$500 from the Edwardsville Community Foundation (ECF) for service
to the community over the past 42 years. With their award, the Center is
featured in their Community Sharing Campaign to help raise funds for a
new parking lot at the Center. Donate to the campaign by paying online

NUTRITION PROGRAMS
HOME-DELIVERED MEALS
Main Street Community Center has been serving home-delivered meals
to residents of Edwardsville and Glen Carbon for over 35 years.
Meals are prepared by a certified local caterer and delivered by trained,
caring volunteers who provide a check-in with clients Monday-Friday.
Cost is only $4.00/meal and is billed monthly. A refundable deposit of
$75 is required at registration.

CONGREGATE MEALS
The Center serves congregate meals two days a week: Tuesdays and
Fridays from 11:00am-12:30pm. Cost is $5.00/meal. Friends Discount
Members receive a discounted price of $4.00/meal.
Advance reservations are required by contacting the Center by 12 noon
the day before: (618) 656-0300 or [email protected].

TRANSPORTATION PROGRAM
“The Community Center bus has made a huge difference. It is reliable, on time, and you always know when they will be there. Also, scheduling the bus is easy!” Cassie, 40, cannot drive due to a disability. She uses the bus to get to her workplace in the community.
Main Street Community Center has offered Door-to-Door Transportation for seniors and disabled adults
for over 30 years, offering local rides to Center activities, medical appointments, pharmacies, grocery
stores, beauty shop/barber shop, shopping centers, government offices, volunteer and paid work
locations, and much more.
Riders must be 60 (+) years of age or disabled, including part-time disability due to an injury or surgery.
Rides are scheduled by appointments and are offered Monday through Friday from 8:00am-3:00pm.
There are no required bus fees to ride, only a suggested donation of $1.00/one-way ride.

STATE HEALTH INSURANCE ASSISTANCE PROGRAM
(SHIP)
Provided by Edwardsville Township
A FREE state-wide health insurance counseling service for Medicare
beneficiaries and their caregivers.
PARALEGAL SERVICES
Provided by Land of Lincoln Legal Assistance Foundation
A paralegal will meet with qualified seniors by appointment.
Qualifications include:
60 (+) years of age
Counties served include Bond, Clinton, Madison, Monroe, St. Clair, Randolph and Washington
Some restrictions apply
Home interviews available for those unable to come to the Center for assistance.
RULES OF THE ROAD REVIEW COURSES Provided by Illinois Secretary of State’s Office Course is designed to give drivers – especially senior citizens and persons with disabilities – the knowledge and confidence needed to renew or obtain a driver's license. Registration required. AARP SMART DRIVING COURSE Provided by AARP This 8-hour course will assist students with the following:
Effective safe driving practices, skills and strategies you can use on the road every day
Illinois state laws and traffic rules for drivers
How to deal with aggressive drivers
Proper maintenance of your vehicle so it's safe before you drive Registration required. $15 AARP Members, $20 Non-Members. Course completion may qualify you for a discount through your insurance company.

selection of the month and associated topics. Club members contribute to
the book selections, so each club has its own “personality”.
