he Torry Harris test team developed an automated test suite, whereby 200 test

ases were implemented without any manual intervention. For all new additionsnd enhancements, the automated test suite was used to test the updated code.

he time required for testing, after changes were made to the code, was

rastically reduced. The script included testing the product with simulators. Theutomation of test cases helped test engineers to quickly identify problem areasnd report issues to the development team.

    BUSINESS CHALLENG

The client wanted aproduct that enabled

mobile service providerto deploy value-addedservices like call contro

and service control ontheir existing transportlayer. Since the

    application was designe

to be an interfacebetween the existing

transport layer andexternal systems, it had

to be highly configurablto suit different custom

    needs.

    Project testing was a

huge challenge owing tothe highly configurablenature of the

    components. More than

200 test cases had to bcleared, for all possible

    permutations andcombinations of

configurations. All thetest cases had to be

    automated so that any

    newrequirements/additions

could be tested in theshortest possible time.

Before a new release wmade, it was mandatory

    that all the automated

    test cases weresuccessfully executed.
