Prelude: “Thanks Be To God” Marilyn Thompson
Words of Welcome and Announcements
Introit “God Welcome All” John L. Bell, S. African Song
*Call to Worship Let the righteous be joyful! Ps. 68:1-10, 32-35 Let them rejoice before God. Let us all be jubilant with joy!
Sing to God, all peoples of the world. Sing praises to God most high. From the sanctuary of heaven, God gives life and renews the face of the earth.
Let the righteous be joyful! Let them rejoice before God. Let us all be jubilant with joy!
*Prayer of the Day Redeeming God, you call us to be one with you, as you are one with Christ.
As his perfect love casts out our fear, and changes it to love, unite us by your Spirit of peace, that we may be one with you, as you are one with Christ. Amen.
*Hymn No. 246 “Christ Is Alive” TRURO Page 2
*Invitation to Confession Brothers and sisters, 1 Pet. 5:7 God not only desires our repentance, but longs to offer forgiveness. Therefore, cast all your anxiety on God, because God cares for you eternally.
*Prayer of Confession Loving God, we confess that we do not always bring honor and glory to your name. We are rebellious and weak; we flee before your goodness. Forgive, restore, and strengthen us by the grace and mercy of Christ, that we may rise up again in peace to love and serve your world. Amen.
*Sung Kyrie
*Assurance of Forgiveness Sisters and brothers, 1 Pet. 4:14; 5:6-10 the Spirit of God is resting on you, to restore, support, and strengthen you. Therefore, be at peace in the One who forgives and loves you; rise up and give God thanks. Alleluia! Amen. *Gloria Patri Glory to God, No. 581

*Affirmation of Faith The Apostles’ Creed I believe in God the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth, and in Jesus Christ his only Son our Lord; who was conceived by the Holy Ghost, born of the virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried; he descended into hell. The third day he rose again from the dead; he ascended into heaven, and sitteth on the right hand of God the Father almighty, from thence he shall come to judge the quick and the dead. I believe in the Holy Ghost; the holy catholic church; the communion of saints; the forgiveness of sins; the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen.

kiva.org is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that brings people together to give micro loans (usually $25 each) to people in order to help them help themselves. Here’s an example of how it works:
Maria in Equador needs another dairy cow to increase her production and make more money with her dairy farm. However,
things are tight so she doesn’t have the money on hand to invest in a cow. Therefore, she applies for a loan through kiva.org where
people like you can loan $25 (or more) to help give Maria the money to purchase the cow. Thanks to the loans from kiva.org, Maria can purchase the cow. Once the cow begins producing, Maria pays back
the loan to kiva.org where the money you loaned goes back into your account. You can then either withdraw the money or re-loan it
to another borrower.Want to join the SIPC KIVA team?
Go to sipchurch.org/missions/kiva and follow the directions at the bottom of the page.
To date, the SIPC KIVA Team has loaned $6,775 through 233 loans in 51 different countries!
The SIPC KIVA Team has challenged the congregation to reach a total of $8,000 by Labor Day! Only $1,225 left to go!
