We recruit all the time! Recruiting never ends!

• A good academy recruits from day one of the school year

• A good Academy Team plans recruiting activities to coincide with specific dates that:

• Students hear about high school choices• Students attend district-wide recruiting events• Students meet with counselors to make choices

for the next year• Parents receive high school information from the

district• Academy teachers look in-house for potential

academy students when report cards come out.

• Have upper level academy students present to students• Make the academy visible in the school and feeder schools.• Invite students and parents to academy functions.• Invite students and parents to academy classes.• Feed our target audience—food is a great motivator!• Treat our target audience “special”.• Review student’s interest surveys and target appropriate

groups.• Accompany counselors to feeder-school presentations.
