Livestock Judging is Underway!

There are a number of Livestock Judging contests coming up, and we will be having practices on February 4, 11, and 25. We will not be practicing on February 18. Practices will begin at

6:00pm and will be held in the Rec Center. Practices are open to all 4-H members who are interested in competing in contests, and are open to both experienced and first time judges. Here are a few upcoming contests:

Feb 27 - East Central

Feb 28 - San Antonio Livestock Expo March 14 - Houston Livestock Expo March 24 - Rodeo Austin Livestock Show *April 23 - District 10 Livestock Judging Contest*

There are contests almost year round, so we will continue judging as long as there are contests available.

Livestock Selection Series

The Selection Series are for Cattle, Lamb, Goat, or Swine exhibitors and will

focus on the basics of Initial Selection, Classification, Feeding, and health for each species. These programs will be offered at the start of the buying season

for these projects. The first program will be March 3, at 6:00pm at the Showbarn Conference Room and will focus on Show Steers and Heifers.

Livestock Projects and Project Visits

As the current livestock show season steps into full swing, it won't be long until we need to start looking for next year's livestock projects. If you would like any help in locating a quality show animal and would like for me to go

with you and assist with selection of a show animal, then send me an email or give me a call and I will be glad to give you a hand. I will also be making project visits throughout the show year for all 4-H Livestock Exhibitors. If

you want to set up a project appointment, give me a call and we can set it up.

80th Annual Bandera County Junior Livestock Show

cess! We would like to thank all of the volunteers for their time and dedication, and in making sure the show runs smoothly. We would also like to thank all of the buyers and donors for your contribution to our 4-H youth, and for

making 2016 a record breaking year!
