    The Cascade Stole combines vine lace, that resembles the tumbling waterfalls, with an

    Pattern:

    Cast-On:

    Cast on 63 stitches in method of your choice. The knitted cast-on works well but any cast-on method that gives a firm edge will work.
Knit two rows.

    Body of Stole:

    At the beginning of each row, slip the first stitch and knit the next stitch. Place stitch marker. Knit one repeat of the Peak Lace Chart, place stitch marker. Knit 5 repeats (or desired number of repeats) of Vine Lace, placing a stitch marker between each repeat if so desires. Place stitch marker, knit a repeat of the Peak Lace Chart. Place stitch marker, knit the last 2 stitches.

    The border stitches will be knitted on every row.

    Note: Charts do not include the 2 border stitches on each side of the stole. All rows of the chart are charted.

    V Slip, slip, knit 2 together

    U knit 2 together

    t slip, knit 2 together, slip slipped stitch over the knit 2 together.

    Finishing:

    Repeat lace charts until stole is desire length or until about 10 yards of yarn is left. Knit last two rows, bind off and weave in ends. Block finished stole by wetting stole and pinning out to suggested finished dimensions.
