Panteleimon Papathomas celebrates his visa grantwith (L-R) Margie, Cecilia and his niece Amelia

Shir ley Ann Mendoza, Value Travel

When Shirley and her husband needed timely advice about their visa options, they both sought the expertiseof Margie Dizon and Cecilia dela Vega, Registered Migration Agents. Often times, visa holders initially apply forwhat they think is the best visa, without being aware there are other “more helpful” visa options for them. Freeinformation that is out of date or relying on friends who appear to be experts add a degree of risk when you aredeciding on one of the most important things in your life: your visa. Both husband and wife could have had theirformer visas cancelled or they could have been sent home, had they not received the timely advice that turnedtheir lives around. Shirley’s talent did not go unnoticed. With the expert, professional and efficient assessmentconducted at Migration Corporation, a new visa pathway was examined and

Dear Ms. Margie,

Thank you very much for helping us to stay. My only dream is to work abroad, any country in the world. Untilwe came here in Darwin, as a Student visa. It was a predicament as I call, but I never imagined that miracles dohappen.

Me and my husband have so many worst and not so many good things we had experienced We fought a lot, wecried so much, we’ve had sleepless nights, we sacrificed by being far from our daughter (like many have gonethrough too). We even thought of ending this problem. But we have been tested by faith, God has a purpose forus.

This experience has put us in a great place, despite of being rejected and criticized by so many, and I will trulybe forever grateful. To all of you who have been my so called “Angels in disguise”, I will be forever thankful, andto all the people who have become part of our roller coaster journey, Thank you also. You are all blessing to us, Ihope someday, we will be a blessing to others too.

Like in the bible verse “God does not see what man sees, for man looks at the outward appearance, but theLORD sees the heart.”

Thank you Ms. Margie, Ms. Cecilia and Ms. Kate for helping us and other people to come to Australia and havemuch better life than in our/their own country.

God bless you more.

and after we obtained a visa grant for husband and wife, Helder had this toshare with us:

“Migration Corporation was an angel from heaven because they helpedme [and my wife] to start and finalise all the process [for our visas]. Thewhole process should be easy however it is not. I fell in love with Darwin, Australia – love’s first glance. I fell in love withthe climate and the people. In addition, the Northern Territory offered me a huge opportunity to develop myprofessional skills. Migration Corporation assisted me in using all my qualifications to obtain the right visa.”

Brothers in arms, now in Australia!

Mr. and Mrs. Froilan Cruz areecstatic about their permanent

residency grant

Mastrovasilis family

Michail’s home is well and truly Australia. His sisters were born here andhe, himself studied onshore Australia. His father, however, relocated backto Greece many years ago and did not take up Australian citizenship beforehe left. Due to the many legislative changes, Michail knew it was time toget expert help. He found Migration Corporation duo Margie Dizon andCecilia dela Vega. After obtaining permanent residency for himself and hisfamily last year through an employer-sponsored visa, Michail was ready tohelp his brother experience the beautiful life we have come to know that is

synonmous to Australia. Stavros now works for his older brother Michail at 4Kitchens.

Michail’s son, Ioannis, has now joined his father and uncle in their tradeat 4Kitchens, commencing an apprenticeship in cabinet-making. Michail praises Margie for her tenacity and expertise with their case.“Margie is really professional and became a friend throughout theprocess,” says Michail. “Without the Migration Corporation dueoMargie and Ceiclia, we wouldn’t be here, they helped my family greatly.”

Mr. and Mrs. Froilan Cruz, Permanent residents of Australia

“Maraming maraming maraming salamat po sa inyong magkapatid nang lubos, kulang man ang salitang salamat at malaking malaki po ang mababago sa buhaynamin dahil sa inyo….Your work is not just about papers but about changing lives, thank you for helping us achieve this life-changing goal.

The Cruz family considers it as God’s will that made them call Margie and Cecilia for assistance with theirpermanent residency application. Mr. Cruz had to work frequently away from his family in Darwin. Sometimes, his work as a Carpenter took him to Alice Springs on projects on end. Hence he was not left with much time orenergy to do his own family’s visa pending his temporary visa expiring shortly thereafter. Mr. Cruz then had achoice of appointing someone locally in Alice Springs but somehow, he was referred to Migration Corporation ofAustralia instead. Although most of his communications were done over emails and phone, it has not hinderedhis trust and he has not looked back since.

“Salamat din po sa pagtatiyaga ninyo, Margie and Cecilia took care of everything for our family. They they advised us of the

Edmundo Ponsones, Mechanic with over 30 years’ experience, joins the Australian community with his headheld high. Australia is now his home. He recently obtained permanent residency and his family is about to follow.

“There were many challenges, my case was complex and it wasimportant to find someone you can trust with a very good reputation inthe community. I’m now a permanent resident of Australia because ofMigration Corporation (MCA) duo Margie Dizon and Cecilia dela Vega. They guided me through gaining my first temporary work visa topermanent residency. You have to be strong. I made the right choicesbecause I received very good immigration advice.”

Edmundo shared this dilemma with many temporary workers already in Australia– they want to stay but do notknow how. MCA has assisted thousands of workers, families, couples, working holiday makers, employers andvisa holders alike consider the right type of sponsorship and visa application.

“Some clients choose a do-it-yourself strategy, or they appoint us to represent their applications from start tofinish. Either way, it is important to get advice from someone experienced and registered to ensure you areaware of the different pathways and that you are guided properly in choosing the correct one,”says Margie. “Wealso offer confidential and culturally-sensitive advice.”

Edgar Mira celebrates his permanent residency grantwith Cecilia dela Vega at Migration Corporation of

Australia

Edgar Mira and Orlando Itoralde enjoy permanentresidency grants with Margie Dizon at Migration

Corporation of Australia

Edgar Mira and Orlando Itoralde, Welders at Tristar Industries and proud permanent residents of Darwin,Australia

Theirs is one tough story to tell and share. Both Edgar and Orlandostarted at the same company in the previous decade. However, manyyears later and many challenges later, the unfortunate downsizing orclosure of their employers’ businesses kept forcing them to look forgreener pastures.

They could have easily given up and gone home but they werecommitted to a life they have known for at least six years, in Darwin,Australia. Now, they not only share a house together as best of friendsbut have found their permanent residency with the solid support of theirRSMS employer Tristar Industries.

Mr. Mira jokes he must be the longest 457 visa holder prior to obtaininghis PR grant and it was only through finding Margie and Cecilia that this has transpired. He was, however, neverdetermined to give up hope. Mr. Mira transferred successfully to Tristar who supported him for his permanentresidency application. His application was not straightforward so he engaged the assistance of MigrationCorporation duo Margie and Cecilia.

Mr. Mira is now one of Migration Corporation’s best pro-bono marketing agents. He is very proud of his journeyand we are very proud of his determination and commitment.

“From our experience, it is mainly the client’s commitment to devising a plan with us and sticking to a plan thatworks. There are many challenges that emerge without warning or notice but it seems that if our clients areequipped with the most up to date information, then they easily make choices for themselves. Being able tomake well-informed decisions is important; clients feel confident that they are on the right track. We have sucha blessed role, that our clients make their journey by choosing us to assist them make the right move, ” Margieand Cecilia confide.

Orlando Itoralde, on the other hand, jokes that he must be the longest Bridging

Visa E holder he has ever known prior to obtaining permanent residency. He laughs

as he reminisced going home after a hard day’s work and thinking how starving he

has been all day without realising it!

Orlando had to suffer hard when his previous employer represented him for a visa

application without seeking appropriate help hence having to appeal a visa refusal

with the MRT and being left having no right to work. It was only a coincidental

referral to “go and see Margie and Cecilia” that changed his life. He not only fought

his MRT appeal well but was also equipped with the knowledge that a back up plan

was available to secure him permanent residency for good. He was also able to work

full time with the assistance of Migration Corporation duo Margie and Cecilia.

With the support of his then casual employer Tristar Industries, he was able to fly back to the Philippines to visithis family and stay confident that he would return to Australia. Within less than a month, his permanentresidency visa was granted. Orlando now enjoys permanent employment with Tristar Industries, the same

company who initially gave him a chance when he did not think anything could go right.

Orlando knew that if he made well-informed decisions, he could always make the right choice. This theory wascontinuously tested and he won every fight with the help of Migration Corporation duo Margie Dizon and Ceciliadela Vega.

“Orlando was as committed as we were in fighting his MRT appeal, getting work rights, finding a new sponsorand obtaining his permanent residency. We advised that we would not give up so long as he continued trustingus. We all won his fights in the end and he must be one of our shining trophies,” Margie shares.

opportunity to work for Jimmy Shu who dined there one evening. Jimmy was soimpressed with the Chinese dish and the service that he left his details with the skilledkitchen team. Rey braved the opportunity to write to Jimmy Shu and applied for a jobdirectly.

That was years ago in 2006. A few months after that, Rey arrived in Australia under asubclass 457 visa. He didn’t know what was in store for him then. He battledhomesickness and the compulsion to give up. With determination and motivation, heis now amongst one of the leaders of a popular kitchen in the Northern Territory – themost celebrated Hanuman Restaurant.

Rey is Chef de Cuisine for the Indian and Thai sections. He didn’t realize that hisexpertise in Chinese cooking would bring him to work for The Hanuman Restaurant. Wang Qing (Jack), owner of Regent Court Chinese Restaurant, Katherine, NT

Jack’s journey from Shenzen, China to Northern Territory, Australia is a great one toshare. Guests who were impressed with the food and service at Shangri-La left theircontact details with the restaurant staff. Fortunately for Jack, the Chef that the callingcard was left with did not have dreams outside China. Jack, on the hand, grabbed theopportunity to contact the employer directly. Four years later and with the help ofMargie Dizon, Registered Migration Agent and Psychologist at Migration Corporationof Australia (MCA), Jack enjoys the ultimate prize, his Australian citizenship.

“At the start, Jack could not even call me. We couldn’t even talk to each other as hespoke minimal English, ” remembers Margie. Jack initially came on his own on asubclass 457 visa. He battled homesickness and the compulsion to give it all up at the time. It was not until 6months after and many repeated phone calls that we got together for dinner and his English improvement wasphenomenal then. Eventually, his family decided to join him. Now, all three family members speak very goodEnglish and Jerry, their only son, speaks English like a local. They obtained their permanent residency in 2009and Jack qualified for Australian citizenship in 2010.

He has also embraced the Australian life with the purchase of his home and taking up fishing as a hobby. Fluellen Andan’s story is a beautiful one to tell. He wrote us the following testimonial:

“I can still remember, three years ago, I set foot on Australian soil. Excited, a little scared, lonely & full ofanxiety were the mixed feelings I had. Armed with high hopes of providing a better & brighter future for myfamily, battling loneliness & homesickness, made me more determined to work harder just like the rest of the457 working class. I learnt the hard way that living in a foreign land is heaps different than the soft life backhome. It is not a bed of roses, daily living is a constant challenge & trial. Many a time, I wanted to pack my bag& go home. I stopped, looked back & reflected on the poverty situation almost everyone wants to escape from.Financial security prevailed. I took this gamble, might as well get on with it.

Fortunately a year after, my employer deemed it fit to sponsor my family to follow me here in Darwin. My joyknew no bounds. I was ecstatic. At last, I would be reunited with my loved ones. But that happiness was short-lived for we had problems & some complications with our documents. I honestly thought that our being togetherwas not meant to be. I was distressed & was at the lowest ebb of my life. But then, a spark of hope hit me. Iturned to Margie Dizon of MCA, hoping… really, hoping against hope if she could pull off this insurmountableodd. I trusted & believed in her & the MCA team. There’s still hope yet, she assured me. True enough, I didn’thave wait long…a big thorn had been plucked from within me. Needless to say, I am now with my belovedfamily.

My trust for Margie’s agency deepened. I deduced, if she could pull me out from that very tight spot, why not myPermanent Residency? Always , I seem to have a knack for complications. My visa was about to expire, I wasbeginning to panic, I don’t have much time to file it myself due to work constraints. In short, I got scared since Ifelt like applying for PR is one-time shot. Whew! She made it just in time with Divine Intervention & humaneffort. It took a little while to get approved which was another trial, with God’s help & of course with MCA’sunwavering support, the wait is finally over. But that’s all behind us now, we are now looking at the future.Someday…one day…we will be taking our oaths & pledge allegiance to this God-blessed country who gave usanother chance at life. If I may say, so…There is much hope when you trust in the Lord, yourself & a Friend.”

in store for him. As a Boilermaker for over 25 years, it was not until he sought the advice from Margie Dizon ofMigration Corporation of Australia that an employment offer from Tristar Industries would make his dreams ofobtaining permanent residency become a reality.

Domingo, 52 years old, was unsure of his choices having received conflicting advice from acquaintances who knewlittle of migration law. He made a good decision by appointing Margie Dizon, Registered Migration Agent andPsychologist to look after his visa application.

Domingo soon learnt that seeking advice from an experienced Registered Migration Agent was the key to his visaapplication success. Coupled with unwavering support from his work sponsor, they both emerged as the winners.Domingo is now a permanent resident of Australia and Tristar Industries has gained the permanent employmentof a very skilled worker.

“I do not know what I would have done without Margie’s help, I gave all my trust in her and she successfullyobtained my permanent residency for me, despite my age and the complexity of my case,” he said.

Domingo shared this dilemma with many other temporary workers already inAustralia– they want to stayinAustraliabut do not know how. Migration Corporation of Australia has assisted hundreds of workers, families, couples, working holiday makers, employers and visa holders alike consider the appropriate type of sponsorshipand visa application.

“Some clients choose a DIY strategy, or they appoint us to represent the submissions from beginning to end,”says Margie. “Either way, it is important to get advice from an experienced Registered Migration Agent toensure you are aware of the pathways and that you are guided properly in choosing the correct one.”
