WHAT IS TESTOPHOBIA
Testophobia, is a fear of taking tests
The examination phobia is a disorder that occurs especially among college and university students between 18 and 30 years of age. It affects men and women, yet the latter group is the most requested assistance.
Phobia sufferers exams have certain common characteristics: they tend to be perfectionists, obsessive, overachieving, vulnerable to criticism and had low self-esteem who try to hide under this condition.
The origin of examination phobia has been linked to genetics, family heredity and social environmental factors. For example, people have grown up surrounded by overprotective, fearful, timid or highly demanding, having witnessed situations triggers, such as passing the ridicule or rejection or disapproval experienced as traumatic for the student.

Forms
The examination phobia can take several forms: one is trying to escape from the assessments, for example getting sick the day of the test, another is to decide not to study anything, because they do not have any expectations, nor shall there be anxiety. A third way is the inhibition, where the student "knows everything", but when the exam anxiety betrays him, is blocked and can not answer anything, because as you say there is "blank mind" .
Symptoms
The examination phobia is usually higherin the oral tests. The main symptoms are tachycardia and sweating, tremors, insomnia, gastrointestinal problems like nausea, vomiting ordiarrhea, among others.
The phobia can be reversed, treatments may includebreathing and relaxation techniquesand anxiety during the first stage.
There is also a therapy calledcognitive behavioral therapy(CBT), which is working directly onhow the person processesinformation, such as if a personal computer, and maladaptive behavior.
