iN the mark of CoNtiNuitYtextreme was founded in 2005 as a branch of filtex, established in 1965 in the textile district of Biella, italy, which has specialized in the production of high fashion and interior decoration fancy yarns. With textreme’s establishment we aimed to reinforce filtex’ partial presence, at the time, in the fly fishing market. Since the early 70’s the parent company has been producing a few items, designed after specific requests from Italian and foreign fly tying Customers, like the first Cactus.

textreme’s philosophy is based upon the direct produc-tion of the whole range of items in our catalog, which is now one of the most comprehensive in the industry. the needs of the most expert tyer, as well as the genuine passion of those who love this poetic world, can thus be fully satisfied. Our staff consists of skilled technicians who daily follow the various stages of processing within our plant, from the raw materials all the way through the finished product. Only the dyeing is carried out by outside certified and specialized companies, in order to achieve the perfection of color and the maximum en-vironmental and aquifer protection. Textreme directly provides packaging, stocking and delivery.

every stage of processing is ‘made in italy’, which we are proud of. more than that, yarns, plastics, cardboards and accessories of the packaging, all come from Italian and european manufacturers. all this in full compliance with the strict eu regulations governing the production pro-cesses and environmental protection. at each stage of the processing we apply a thorough quality control, so that any flaw or imperfection is immediately elimina-ted to grant our Customers the maximum satisfaction. Nothing is left to chance.attention to detail, from an excellent dyeing to an op-timized packaging design according to retailers’ and final consumers’ needs, is an asset to achieve one of

the highest quality found in the market, worldwide acknowledged. Our steadfast investment in R&D on the materials we offer, and the widening of the colour ran-ge, derive from textreme’s close cooperation with Cu-stomers who specifically operate in the fly fishing field. In every choice we make, we always keep in mind the experience that comes from the tyers. in fact, a good number of items in our catalogue have been developed from specific requests of the final consumer, who was looking for something more effective than what the market could provide at the moment. Providing a high standard final product. That’s our goal today, just as it’s always been in the past.

the proDuCtioN: our streNgth

We have worked out the spools plan taking into account the dealers’ and the distributors’ need to have easy storable packaged products, in order to optimize shipping and storage costs. this is why Box 12 has been developed. Its base and lid are made of stuck transparent plastic, built around 12 vertically positioned spools. such solution allows to immediately spot the color of the item contained in the box, which can be easily identified through its label. paired with our thread Display with its 36 rooms of 12 spools each, Box 12 makes it possible to effectively manage the stocks, with no more loose spools somewhere around the store. Every time the last spool is taken from its room, this can be easily refilled emptying Box 12 in it altogether. more than that, Box 12 allows to save money also in terms of shipping costs, because the optimal weight/volume rate directs costs toward the first value, which results in a reduced cost per unit.

the spool plaN

Box 18made of a strong semitransparent plastic, it contains 18 horizontally positioned spools. This is the best solution in order to easily find the right color for the pattern. Its practical cover hinged to the structure, and its excellent closing make this combo box one of very easy storage. accidental opening during storage or transportation are thus avoided. since Box 18 can also be used to contain small parts and accessories - such as beads, hooks and so on - it proves to be an extremely useful accessory to keep close at hand.

Snap SpoolA revolutionary snap spool has been specifically designed for the Fly Fishing market. shapes and dimensions have been tested on most of the bobbin holders on the market in order to achieve the highest compatibility on both new and old equipments. The innovative snap flange has been developed aiming at tyers’ need to always easily find the end of the thread, whose positioning prevents from accidental unwinding in the tyer’s bag or in the fly tying storage box. Spools are supplied with some turns of thread already inserted into the snap flange. Once you have finished to use it, it is extremely simple to reinsert it into the flange in order to have it ready for the next use. The finishing of the spool flanges has been thoroughly designed, and their perfectly smooth profile has been conceived to prevent from accidental thread friction and cuttings during the usage, with the bobbin holder or without it. Thread breakings are therefore unlikely to happen.

Thread DisplayMade of high-quality transparent acrylic, it has been designed thinking of ergonomics and the showing easiness of our spools. only 35x33x39 cm are enough to show up to 432 spools, allocated into 4 shelves with 9 rooms, containing 12 spools each. Its peculiar shape allows stacking: by just doubling the height, 864 spools can be displayed. Thanks to the inclination of each shelf, after removing the spool from the front of the display (specific holes allow the spool’s removal with just one finger), another one rolls forward to fill in the empty space. since the thread Display can be loaded from its back, we consider it the best solution for the dealer wishing to keep the display on the counter. It comes already assembled, ready to use, and it doesn’t need any further actions from the customers (no screwdriver and glue are needed).

The base tying thread par excellence. Designed through a particular process with parallel bonded filaments, it is a thread with an optimum tensile strength compared to its size. Its unique structure makes it an easy to use yarn for the tying of most imitations (dry flies, CDC flies, nymphs and streamers for small trouts), suggested also for thin and uniform bodies and for head closures. Version 8/0, thanks to its thin size very close to a 12/0, it is suggested for the tying of small imitations on hooks from #14 to #24. Version 6/0 is suitable for almost all the imitations on hooks ranging from size #8 to #18. Version 3/0 is well suited for big trouts and bass imitations. All three sizes are available in a range of 36 colors, either natural and fluorescent, allowing you to always find the right shade for your pattern.

Special tying thread made of high tenacity twisted filament, great tensile strength compared to its size. Thread suggested for tying any artificial. Thanks to its twisted structure with two ends, it is easy to make dubbing loop, once opened the return to its original twisted position is virtually automatic, without the aid of a twister. Version 8/0 is particularly suitable for the tying of thin bodies and for head closures, suggested for hooks from #14 to #24. Version 6/0 is recommended for hooks from #8 to #18. Flat Mylar treated with a special pigment which reacts to either solar or artificial ultraviolet light. When exposed to the ultraviolet light, it remains shiny at dark for hours. Brilliant thread with parallel filaments made of polyamide fibers slightly wavy. Fully waterproof with high buoyancy, it is an excellent material for the tying of the upper part of dry flies parachute. It also has the advantage of being a built-in strike indicator with high visibility. Natural colors can be used for tying bodies or tails, but it is also suitable for making colored and brilliant ribbings. all items in the materials section have been designed and optimized for the fly fishing market. Fibers and manufacturing processes, colors and dyeing process, labeling and final packaging have been developed with the aim of obtaining the best possible quality. Particular attention was paid to the choice of our Chenilles and long fibers core, dyeability and the excellent size/strength ratio makes it an ideal complement to our products and particularly for their use in very small pattern. The machines used for packaging guarantee quality and precision in the winding. All packages, therefore, have the same appearance and contain the same quantity of product inside.

All our materials are packed in high-quality 70 microns polypropylene bags , with triangular euro hole to fit on any wall in the shops. the decision to adopt only three bag sizes was intended to facilitate the exposure and the organization of the shops’ walls.

the Cactus Chenille 0.8 mm is the smallest Cactus made in the world, just the opposite of our Jumbo Cactus 30 mm, which is the largest on the market. Obtained with a special process that, despite the small diameter, gives an excellent retention of the effect fibers. It fits all those patterns where an iridescent effect is needed, but with a reduced size. the double version - the 2 mm - can be used where a sharper and clearer effect is needed, while maintaining a very thin core. available in a range of 21 colors.
