THANK YOU TO OUR 2013 JUNIOR LIVESTOCK AUCTION BUYERS
Why Support the Sale?Your purchase of a market animal will help support our youth in a two-fold educational program. They are learning to provide quality meat products for human consumption, and how to be in business for themselves. You can help them achieve success and continue food production by supporting our exhibitors during the Junior Livestock Auction. For the price you pay today, you will receive high quality meat, good inexpensive advertising, plus the personal satisfaction of investing in the future of America.
Individuals:Provide your family with quality meats throughout the year for barbecues and everyday consumption. Share an animal with a friend.
Service Clubs & Lodges:Host a club barbecue. Donate meat to your favorite organization or charity. Boost club treasury by holding a raffle.
Businesses:Present meat to your best customers or
as an employee bonus. Host a barbecue for employees.
Restaurants & Markets:Advertise and serve local quality meat. Use your Junior Livestock buyer’s photo in your displays. Publicize Monterey County Fair Junior Livestock Auction quality meat in your advertising campaign.
Public Relations:Support the youth of today, who will be the buyers of tomorrow. Display your buyer’s photo in your place of business or be a sponsor that will contribute any amount to this important program.
How to Participate at the AuctionCome to the Sale: On August 30th, come to the sale and select the animal(s) of your choice and do your own bidding. You may have your animal(s) processed for your freezer or arranged for resale at market price (see Bid/Resale below).
Place an Order:Contact Kelly Violini, Auction Chair, with the enclosed form, or call her at (831) 372-5863. The Committee will bid on an animal at your stipulated price.
Payment:Now accepting payments day of! Pay with your credit card, check, or cash before you leave.
Bid/Resale:If you want to participate in helping but you have no need for meat, the Auction Buyers Committee will resell the animal at market price. You pay only the difference between the sale price and the current market price. This “premium” amount has been accepted by the IRS as a deductible expense.
Because of the limited delivery from the processing houses, the Buyer Committee asks that you select one of the following companies: • Corralitos Market • Star Market • Freedom Lockers
