database of all the relevant information as pertains to the case. He or
she will also provide support services before the commencement of the trial by
examining previous legal actions that may be relevant to the nature of the case
and the current law statutes that may have a bearing on the legal action itself.
If the attorney wins the case, the private investigator will assist in determining
the precise process for the
collection of any
compensation that are
awarded or any
interrelated legal action
that may be essential now
that the primary case has
been settled. In case the
attorney lost the case, the
private investigator will

comb through the data in the trial to establish whether there is new information
or other factors that may be used to facilitate a new trial or an appeal process.
The investigator will also go through the court transcripts to establish a gap in
witness statements, or inconsistencies that the attorney may use in case an
appeal is granted. He or she will also be required to go over all the facts
surrounding the case and trial and establish if there is any additional information
that can be retrieved to come up with a new defence or counter defence
strategies as well as if there is any information that needs to be corroborated and
finding witnesses that can do
that.
Computer Forensics: This is
the examination of digital
media in a forensically sound
way with the intent of
identifying, preserving,
recovering, analyzing and
presenting facts and opinions
with reference to the
information obtained. It is used
in computer crimes, civil
proceedings as well as criminal
cases. The techniques used are in line with guidelines and practices designed to
generate a legal audit trail. In order for the evidence obtain to hold up in a court,
a professional should be contacted to do the forensics. When doing the forensic
examination on the computer, the Singapore private investigator is able to run
the string-search for e-mail with a breakdown revealing the Internet usage,
websites visited, retrieve data, and carry out a full analysis even after the
computer has been formatted or / and defragged. After all data has been

retrieved and arranged in a sequential
manner, the forensics expert will be able
to objectively view and logically analysis
the data into pertinent information that
can be used in a court of law or during
arbitration or any other legal process.
Process Server Services: A process
server is the person charged with the
responsibility of serving of process in
which he or she delivers court documents
such as: subpoenas, summonses, orders,
writs, affidavits, Divorce Petitions,
statutory demands, injunctions,
Judgments, complaints, Summons or
Claim forms. Serving of process is the official procedure to give legal notice to
a person. The serving of process has to be performed in a particular manner as
outlined in the legal procedure act and a notarized affidavit has to be signed
giving details on how, when, where and to whom the papers were served.
A private investigator Singapore is hired to do provide process server services
because most people who know they are about to get served go into hiding. The
private investigator will do a background check to track the person down. The
other reason a private investigator is hired is because this can be a very
dangerous undertaking and his or her keen observational skills and undercover
experience will come in handy. The private investigator will carry out the
process with the caution and discretion it requires and he or she will do it in
record time.

Missing Person Tracing: There are many reasons why we would like a
missing person to be traced like: due to their kidnapping, they left home and
never came back, to reconnect with old friends and classmates as well as to find
your birth parents if you were involved in a closed adoption. The private
investigator will start by going through all the details you have given them so as
to come up with a plan of action. Most start by doing a background check
looking at all the people who fit the description as well as the information you
have given them. This will then be
narrowed done to prospective
candidates who are a good fit to the
person you need to be located. Social
media is also a good place for an
investigator to look at as it will give
more information and pictures of the
faces behind the profiles. Most will
start tracking down a missing person
from their last known address and
telephone number. The private
investigator always starts from the
known to the unknown. Sometimes it
may take days, months or even years to
find a missing person, so keep an open
mind and hope alive that they will be found. Sometimes you may come to learn
that they died ages ago. This is the most emotional of the investigations as it
requires handling the case with delicate hands and an objective, hopeful
perspective as people’s emotions can be fragile.

CONCLUSION The amazing work of a private investigator in Singapore does come with its
unique challenges as each case is different. A private investigator has to find a
way to decompress after a hard day’s work and most of the time; the work may
take over their personal and social lives. It may not be as cool and debonair as
depicted in movies and television series, but it is a job that comes with its own
fulfilment. The amazing work of a private investigator in Singapore is also
exhilarating, dangerous, interesting and variable. All in all, a private
investigator’s work requires a clear headed, open minded individual who is not
afraid to take on challenges.
