GRAND KNIGHTS MESSAGE:
With the Lenten season over we are looking forward to another busy spring. I hope to start it off by seeing many of you at the meeting on the 9th. We have several topics to discuss including the 2015-2016 Council Positions, representation at the State Con-vention and upcoming degree ceremonies. Thanks to everyone who worked so hard to make the Lenten Meal such a success. A huge thanks to Mom’s on Main in Aubrey for generously donating the fish. When you get a chance, how about enjoying a great meal at their place and personally thanking them for their generosity in supporting the Knights. A special shout out to Edgar Evans and Mark Harpool for frying the fish, and we can’t forget Robert Wright for the coleslaw and Anthony for the hushpuppies and fries. Attendance was great as many Parish members took the time to enjoy sharing a meal with friends, old and new. I know Father Kennedy enjoyed seeing so many Parish members coming together during the Lenten Season. Thanks to the generous donations of those in attendance we were able to now fully fund the High School Scholarship for this year. Congratulations to Raymond David who was the winner of the great wine and condiment basket. We are fast approaching election time for the new officers for the 2015-2016 year, which starts July 1. We are looking for volun-teers to serve as Council Officers. If you would like to serve please let Brian Heitzman, Mike Fritcher, Robert Wright or me know. Nominations will be presented at the May meeting. All nominees must be in good standing with the council and be at least 3rd degree. Once again we did not have a winner for the dice roll! The next attendance jackpot will be worth at least eighty dollars. Be there to win, but remember to put your name in the pot! If you want your Knight Life delivered electronically please let me know at [email protected]. We are getting great feedback on the electronic delivery. Members living in the 76258 ZIP code will also receive a printed copy through the mail. Fraternally Yours in Christ Randy Barta Grand Knight

We currently have some friendly competition for the Hike for Life fundraising; a team has been formed by St. Mark’s Council #12553, in Denton.
At present, we've raised the most money of all the teams. Let's stay ahead of the pack!
To sponsor our Council’s team or to join as a hiker, go to this website: http://www.fundeasy.com/m/2158321
Registering for the Hike for Life takes only a few minutes of your time... When you register we are able to
better estimate on how much food to buy, how many t-shirts to get, and in what size. After the Hikes are all
done it allows us the opportunity to send you a note to let you know how well we did and where all of the
money that you brought in is going...
A WORD FROM OUR SEMINARIAN: I am from St. Brendan's Parish in Stephenville and a member of Council 10816. I moved to Stephenville in 2003 with my parents, Don and Mary Hall and younger sister Becca, from St. Louis, Missouri. Directly after high school I went to Tarleton State University for a year and was study-ing Range Ecology and Management. I grew up on a ranch and just en-joy the rural life. I enjoy cooking, manual labor, roller skating, fishing, pub-lic speaking, hunting, but I enjoy most anything as long as it involves be-ing around people. Towards the end of high school I started considering becoming a priest and began a more earnest discernment during my first year of college. After my year at Tarleton State, I left college, moved to Minnesota, and for the next three years, until this past summer, was a Catholic mission-ary with an organization called NET Ministries. I helped conduct retreats for Catholic youth all across the country (I got to travel to 40 states in 18 months!) and share the Gospel message with thousands of youth. In
those three years I got to live a life very much ingrained in the life and work of the Church; prayer, evangelization, pastoral care, discipleship, public speaking, and even the administrative work of it all. I began to realize gradually that the Holy Spirit was leading me, through the work I was already doing, to take the next step into semi-nary. So, this past summer I moved back home to Texas and entered seminary for my home diocese. I am just beginning my second semester of seminary as a sopho-more and, God willing, will be ordained a priest in about 7 years. Thank you in advance for all your support and prayers! Be assured of my ongoing prayers for Council 2045! In Christ, Brandon Hall

A new K of C-produced documentary on St. John
Paul II and his relationship with North and South
America will screen soon on national television net-
works.
John Paul II in America: Uniting a Conti-
nent explores how the papacy of St. John Paul II left
an indelible mark on the American continent. Driven
by his singular conviction of a “United American
Continent” under the patronage of Our Lady of Gua-
dalupe, John Paul II’s papal travels from Argentina
to Alaska generated massive crowds, shaped an
entire generation and ultimately changed the course
of history.
Narrated by actor Andy Garcia, the film features
rare archival footage and insightful analysis from
leading figures, including Cardinal Seán P. O’Malley
of Boston, Supreme Knight Carl A. Anderson, John
Paul II biographer George Weigel and former Vati-
can spokesman Joaquín Navarro-Valls. Viewers will
be both intrigued and moved by the documentary’s
unprecedented framework for understanding one of
the giant figures of our times.
