BITS & PIECES

• We have had the sad task of saying good bye to two of our own. Barney Lilley and Peg Hurlbut passed away this past month. Barney was a Lodge Officer for four years in the chairs, a PER, and served two terms (ten years) as a Trustee. He will be sorely missed. Peg was an auxiliary member for many years. A regular figure at club events with her friend Fritz. She will also be missed.

• The news of the postponement of the social event of the year,

the wedding of Jo & Chris has brought some opportunists out of the woodwork. Efforts have been made by certain women of the Lodge, to break up this happy couple for their own greedy reasons. I won’t sully this page with their names (one is a PER ) but their avarice is appalling. Unfortunately for them, I think they have awakened the beast, and will be sorry they ever went down this very slippery slope. After all, they don’t call her Mother in Law for nothing.

• What have Cookie & Sue Green been up to????? I smell some-

thing fishy there. • Mike D’Agostino and his lovely wife Natalie catered the pig

for the Pig Roast again this year. Needless to say, it went off with-out a hitch.

• Has anyone noticed how quiet it is at the Lodge lately? Must

be Charlie Auer is back at the boat house! John Plunkett

BLOOD DRIVE

Thanks to our Lodge members and neighbors for a successful Blood Drive on April 18th. We were able to donate 33 productive units of blood to the Red Cross! That was an improvement of 4 units over our last drive. Con-gratulations! Now that the weather has started to improve, we certainly hope that our recent efforts will help grant dozens of hospital patients a second chance to enjoy the spring season as never be-fore. Thank you Dave Ploesser and Lady Eldoes for all of your help!

NEXT BLOOD DRIVE - JUNE 13TH! With sincerest appreciation, Wilfred “Dizzy” Desilets, Chairperson, PER

“Bart (the pig) was finger lickin’ good!!!”

The Pig Roast on May 9th was another huge success! Over 200 people chowed on BBQ pork, corn, beans, coleslaw and rolls. After-wards there was dancing and the usual craziness! Thanks to all the volunteers (to many to list) who helped! Chris Bissonette, Chairman
