2019 Parent Survey Attached to the newsletter today is a 2019 parent feedback survey. We aim for continuous improvement and your feed-back is a vital part of informing our decisions into the future. If you can take 5-10 minutes to answer the questions and add any other feedback you would like to share, it would be very much appreciated. We hope to get a large representa-tion of our parents, whether you are very happy, not so happy, or anything in between. The survey is anonymous.

RFS Fire Fundraiser We were overwhelmed by your generosity yesterday. Our out of uniform day for the RFS raised over $500! This will be taken to Paterson Tavern to be included in the money that they raise in their fund raising event on Saturday. Our students were given the opportunity to discuss their experiences during the fire threat during class time and have been offered additional support outside the classroom if they need it. We will continue to monitor our students and offer targeted sup-port if necessary. Please feel free to give us a call if you have any concerns.

We also had the amazing experience of getting close to Gerry, the water bombing helicopter. It landed at the oval and we took all interested students over to watch them refuel, do their safety checks and take off. We then met Brian and Rylan, two fire fighters from Canada. Our students were able to express their appreciation for their work.

Swimming School Swimming school finishes this week. Many thanks to our wonderful teachers who accompanied the students every day and supported them so well to settle in to a routine and get the most out of each lesson.

Library Books Please help your child look for all library books that may be at home as all returns are due next week. Overdue notices will be issued next week.

Uniform Orders for 2020 If you need any new uniforms ready for next year, please submit the order form as soon as possible to allow it to be filled before the end of the school year.

Head and Heart Mindfulness Our Mindfulness program has finished for the year. Our students have responded very well to the exercises and we have had positive feedback from a range of sources. We will continue with the program next year in order to further build resili-ence, positive thinking, and add new strategies for proactive mental health care.

Presentation Night We are looking forward to our presentation night on Tuesday, 10th December at 6.30pm at Tocal Hall. For those families who haven’t attended before, we ask that all students from K-6 attend in full school uniform. Every student will receive a certificate and will participate in a whole school performance. It would be much appreciated if families could bring a plate to share for supper.

STEAM Day Our final STEAM day for the year will take place on Thursday, 12th December. If you have a Science, Technology, Engineer-ing, Art, or Mathematics challenge or activity you would like to share with our students, or if you would like to assist one of our teachers with a sometimes messy but fun and interesting activity, please contact the office to let us know.

Planning for 2020 We are currently in the final stages of planning our classes for 2020. If you believe your child may not return to our school next year, we would appreciate it if you could let us know as soon as you can.

Holiday Contacts Following the period between Christmas and the new year, our school phone will be checked at least once a week. If you need someone to return a phone call, please leave a message. All staff return to school on Tuesday, 28 th January (not Feb-ruary as I wrote last week – wishful thinking), the day before students return.

With thank, Mrs Hazell
