Gathering Welcome to this holy place,
A house of prayer for many;
a home to all who come.
Welcome to this gathering place,
Friend and stranger, broken and whole,
all are welcome.
Welcome to this timeless place,
We join with Angels and Archangels
and all the saints, to worship God.
We gather in the name of God,
Who ordered the heavens and earth.
We gather in the name of Jesus Christ
Who has taken the heart of God into our humanity.
We gather in the name of the Spirit,
who makes all things new.
Christ be my protection today against violence,
against illness, against drowning, against mortal wounding,
so that I may come to my ultimate reward.
Christ be with me, Christ be before me,
Christ be behind me, Christ be inside me,
Christ be beneath me, Christ be above me,
Christ on my right hand, Christ on my left hand,
Christ when I lie down, Christ when I sit down,
Christ when I rise up, Christ all around me.
Christ in the heart of everyone who beholds me,
Christ in every eye that sees me,
and Christ in every ear that hears me.
Amen.

Collect of the Day
Let us pray.
O God, because without you we are not able to please you, mercifully
grant that your Holy Spirit may in all things direct and rule our hearts;
through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the
Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen.

First Reading Jeremiah 4:11-12, 22-28
Let us prepare ourselves for the Word of God
as it comes to us in the reading of Holy Scripture.
Our hearts and minds are open.
After the reading there is a period of silence, at the end of which the reader says
This is the Word of God.
Thanks be to God.
The Psalm: 14
1 The fool has said in his heart, "There is no God." *
All are corrupt and commit abominable acts;
there is none who does any good.
2 The LORD looks down from heaven upon us all, *
to see if there is any who is wise,
if there is one who seeks after God.
3 Every one has proved faithless;
all alike have turned bad; *
there is none who does good; no, not one.
4 Have they no knowledge, all those evildoers *
who eat up my people like bread
and do not call upon the LORD?
5 See how they tremble with fear, *
because God is in the company of the righteous.
6 Their aim is to confound the plans of the afflicted, *
but the LORD is their refuge.
7 Oh, that Israel's deliverance would come out of Zion! *
when the LORD restores the fortunes of his people,
Jacob will rejoice and Israel be glad.
Second Reading 1 Timothy 1:12-17 After the reading there is a period of silence, at the end of which the reader says
This is the Word of God.
Thanks be to God.

The Gospel We stand.
Hear the Gospel of our Savior Christ, according to Luke (15:1-10).
Glory to you, Lord Jesus Christ.
Conclusion
This is the Gospel of the Lord.
Praise to you, Lord Jesus Christ.
Homily Creed
We stand.
Our God is the God of all humans,
the God of heaven and earth,
the God of sea and rivers,
the God of the sun and moon,
the God of all the heavenly bodies,
the God of the lofty mountains,
the God of the lowly valleys.
God is above the heavens;
and he is beneath the heavens.
Heaven and earth and sea,
and everything that is in them,
such he has as his abode.
He inspires all things, he gives life to all things,
he stands above all things,
and he stands beneath all things.
He enlightens the light of the sun,
he strengthens the light of the night and the stars,
he makes wells in the arid land
and dry islands in the sea,
and he places the stars in the service of the greater lights.
He has a Son who is co-eternal with himself;
and similar in all respects to himself;
and neither is the Son younger than the Father,
nor is the Father older than the Son;
and the Holy Spirit breathes in them.
And the Father and the Son and Holy Spirit
are inseparable.
Amen.
10
The Prayers The intercessor calls us to prayer with this bidding
Blessed God, whose love calls the whole creation into covenant with you,
and who puts in our hands responsibility for the care of the earth and its creatures:
we pray for all to whom you have given life and being, saying
God of love and mercy,
Hear our prayer.
We stand, kneel or sit.
Concluding prayer
God of light, illumine the hearts of our souls.
Christ of flame, kindle us to love.
Spirit of fire, renew us, guide us,
and free us to live this day and forever.
Amen.
The Lord’s Prayer Our Father in heaven,
hallowed be your Name,
your kingdom come,
your will be done,
on earth as in heaven.
Give us today our daily bread.
Forgive us our sins as we forgive those
who sin against us.
Save us from the time of trial,
and deliver us from evil.
For the kingdom, the power,
and the glory are yours,
now and for ever.
Amen.
11
The Peace The Peace of the Lord be with you always;
and also with you.
Announcements Offertory
Let us gather our gifts together and offer them to God in gratitude and praise.
Music “The New Land,” Guy Carawan & Evan Carawan. Appalachian and Irish Tunes on
Hammer Dulcimer.
Eucharistic Prayer
We are the body of Christ.
His Spirit is with us.
Let us lift up our hearts.
We lift them to the Lord.
Let us give thanks to the Lord our God.
It is right to give our thanks and praise.
We give thanks for your son, Jesus Christ,
through whom your love and healing mercy
reached beyond the bounds of our prejudice,
and who is now sowing in us the seeds of faith,
that we might bring forth a rich harvest of good works.
Therefore with the whole realm of nature around us,
With earth, sea and sky,
We sing to you.
With the angels and archangels who envelop us,
With all the saints before us and beside us,
With brothers and sisters, east and west, north and south,
We sing to you.
And with our loved ones, separate from us now,
who yet, in this mystery are close to us,
We sing the hymn of unending praise:
Holy, holy, holy Lord, God of power and might,
heaven and earth are full of your glory.
Hosanna in the highest.
Blessed is the one who comes in the name of the Lord.
Hosanna in the highest.
12
Blessed are you, O God, by whose Word the heavens were formed
and the earth brought forth from the waters.
Your glory is reflected in all creation
and from you flow springs of living water
from which every creature draws life.
Blessed are you and blessed is your Son, Jesus,
who went down into the deep waters of death,
taking with him our guilt and fear,
and who was born again from the depths
with the divine word thundering in his ears,
declaring him to be the one in whom earth and heaven are reconciled.
We bless you for Christ,
whose love like an ever flowing stream
floods over every boundary or border
that separates us from one another;
who calls us to plunge into his mercy
and draws us forth as new creatures,
declared with power to be pleasing to God
and anointed with Spirit holy
to proclaim your reign in all the earth.
Blessed is our brother Jesus,
bone of our bone and flesh of our flesh;
who, on the night when he was betrayed,
took bread, gave thanks, broke it, and said:
"This is my body, which is for you.
Do this to remember me."
In the same way also the cup, after supper, saying:
"This cup is the new covenant in my blood.
Do this, whenever you drink it, to remember me."
So, as we eat this bread and drink this cup,
we proclaim the mystery of our faith:
Christ has died;
Christ is risen;
Christ will come again.
13
Therefore, here in this place,
we celebrate the life that was born at Bethlehem,
the life that Jesus has shared among his community through the centuries,
And shares with us now.
Made one with him, and thus one with each other,
we lay before you these gifts of bread and wine,
in token of our sacrifice of praise and thanksgiving,
for here we offer and present to you ourselves,
our bodies, minds and spirits,
to be a holy and continuous sacrifice to you.
Come now, O Spirit of Christ,
Brood over these bodily things,
this bread and this wine.
May they be for us your body and blood,
Vibrant with life,
Healing, renewing and making us whole.
And embrace us with your life-giving power,
that as bread and wine are made one with us,
we may become one with you,
Bone of your bone,
Flesh of your flesh,
living our prayer and praying our life
until love and fidelity embrace,
peace and justice kiss,
and all are free as Christ is free.
The Breaking of the Bread The Leader breaks the bread. A moment of silence is kept.
“I am the bread which has come down from
heaven,” says the Lord.
Give us this bread for ever.
“I am the vine, you are the branches.”
May we dwell in him, as he lives in us.
Invitation God’s gifts for God’s people.
14
The Communion All who seek God are welcome to the Lord’s Table to receive the bread and wine.
We approach the Altar beginning with those sitting in the last rows; they shall be first.
Kneel or stand in front of the Altar rail, holding out your hands to receive the bread.
When the minister offers the wine, guide the chalice by carefully holding its base, or you
may dip the bread into the cup.
Our bread is handmade. If you prefer a wafer, please ask your server.
Communion Music “Mo Ghile Mear,” Deirbhile Ní Bhrolcháin. Celtic Woman 2.
“Blessed Trinity,” Sammy Horner. The Best Celtic Worship.

Prayer of Thanksgiving We stand.
Father, we have broken the bread
which is Christ's body,
we have tasted the wine of his new life.
We thank you for these gifts
by which we are made one in him
and drawn into that new creation
which is your will for all mankind;
through him who died for us
and rose again,
your Son, our Savior Jesus Christ.
Amen.
15
Closing Hymn We repeat sing the refrain twice after verse 4.
16
Dismissal Let us go forth,
In the goodness of our merciful Father,
In the gentleness of our brother Jesus,
In the radiance of his Holy Spirit,
In the faith of the apostles,
In the joyful praise of the angels,
In the holiness of the saints,
In the courage of the martyrs.
Thanks be to God. Alleluia.
