June 5th Update Dear Trinity community, Thank you Fr. Dion for celebrating our Senior Liturgy on Monday, June 1, with our seniors in the building. Although it was not the same without having all students present to celebrate the seniors last school wide Liturgy, we were able to share it virtually with not only the student body but with many families and alumni all across the country. Because of the live-stream, Mrs. Guerra’s heartfelt dedication of the yearbook to Mr. Dan O’Leary’s family was shared with his family and friends. Thank you Mr. Mullen, Ms. Montgomery, and Mrs. Schwamb for your work on another outstanding Awards Night and to our emcees Estella Raya-Fouts and Amou Malwal who did an excellent job. Also thank you Patrick Dunn, Hunter El-Azem, Gage Dyche, and John Cicerallo on and outstanding live-stream production. One last thank you to Mr. Connell and all the spring coaches. Through their efforts all of our senior spring athletes had an opportunity to be recognized for their commitment to Trinity. June 8 - 10 will be the time for underclassmen to empty their lockers. The building will be open between 5:00pm and 7:00pm. Freshmen should come Monday, sophomores Tuesday, and juniors Wednesday. Students should enter the building through the main entrance. We will limit the number of students in the building at one time, and all students will need to wear masks. If a student is being driven to school by someone else, the student should be dropped off in the front of building, and the driver should then park in the side or back parking lot to wait. If a student is driving himself/herself, please park in the side or back parking lot. Students will empty their lockers of everything they want to take. Anything left behind will be discarded. Students will also receive their yearbooks and any award from Awards Night. Seniors will receive their awards at commencement. Our Baccalaureate Liturgy will be live-streamed at 7:00pm on Thursday, June 11. Being a Catholic high school, the Baccalaureate Liturgy is an integral part of us celebrating our

Dear Trinity community,

Thank you Fr. Dion for celebrating our Senior Liturgy on Monday, June 1, with our seniors in the building. We will celebrate commencement on June 12 beginning at 7:00pm. Attendance is limited to seniors and their parents, but you may join us via live-stream at https://www.facebook.com/trinityhighschoolnh/live. Detailed instructions will be emailed early next week.

Please remember June 12 is also the last day for underclassmen.

The Diocese of Manchester Catholic Schools is making available a Fair Trade website that is a fundraising opportunity for its schools. You may visit the Fair Trade website via https://www.trinity-hs.org/advancement/fundraiser.cfm

Lastly, today is the last day of classes for our seniors.

Seniors - It is disappointing that we are not here today together to share in the excitement of the last day. You have shown great resilience and character as you stayed the course over the last three months. You should be proud of all of your accomplishments and thank God for making you the person you are today.

The Prayer of Saint Francis of Assisi

Lord, make me an instrument of Thy peace;

Where there is hatred, let me sow charity;

Where there is injury, pardon;

Where there is error, the truth;

Where there is doubt, the faith;

Where there is despair, hope;

Where there is darkness, light;

and Where there is sadness, joy.

O, Divine Master, Grant that I may not so much seek to be consoled, as to console;

To be understood as to understand;

To be loved as to love;

For it is in giving that we receive;

It is in pardoning that we are pardoned;

And it is in dying to ourselves that we are born to eternal life. Amen

Dear Trinity community,

I want to thank the Manchester Health Department for giving us permission to have our seniors in the building for our Senior Farewell Liturgy and Assembly. Although there will be social distancing guidelines in place with only eight or nine students in a classroom, seniors will be able to gather in the school one last time as a the Class of 2020. They will also be able to receive their senior candles keeping with a long standing Trinity tradition.

Additionally, they will receive their NH Scholar’s Medal which they can wear at graduation. The Liturgy will be followed by the yearbook dedication and senior slideshow. Please join us online on Monday, June 1, 9:00 at https://www.facebook.com/trinityhighschoolnh/live. Seniors will empty their lockers as they are dismissed.

After the dedication and slideshow (around 10:30 to 11:00) the underclassmen will conduct their class elections via Zoom. Underclassmen should receive an invitation to the meeting from Ms. Comiskey.

Also, please note if you are a senior spring athlete Mr. Connell or your spring coach should have contacted you regarding “senior night.” Senior spring athletes will be recognized at the field either Monday, June 1 (baseball/softball - 5:00, spring track - 5:45, girls lacrosse - 6:30, boys lacrosse - 7:15), or Wednesday, June 3 (boys tennis - 5:00, girls tennis - 5:45). This is a senior only event, and Mr. Connell emailed information to seniors earlier. If you have any questions, please contact him at [email protected].

On June 2, 7:00pm, we will recognize our student successes with Trinity Awards Night. It will be live-streamed https://www.facebook.com/trinityhighschoolnh/live with our award winners announced by various donors and faculty members with photos of recipients displayed.

Seniors will have their day of reflection via Zoom on June 3. Seniors will not attend classes, but freshmen through juniors will have classes as usual. June 5 will be the last day of classes for seniors.

June 8 - 10 will be the time for underclassmen to empty their lockers. Students will be invited into the building with a limited number at a time between 5:00pm and 7:00pm. Freshmen will be Monday, sophomores Tuesday, and juniors Wednesday. We

May 15th update:

Dear Trinity community,

Page 9: th Update - Trinity High School important docs/Website...seniors in the building for our Senior Farewell Liturgy and Assembly. Although there will ... they will receive their NH Scholar’s

Over this past weekend the NHIAA released the names of their 2020 Senior Scholar Athlete Award recipients, and Trinity had over 20 seniors recognized. The recipients earned at least a 3.25 cumulative GPA and played (or informed Mr. Connell they intended to play) two varsity sports their senior year. You can view the NHIAA prepared slideshow on our Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/trinityhighschoolnh/videos/vb.124839650860582/240343277233075/?type=2&theater . Congratulations to all of our award recipients.

I mentioned in last week’s update that on June 1 after the farewell liturgy and assembly, we will gather (via Zoom) the underclassmen by grade to have class elections. However, I directed interested students to the wrong advisor. If you are interested in being a class officer for next year you need to submit your name and speech to next year’s advisor by May 27. Class of ’23 should email Mrs. Doyle. Class of ’22 should email Mrs. LeBlond. Class of ’21 should email Mrs. Doyle or Ms. Comiskey.

Thursday, May 21, is the Solemnity of Ascension. Please visit the diocesan website for live-streaming services.

On Friday, May 22, Trinity is hosting a blood drive for the Red Cross. It is by appointment only, and I am happy to report that all time slots are filled.

Plans are in the works in regards to a senior celebration and graduation. We are currently trying to get approval from the Department of Health which may or may not happen. In the meantime save the dates for May 29 (rain date June 5) and June 12.

Seniors, Mr. Smith and I were going to try to surprise you by dropping off yard signs and caps and gowns, but knowing we have over 460 miles and over 14 hours of travel time we wanted you to be aware that we’ll be “knocking on your door” sometime next week. Please be on the lookout for the Trinity bus as we crisscross New Hampshire.

God’s Peace,

Steve Gadecki

POPE FRANCIS

Prayer to Mary, Mother of the Church and Mother of our faith*

Mother, help our faith! Open our ears to hear God’s word and to recognize his voice and call. Awaken in us a desire to follow in his footsteps, to go forth from our own land and to receive his promise. Help us to be touched by his love, that we may touch him in faith. Help us to entrust ourselves fully to him and to believe in his love, especially at times of trial, beneath the shadow of the cross, when our faith is called to mature. Sow in our faith the joy of the Risen One. Remind us that those who believe are never alone. Teach us to see all things with the eyes of Jesus, that he may be light for our path. And may this light of faith always increase in us, until the dawn of that undying day which is Christ himself, your Son, our Lord!

*Prayer to Mary at the conclusion of the Encyclical Lumen Fidei (29 June 2013)

May 8th update

Dear Trinity community,

I hope everyone was able to relax and recharge during the April break. Although none of us has experienced one like this before, I did find it a chance to decompress and refocus. While on break, our robotics team of Chris Chow, Jasper Fougere, and Patrick Shevchik placed 5th in their division in the World Vex Competition. This was a virtual competition between all of the teams that qualified for the world championships. It is indicative of the quality of the robot they designed and produced. Chris, Jasper and Patrick well done and congratulations.

I also want to thank all of the families that contributed gift cards, scratch tickets, money, letters and prayers. Of course everyone enjoys the cards, tickets and cash, but what truly is appreciated are the thoughts that are shared and the warm feelings conveyed in your prayers. I need to especially thank Kara Maslowski, Nicki Rosenthall, and Lisa Twitchell for collecting, packaging and shipping the gifts to the faculty and staff. Usually the parents provide a lunch to culminate the week, and due to your generosity and the opening of restaurants, the faculty and staff will gather (with appropriate restrictions) for an end of the year luncheon at the Derryfield - Thank you.

We are still trying to finalize ideas and plans for some end of the year activities but one event will go on as scheduled. We will celebrate the Senior Farewell Liturgy and Assembly on June 1. It will be shared virtually beginning at 9:00, and we will have a modified class schedule. We will proceed with the Awards Night as schedule on June 2 at 7:00pm, and it will be live streamed. We are formulating plans for graduation cognizant of the governor’s guidelines.

On June 1 after the farewell liturgy and assembly, we will gather (via Zoom) the underclassmen by grade to have class elections. If you are a student interested in pursuing an office, you need to inform your current class advisor ([email protected] (freshmen), [email protected] (sophomores), [email protected] (juniors)) and provide them with your speech by Wednesday, May 27. Also, Ms. Comiskey will be sending out more information, but if you are in the Class of 2021 or 2022 and interested in being part of the orientation team, applications for this team will need to be returned by May 22.

Please remember to join us Monday’s at 1:00 for praying of the rosary and Friday’s at 1:00 for the Chaplet of Divine Mercy. These Zoom gatherings always help me to keep things in proper perspective, and it is especially nice to see students praying with us.

Friday at 1:00 - The Chaplet of Divine Mercy

The following is Bishop Libasci’s Easter message:

OFFICE OF THE BISHOP DIOCESE OF MANCHESTER

Page 16: th Update - Trinity High School important docs/Website...seniors in the building for our Senior Farewell Liturgy and Assembly. Although there will ... they will receive their NH Scholar’s

I am the light of the world; he who follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of

life (Jn. 8:12).

My Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

On that first Easter night, Jesus appeared to the disciples, “even though the doors and windows of

the place where they were staying were locked.” Fear for their very lives brought them to the

natural survival instinct to “shelter in place”. We are, undoubtedly, living in a time of grave

uncertainty. Our daily lives have changed drastically as we are unable to see our loved ones in

person and cannot experience the healing power of the Eucharist.

But nothing, no fear, no locked doors, no quarantine, no separation prevents the Lord Himself from

making His presence known in our midst even while we are locked up in our shelters. His words are

“Peace” “Do not be afraid. It is I” “Put your finger into the nail marks; put your hand into my side.

Do not persist in your unbelief, but believe.”

Christ crucified is Christ truly risen. He understands our fear and leads us to confront fear with

Faith. Throughout the Old and the New Testaments we read of the great victories of men and

women who confronted fear with a sometimes wavering and sometimes resolute Faith. How heroic

that faith is! Let the eternal victory of Our Lord Jesus restore your bravery through belief - deeply

renewed belief in Him. In the midst of anxieties and fears, we can find courage through our belief

because Jesus rose from the dead. It is from the darkness that Christ resurrects and reverses death.

At this Easter Season, which we observe in the manner of and in union with those first disciples, we

look out our windows in the direction of the whole world and pray: “May the heart of Jesus present

in the Most Blessed Sacrament, be praised, adored and loved with grateful affection, at every

moment, in all the Tabernacles of the world even to the end of time.”

And so, as we mark these joyous days of Jesus’ Resurrection from the dead, and until the Holy

Spirit bids the world to come alive again, I pray: “May these days not be marked by our

disappointment, but by sharing Jesus’ joy in victory over the snares of the devil. ‘Christ is risen

from the dead. By death He conquered death and bestowed life upon those in the tomb’.

May the peace and blessing of Almighty God, the Father + the Son + and the Holy Spirit + descend

upon you and remain with you forever and ever. Amen.”

Sincerely in Christ,

Most Reverend Peter A. Libasci Bishop of Manchester

The following prayer is from the US Conference of Catholic Bishops

Covid-19: A Prayer of Solidarity

For all who have contracted coronavirus, We pray for care and healing.

For those who are particularly vulnerable, We pray for safety and

protection. For all who experience fear or anxiety, We pray for peace of

mind and spirit.

For affected families who are facing difficult decisions between food on the table or public

safety, We pray for policies that recognize their plight.

Page 18: th Update - Trinity High School important docs/Website...seniors in the building for our Senior Farewell Liturgy and Assembly. Although there will ... they will receive their NH Scholar’s

For those who do not have adequate health insurance, We pray that no family

will face financial burdens alone.

For those who are afraid to access care due to immigration status, We pray for

recognition of the God-given dignity of all.

For our brothers and sisters around the world, We pray for shared solidarity.

For public officials and decisionmakers, We pray for wisdom and guidance.

Father, during this time may your Church be a sign of hope, comfort and love to

March 23 Update

Remote Learning Timeline:

As of today, the governor has directed that all public schools be closed through April 3.

However, given the information that is available, it is very likely that we will continue remote

instruction much longer than April 3, but it is difficult to speculate as to the actual length. We

will provide as much notice as possible regarding the return to school.

Remote Learning:

I commend our students and faculty for the quick installation of remote learning. On Tuesday,

94% of our students were engaged online. Mr. Smith called the 6%, and on Wednesday 100% of

our students were able to connect. Please remember that students should treat online meeting

times as a “regular school day” as attendance is recorded. Should students

encounter technical

issues, please contact Zach Gray at [email protected] or directly at 668-2910 ext 233. He

will resolve issues as quickly as possible.

Cancellations/Postponements:

Any school event that is scheduled while we are conducting remote learning will either be

canceled or postponed. If an event is canceled, when school resumes we will evaluate whether it

can be rescheduled in one form or another. Also, please note that some events are canceled even

if they are after the April 3 date as there would not be ample time to prepare when we return.

• Bingo - resumption will be dependent on the national government’s suggestion of no more

than 10 people gather.

• Arena scheduling for the Class of 2024 - the guidance department will call all registered

students to determine placement. Placement tests for math and world language are postponed

with a makeup date to be determined later.

• Gala - currently rescheduled for June 5.

• Fashion Show - Canceled - Two major factors for the cancellation at this time. The first and

most impactful is that TJ Maxx has canceled all “donations” to the show due to

the coronavirus. Secondly, some suppliers had fitting deadlines before April 3.

• Freshman Yard Sale - We do not want to unnecessarily expose our community or the general

public.

School Office:

Most of the support staff will be working remotely as well. If you call the main office, please

leave a message. These messages will be monitored remotely, and we will get back to you as

soon as possible.

Graduation/Prom:

At this moment, our goal is to keep events on the dates that they are scheduled. If the campus

closure extends and affects these dates we will evaluate how we can still celebrate our seniors.

Page 22: th Update - Trinity High School important docs/Website...seniors in the building for our Senior Farewell Liturgy and Assembly. Although there will ... they will receive their NH Scholar’s

Testing:

• The March 25, statewide SAT for juniors is canceled. We are waiting for information from the

state as to when or if it will be rescheduled.

• Individual test dates for the ACT and SAT are being canceled. You should receive notification

for any specific tests that you have registered.

• Information from the College Board for AP Exams can be accessed via the following link

https://apstudents-stg.collegeboard.org/coronavirus-updates

Athletics:

Mr. Connell shared this earlier, but the following dates are tentative and contingent on the April 3

date. Spring sports would begin practices on April 13 with games commencing on April 27.

Because of the truncated season, all teams would make the post season tournament.

Prayer:

O Christ Jesus

When all is darkness

And we feel our weakness and helplessness,

Give us the sense of Your Presence,

Your Love and Your Strength.

Help us to have perfect trust

In Your protecting love

And strengthening power,

So that nothing may frighten or worry us,

For, living close to You,

We shall see Your Hand,

Your Purpose, Your Will through all things.

Amen

Google Classroom

Students must have access to their Trinity email addresses and not personal email accounts, or they will not be able to use the Google Classroom or other tools included in the Google Suite. If for any reason they do not have access to their Trinity email account the students or parents should inform Zach Gray, our IT manager, at [email protected] from their personal accounts and he will reset their password and walk them through regaining access.

Students will want to also make sure notifications are turned on for Google Classroom. The following link will assist with this for phones as well as laptops.

Activities

Page 23: th Update - Trinity High School important docs/Website...seniors in the building for our Senior Farewell Liturgy and Assembly. Although there will ... they will receive their NH Scholar’s

There are no school sponsored activities while we are conducting remote learning. Currently, the NHIAA has suspended the spring season and will determine how it will proceed based on when in building instruction resumes. Since the reason to move to remote learning is to provide social distancing, there should be no student organized preseason workouts.

Schedule

On Wednesday, March 18, we will begin our remote schedule. Each day we will meet with four classes, and additionally each teacher will have “office hours” for all students. It is important that students participate in each class. Additionally, each class regardless of whether it meets will have work that will need to be done daily. Daily work is due each morning by 8:00am. If necessary we will adjust this schedule.

Building Access

The building door code will be deactivated Monday, March 16. Please contact Mrs. Lisa Twitchell at [email protected] to access the building.

Tech Support

Zach Gray will be available daily 8:00 to 2:00 for tech support. You may reach him via phone at 668-2910 ext 233 or [email protected].

Guidance Update

The Guidance Counselors are available to meet with any student regarding scheduling, 4-year academic planning and college planning. Ms. Montgomery and Mr. Mullen are available for individual appointments throughout the day. Students should email their Guidance Counselor to request a meeting and the meeting will be conducted via Zoom or Google Hangouts. The Guidance Team is eager to continue to work with students during this on-line learning period.

We have not yet heard back regarding the plan for the March 25th School Day SAT. All NH schools are in the same situation and are closed on this date. We look forward to hearing from the College Board regarding the plan for the School Day SAT. We will keep you updated as we learn information.

Accepted Student Days: As you could imagine, colleges and universities have postponed accepted student days. Please have your student check their email and portal accounts from their accepted colleges regarding the status of these events. Consequently, some colleges have already elected to postpone the Deposit Deadline to June 1st. Your student should monitor their email and portal accounts from their respective colleges and information should also be available on each college's website

College Tours and Campus Visits: As of last week, colleges were still doing tours and campus visits (in small groups); however, with the developments over the weekend - we are seeing many colleges opting to cancel tours over the next few weeks. We strongly encourage you to check with the college first before deciding to visit a college and do ask you to reflect upon whether this visit needs to be done during this unique time in our nation’s history as we practice appropriate social distancing. We are all very hopeful that we will quickly get past this point in time by working together as a community and can return to normalcy -- including visiting colleges.
