When his son, Nicholas, was diagnosed with cystic fibrosis, Sal Capano became a dedicated and determined volunteer for the CF Foundation. He created the Care Today...Cure Tomorrow event and never missed an opportunity to educate the world about CF, and recruit people to help in his quest to raise funds and find a cure for Nicholas and everyone else who battles the disease. Sal Capano passed away in 2008. In tribute, a group of Sal’s friends, affectionately know as “Sal’s Pals,” continue his “Care Today...Cure Tomorrow” event in the Spirit of Sal Capano, to raise much-needed research dollars for the CF Foundation and continue the legacy of their dear friend.

Cysic fibrosis (CF) is a life - threatening genetic disease affecting an estimated 30,000 children and adults in the United States. Currently, there is no cure. The challenge of the CF Foundation is to raise the research dollars needed to assure the development of the means to cure and control CF and to improve the quality of life for those with the disease. Nearly 90 cents of every dollar of revenue is available for investment in research and program services. In recognition for its work, the CF Foundation has been cited by such publications as Smart Money, the magazine of The Wall Street Journal, and Forbes as one of the top health organizations in the country in terms of its efficiency and innovative approach to curing a genetic disease. Your partnership with the CF Foundation is critical to ensuring that the momentum in CF research contin-ues. Working together, we can add tomorrows to the lives of everyone with CF.

CF Foundation Infection Prevention and Control PolicyBecause of risks to people with cystic fibrosis (CF), only one person with CF may be invited to participate in the indoor portion of the event. During the outdoor portion, people with CF should keep at least 6 feet away from others with CF. Also, individuals who have ever had a confirmed positive sputum culture for Burkholderia cepacia (B. cepacia) complex shall not attend any Foundation events/meetings. These requirements are because CF germs can be passed between individuals who have CF. Some germs in a person with CF can cause serious respiratory illness and, in some patients, may lead to death. CF germs are not a risk for otherwise healthy individuals.Despite this policy, individuals with CF might choose to attend events with-out informing the CF Foundation or without the Foundation’s knowledge. If so, they do so at their own risk. The Foundation accepts no responsibility for any risk to health involved in attendance, or in any social contact between persons with CF. For more information, please visit www.cff.org.

A copy of the official registration (#CH956) and financial information may be obtained from the Division of the Consumer Services by calling toll-free 1.800.435.7452 within the state. Registration does not imply endorsement, approval or recommendation by the state. The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation has not retained a professional solicitor. 100% of each contribution is received by CFF.
