The Sisters of St. Agnes gathered for the
blessing and dedicat ion of a
commemorative prayer garden in May.
After 86 years of service to the Elmhurst
community, the impact of the work of the
sisters remains strong in several
generations of students. The sisters continue to minister in
other communities throughout the nation, laying the
groundwork for faith-based services and empowering others to
carry on their mission of service.
Left: Father Tom Paul, pastor of Immaculate Conception
Parish, presided over the blessing and dedication of the prayer garden prior to the Mass
and reception honoring the work of the sisters for the parish and schools for many years.

Thank You Organizers, Volunteers, Staff & Board Members!
The Sisters of St. Agnes wish to ex-
press a heartfelt thank you to all
those who helped to make the reun-
ion in Elmhurst heartwarming and
memorable! We were honored by
the recognition of our 86 years of
ministry in Elmhurst.
“Experiencing the deep affection
and beloved memories of the people
of Immaculate Conception for the
Sisters of St. Agnes was such a de-
lightful and supportive gift for our
congregation,” shared Sister Joann
Sambs, general superior. “The
genuine vitality and faith-filled spirit
of the parish and school affirms that
the seeds of faith which our sisters
planted by their presence and min-
istry continue to bear fruit.”
The Knight of Jewels Gala on April
21-22 and the 75th Anniversary
celebration, liturgy, and reception
on May 6 were well organized by
staff from Immaculate Conception
High School, board members, and
numerous volunteers.
The sisters are truly grateful for the
generous hospitality and friendship,
as well as for the opportunity to re-
visit and reconnect with those
whose lives have been touched by
their mission and ministries.
“It was amazing to see how much
the parish has developed into the
new realities of the 21st century,”
noted Sister Dolores Lytle, who par-
ticipated in the reunion events. “I
have always treasured my letters
that were exchanged when the sis-
ters left Elmhurst, and these cele-
brations fulfilled the prophecy in
those letters that the parishioners
of Immaculate Conception were
ready and willing to grow the parish
into a sustainable sign of God’s
presence in the community.”
Blessings to all who helped to make
this event possible and who partici-
pated in the wonderful celebration
of the school and the impact of the
work of the sisters.

and inspiration for several
generations.
On May 6th, a commemorative prayer
garden was blessed and dedicated to
the Congregation of Sisters of St.
Agnes in honor of their 86 years of
