Brakes are serious business and so is the choice between imported and U.S.-

manufactured brake drums. While imported drums may be cheaper to purchase,

their potential failure points can dramatically affect long-term durability —

costing you time and money. That’s why Alliance brake drums are cast and

machined in the U.S. for durable, smooth braking operation you can rely on.

When brake shoes need to be tough and dependable, Alliance

delivers. Our brake shoes and kits are remanufactured with an

advanced coating that provides unsurpassed resistance to

rust-jacking and corrosion. Alliance offers a wide variety of shoes

and kits to ensure that every heavy-duty truck application has

reliable, affordable braking options.

Alliance brake chambers are designed to provide years of safe, dependable operation

for service, parking or emergency braking applications. These spring brakes and service

chambers feature rugged construction, heavy-gauge housings and steel components to

reduce corrosion and potential equipment failure.

ALLIANCE TRUCK PARTSBRAKE DRUMS

ALLIANCE TRUCK PARTSBRAKE CHAMBERS Rust-jacking is caused by corrosive anti-icing

highway chemicals combined with thawing and

freezing moisture that penetrates the brake shoe

coating and causes rust to build up on the brake

shoe table. Rust-jacking is found most often

where intense brake heat cannot dry out the

shoe table. Typically, this occurs in front shoes.

As rust builds up, it pushes outward against the

lining, “jacking” it up between the rivets, until the

lining cracks. No matter how thin the lining is,

once cracked, it’s unsafe and must be replaced.

Replacing rusted brake shoes prematurely

can be a costly on-going maintenance issue.

That’s why Alliance shoes feature a specialized

coating that dramatically decreases rust-jacking,

extending the brake shoe life.

THE FACTS: WHY RUST-JACKING IS A SERIOUS PROBLEM

ALLIANCE TRUCK PARTSBRAKE SHOES AND KITS

■ Manufactured in the U.S.

■ 23,000-lb GAWR

■ Cast and precision machined from industry-standard G3000 gray iron

per SAE J431 standards

■ Certified Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard 121-compliant

■ Meets or exceeds OE aftermarket and SAE standards

■ Outperforms competitive drums in dynamometer durability testing

■ Enhanced machining techniques provide a superior brake surface finish to prevent

“shoe-slap” and vibration

■ Treated and coated for corrosion protection, dramatically extending life

■ Guided spring pressure plate prevents side forces which cause diaphragm sidewall and seal wear

■ Special crimping method ensures a no-guess diaphragm seal and allows for a low profile without

clamp interference

■ Steel internal rod and advanced slotted center seal design improves alignment of moving parts

and prevents premature seal wear and corrosion

■ Synthetic blended rubber diaphragms for superior resistance against abrasion and fatigue cracking

■ Coated for resistance to corrosion and rust-jacking

■ High-strength materials totally eliminate cracking

■ Low swell and growth eliminate potential for wheel lockup

■ Ideal for use with automatic slack adjusters

■ Meets the inertial dynamometer requirement of the FMVSS 121

brake standard at a 23,000-lb GAWR
