– Houston Bowl ceases operation

– LSSE encouraged to launch new bowl

June 2006

– New Houston Bowl game licensed under direction of LSSE

July 2006

– Texas Bowl is born (Big 12 v. Conference USA/Big East)

December 2006

– First Texas Bowl is played continuing Houston’s tradition with Bowl games
