ABOUT US

The Aditya Birla Public School, Renukoot was

established as Hindalco Vidya Niketan in the year

1971, under the aegis of Hindalco Industries Ltd.

The school was set up by Mr. Ghanshyam Dasji

Birla to fulfill the need of quality education for

the children of Hindalco employees and the

surrounding locality.

The school is located at Renukoot, (Sonebhadra

district, U.P.) on the Varanasi – Shaktinagar

highway and is about 160 km away from Varanasi

Railway station and 180 km from Babatpur Air

Port, Varanasi.

The Aditya Birla Public School is an English

medium co-educational senior secondary (10+2)

institution affiliated to Central Board of

Secondary Education, New Delhi. As on today

the school is imparting education to more than

1312 students.

FACILITIES IN THE SCHOOL

CLASS ROOMS

The school has two sections, for each class from Nursery to XII. Each room is, of the size of 22' x 23', airy, spacious and well lit.

SCHOOL LIBRARY The Library is the nerve center, a mirror and catalyst element of the academic functioning of any Institution. Open shelf system is available to the students where every student has free access to any book. The library has a very rich collection of books, journals, periodicals, magazines and newspapers. It has more than 16,000 books on various subjects. Every year the library is enriched by books worth of approx. Rs.25,000/-. Each department has raised its own departmental library. The school makes available Nine "News Papers" and 24 magazines and periodicals to its students.

The school has well equipped laboratories for Physics, Chemistry and Biology. Learning by doing helps the students of classes VI to XII to unearth their experimental and investigative skills.

COMPUTER EDUCATION

JUNIOR LABORATORY SENIOR LABORATORY

The school has established two computer laboratories i.e. one for Primary education and one for Secondary & Sr. Secondary education with the machines of latest configuration. The emphasis has been laid to provide one system to one child at a time for computer education. The education is imparted through multimedia and Internet. Two periods of Computer Education have been provided for the classes from I to X. Computer Science is one of the optional subjects at the Senior Secondary level.

ART & SCULPTURE

To explore and bring to fruitition the creativity of the students, the Art & Sculpture room offers Drawing & Painting, clay modeling and wood craft activities. Sculpture is offered as an optional subject at the Senior Secondary Level.

MUSIC & DANCE

The Music Department offers facilities for Indian Classical Music (Vocal & Instrumental). Emphasis is laid on Harmonium, Tabla and Sitar. Music remains an optional subject at the Senior Secondary Level.

MATHEMATICS LABORATORY

As per the requirement of the CBSE, the school has established a Mathematics Laboratory to sharpen mathematical concepts among students through projects.

AUDIO VISUAL ROOM

The School has an Audio Visual Room to help the children learn effectively through Audio Visual aids. The Room is also utilized for seminars and conferences.

GAMES & SPORTS

The school has its own sports field of the size 70m x 80m to hold outdoor Games/Sports activities. Indoor activities are held in the multipurpose hall. The school organizes coaching camps for different games and sports during summer vacation. Inter house competitions of Hockey, Cricket, Football, Athletics, Carom, Badminton, Chess, Table Tennis and Annual Sports Meet are held every year. Organized evening games are the special feature of Games / Sports activities in the school.

NATIONAL CADET CORPS[JR DIV. ]

The School has junior divisions of Boys N.C.C. (Army Wing ) under 101 UP Bn NCC Mirzapur. There are 50 vacancies available in Junior Division. The NCC in the school is run on self finance basis. Participation in NCC is compulsory for the boys of classes VIII & IX.

CULTURAL & LITERARY

The school provides opportunities to the students to participate in cultural & Literary activities through Inter House Competitions, Annual Functions & Zonal Meets.

B) SPORTS & CULTURAL

1. School children participated in the State Level Dance reality show “TAAL” where two group dances and three solo dances have been selected for the Finals.

2. The School’s Football Team participated in CBE Cluster level football tournament at Lucknow and reached up to the quarter final stage.

3. School’s U-19 Boys Table Tennis Team was the runner up in CBSE Cluster level Tournament at Shaktinagar.

4. Kislay Mishra of class IX has been selected in the UP state team of football under 16yrs category. 5. Rashi Dwivedi of class V has been selected for felicitation at Lucknow by the Deptt of Energy &

Conservation, Central Government , in the painting competition. 6. Kushagra Mishra was second position holder in the All India Ranking chess Tournament at Gwalior

under 10 category in the month of May 2012. 7. In the UP State chess championship at Lucknow, Kartik Mishra, Raj Sambhav and Kushagra Mishra

bagged Gold medal in U-13, U-11, and Under – 7 categories, respectively in the month of June 2012. 8. Raj Sambhav was adjudged first in All India chess Tournament at Gwalior in U-12 age category in the

month of August 2012. 9. Three students have participated in the UP State Swimming Championship at Lucknow in the month

of June 2012.
