DESCRIPTION

#TFT Presentation: To improve is to change, to be perfect is to change often. Today, technological change is happening at an increasingly rapid rate and if we are striving for perfection, we need to change often. Without the ability to change quickly and efficiently we are doomed to be left behind, overtaken, or gobbled up. How are we going to prevent this happening? Well by simply replacing “If Only” with “Next Time” we can become the ones at the head of the field gobbling up the competition. The British Motorcycle

October 1946.[10][12] With a staff of 12 men working in a 172-square-foot (16.0 m2) shack, they built and sold improvised motorized bicycles, using a supply of 500 two-stroke 50 cc Tohatsu war surplus radio generator engines.[10][11][13] When the engines ran out, Honda began building their own copy of the Tohatsu engine, and supplying these to customers to attach their bicycles.[10][13] This was the Honda Model A, nicknamed the Bata Bata for the sound the engine made.[10] The first complete motorcycle, both frame and engine, and made by Honda was the 1949 Model D, the first Honda to go by the name Dream.[12] Honda Motor Company grew in a short time to become the world's largest manufacturer of motorcycles by 1964.

Nineteen fifty-nine was a peak year for the British industry: motorcycle sales and exports were at their highest levels. Flushed with their own success, most companies didn’t bother to look at emerging trends, or take stock of their aging designs. Most of the executives and designers came from pre-War days: they looked back to the glory days of the 30s, not ahead. And as such, they created some beautiful, exciting machines - many were race-oriented, however, an increasingly smaller portion of the market than manufacturers seemed to realize.
