Founding Fathers
John Adams was know for being the second president of the United States.
Benjamin Franklin was know for inventing bifocals.
Thomas Jefferson was the author of the Declaration of Independence.
George Washington was the very first president of the United States.
3 Regions of the 13 Colonies
New England: Massachusetts, Connecticut, New Hampshire, and Rhode Island
Middle Colonies: New York, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Delaware
Southern Colonies: Maryland, Virginia, North and South Carolina, and Georgia
What Made Them Unique
New England had fishing, whaling, trapping, shipbuilding , and logging
The Southern Colonies had rice, indigo, tobacco, sugarcane, cotton, and farming
The middle colonies had logging, shipbuilding,
textiles, production, papermaking, barley, wheat, oats, and rye
Jobs and Tools
Weavers grow in
prominence when
embargos ban
imported cloth,
silversmith had to
know how to shape
there materials
with artistic talent,
taste, and design.
For
tools
they
used
augers,
and
saws.
Homes
Rich colonists usually live in large homes and on plantations.
Poor colonists lived in small houses that only have one room.
Middle class colonists lived in small house but they were bigger than the poor colonists houses.
