Dwight D. Eisenhower
President Harry S. Truman began the Korean War in June of 1950.
Truman put General Douglas MacArthur in charge of the troops.
After MacArther made some poor choices, Truman fired MacArthur.
In 1952, Dwight D. Eisenhower was elected the next president of the United States.
In 1953, Eisenhower signed a treaty which put an end to the Korean War.
Nothing was gained because the boundary
between North and South Korea
ended in the same exact spot it began.
However, much was lost.
By the end of the war, more than
150,000 American Soldiers were injured,
missing in action or dead.
