Termal Seramik2. fabrikas›n› açt›

Termal Seramik’in, II. seramikfabrikas›, Baflbakan Recep TayyipErdo¤an, bakanlar, milletvekilleri iledevletin di¤er ileri gelenlerininkat›l›m›yla 11 Eylül’de Bilecik’te yap›lanaç›l›fl töreniyle hizmete girdi. Temeli2003 y›l›nda Baflbakan Recep TayyipErdo¤an taraf›ndan at›lan fabrikan›naç›l›fl kurdelesi yine BaflbakanErdo¤an taraf›ndan kesildi.

Böylece Termal Seramik, artan ihracatve iç piyasa talebine cevap verebilmekve ürün gam›n› gelifltirmek amaçl›gerçeklefltirmeyi planlad›¤› üç aflamal› yat›r›m projesinin ilkinigerçeklefltirmifl oldu. 20x20 cm’den,60x60 cm’ye kadar de¤iflik ebatlarda

yer karosu ve granit, 25x33, 33x45,25x40,30x60 cm ebatlar›nda tekpiflirim duvar karosu ve 10x10 cm yerve duvar karosu yan›nda her türlüaksesuar üretimi yap›lacak olan tesisdört ayr› üniteden olufluyor. 6 milyonm2/y›l s›rl› porselen üretilecek tesisteayr›ca 750 bin m2/y›l kapasiteli 10x10ve trim üretimi de devreye girecek.Fabrikan›n ilk iki ünitesinin toplamkapal› alan› 28.500m2, kapasitesi 6Milyon m2/y›l. 2006 y›l›n›n Ocak ve Eylülaylar›nda devreye girecek olan di¤eriki ünite ile birlikte II. fabrikan›n toplamkapasitesinin 16 milyon m2’ye veTermal Seramik toplam kapasitesinin25 Milyon m2/y›l’a ulaflmas› bekleniyor.

Termal Seramik’s second ceramicfactory was launched by the openingceremony held in Bilecik onSeptember 11 with Prime MinisterRecep Tayyip Erdo¤an, ministers,members of parliament and otherleading officials of the state attending.The opening ribbon of the factory,whose foundation was laid in 2003 byPrime Minister Recep TayyipErdo¤an, was cut again by PrimeMinister Erdo¤an.

Thus, Termal Seramik realized thefirst phase of the three-phaseinvestment project planned to achievefor satisfying the increasing exportand domestic market demand anddeveloping its product range. Thefacility, where floor tiles and granitein sizes ranging from 20x20 cm to60x60 cm, single fired wall tiles of25x33, 33x45, 25x40 and 30x60 cm,floor and wall tiles of 10x10 cm andall types of accessories will beproduced, comprises four separateunits. Also, 750 thousand m2/yearcapacity 10x10 and trim tile productionwill start at the facility where 6 millionm2/ year glazed porcelain will beproduced. The total indoor area ofthe first two units of the factory is28,500 m2 with a capacity of 6 millionm2/year. It is expected that, togetherwith the two other units to becomeoperational in January andSeptember of 2006, the total capacityof factory 2 will reach 16 million m2

and the overall capacity of TermalSeramik will go up to 25 millionm2/year.

Termal Group of Companies Chairman of the Board MehmetO¤uzman, in his opening speech on the general structure andexport potential of Turkish ceramic industry, said; “This industryis an important sector of ours with maximum 7 % importsubstitution, with high employment, with raw material resourcesand a high chance for exports. I submit the evaluation of thispotential to the attention of our Honorable Prime Minister. Ihope that the facility will be beneficial to our employees, to theregion and our country and I salute you with my deepestrespects”.

Termal Seramik General Manager Köksal Ç›nar, in his speechhe offered technical details on the facility, said they wouldcontinue with their investments.

Exporting 70 % of its production, Termal Seramik targets totake its place as a global player in the world platform, with aninvestment of USD 50 million, a capacity of 25 million m2/year,1,000 employees and USD 70 million export income when thefinal two units are launched.

Termal Seramik Genel Müdürü Köksal Ç›nar ise tesis hakk›ndateknik bilgi verdi¤i konuflmas›nda yat›r›mlara devam edeceklerinisöyledi.

Üretiminin %70’ini ihraç eden Termal Seramik, son iki üniteninde devreye girmesi ile 50 Milyon USD’lik bir yat›r›m, 25 Milyonm2/y›l kapasite, 1000 çal›flan personel, 70 Milyon USD ihracatgeliri ile dünya platformunda global bir oyuncu olarak yerinialmay› hedefliyor.

The new collectionbearing the signature ofdesign genius RossLovegrove wasintroduced in London.

The world launching of the newcollection born out of the merger ofVitrA’s skill in the field of offeringcomplete bathroom solutions withthe ability to use sophisticatedtechnology and materials of RossLovegrove who is cited among thedesign geniuses of 21st century washeld in London. Over 100 productswere developed for the collectiondesigned by Ross Lovegrove andgiven the name “Istanbul”.

The meeting was attended byexecutives and important customersof Eczac›bafl› and VitrA alongside ofarchitects, interior decorators anddesigners engaged in the field ofdesign from Turkey and all over theworld.

Ceramic sets, ceramic floor and walltiles, tubs, bathroom furniture, tapsand accessories are among theproducts in the collection designedso as to create interior spaces offeringmaximum flexibility for the consumerin total harmony. Geometrical designsare used on the tub panels andbathroom furniture covers in additionto ceramic tiles and the statuesqueappearance of the basin – pedestalcombination is shown as proof of thecreativity of the designer and themastery of VitrA of the productiontechnology. In the new collection; anuninterrupted wet space concept,where everything is white, fluid andintegrated to each other, drawsattention.

‹stanbul’u ziyaret etti¤inde Türk seramik ve banyo kültürüyleyak›ndan ilgilenen Ross Lovegrove, Türkler’in etnik yap›s›ndan,mimarisinden ve adetlerinden ilham alarak yeni bir perspektifgelifltirdi. Osmanl› geometrisini ve hat sanat›n› inceleyerekbunlar› hem grafiksel hem ak›flkan olabilen, organik ve yüksekduyarl›l›¤a sahip sanatlar olarak de¤erlendirdi. Lovegrove’un,‹stanbul’dan çok etkilenmesi ve farkl› kültürlerin birleflti¤i biraç›k müze olarak nitelendirmesi, yeni koleksiyonun da isimkayna¤› oldu.

Kale Sinterflex Ceramic Factory, onethe new investment projects by KaleGroup, was installed for the first timein the world by Kaleseramik. The1mx3mx3mm size and technicalfeatures of Kale Sinterflex Ceramicmakes it a product to create arevolution. These flexible and lightceramic plates may be used inconstructions of complete buildingsin various areas of buildings and inmanufacturing of furniture used inpanels which allow sound and heatinsulation. The factory will achieve1.5 million m2 production per year.

The kiln designed by improving existing kilns with a productioncapacity of 18 tons/day frits brings significant energy andmaintenance cost savings and productivity increase.

These factories, which ran under classic stock system, weretransformed into the continuous system under the project. Asa result, increases in quality, energy savings and productivitywill be achieved alongside of approximately 20 % increase inproduction per person.

Wall Tile Factory 7 and Granite FactoryPress Projects

In this project, 4 new presses and 3 vertical driers will be builtresulting in productivity increase, capability to produce tiles inlarger sizes and increase in productivity.

Zeynep Bodur Okyay Mentally Retarded Children RehabilitationCenter, which was launched the same day, started to offerservices with 6,000 m2 outdoor and 3,600 m2 indoor space.Bodur stated that the center was highly important for the careand education of retarded children. The opening ribbon of thecenter was cut by 9th President Süleyman Demirel, Ministerof State Nimet Çubukçu, Minister of Internal Affairs AbdülkadirAksu, Ibrahim Bodur, Süleyman Bodur and Zeynep BodurOkyay.

Sektörel bilgibirikiminin, tecrübelerin paylafl›lmas›ve iflbirli¤i olanaklar›n›n belirlenmesikonusunda önemli bir etkinlik olanseminerin ana sponsorlar›ndan biriise Seramik Federasyonu’ydu.

Seminer’in aç›l›fl konuflmas›n› SerkapYönetim Kurulu Baflkan› ve SeramikFederasyonu Yönetim Kurulu BaflkanYard›mc›s› Ahmet Yamaner yapt›.Yamaner, sektörün son 20-25 y›liçinde önemli bir aflama kaydetti¤ini,

bugün dünyan›n önemli aktörlerindenbiri oldu¤unu ancak seramik yansanayiinin ayn› geliflimigösteremedi¤ini belirtti. Ancakbaflar›l› giriflimlerin seramik yansanayiinde bafllad›¤›n›, bu gayretlerinen iyi flekilde sonuçlanaca¤›n› ifadeetti.

AT the III Internationally ParticipatedCeramic, Glass, Enamel, Glaze andDye Seminar, (Seres 2005),academicians, artists, designersworking in the fields of ceramic, glass,enamel, glaze and dye and thoseemployed in the relevant industriescame together. One of the mainsponsors of the seminar, a significantevent allowing the sharing of theknowledge accumulation and theexpereince in the industry andidentification of collaborationopportunities was the CeramicFederation.

Serkap Chairman of the Board andVice Chairman of the Board ofCeramic Federation Ahmet Yamanergave opening speech of the seminar.Yamaner noted that the industrymadea major leap in the last 20-25 yearsbecoming one of the leading playersin the world currently, yet that theceramic auxiliary industry failed toachieve the same thing. He statedthat succesful endeavors were underway in the ceramic auxiliary industry,which he believed would lead to bestresults.

The jug, which is one of the bestknown traditional forms of pottery, isalmost one of the symbols of Izmir’sMenemen district. Starting from thispoint, international contests startedto be held since last year to promotethe traditional pottery production ofthe region both in the world and alsoin Turkey as part of “The Culture, Artand Liberation Festivities”, nineteenthof which was celebrated due to the83rd Anniversary of Menemen’sliberation.

The contestants participating in theinternational Craftsmen Contest inthe aesthetics discipline created theirfree size, lathe turned form designsin one day, displaying all their skills.As a result of evaluation ofapproximately 70 works, Bilal Denizwas awarded the first prize, VedatDura the second prize, YorgosAkamatou the third prize and in order,the works of Tansu Çetiner, AliHikmet Koç and Ibrahim Gönen weredeemed worthy of receivinghonorable mention awards.

Zehra Çobanl›’n›nmavi seramikleri

Termal Seramik, a second generationfine artist of modern ceramics,continues to advance masterfully inthe original ceramic style she created.The “blue ceramics” of the artist,which are the indicators of herexperience and work, are a result ofher moving towards the plain, theunicolor as time progresses. Whenadvancing on a path going from thefully local to the universal, Çobanl›makes references to our traditionalceramics by modern interpretations,starting from the widely knowntraditional bowl culture. She attemptsto render her ceramics meaningfulwith a high fired glazing techniqueand a picturesque decorative style onthe ceramic surface, with a plain styleof expression. The artist, who foundthe opportunity to work withundercoats in various temperaturesin Australia where the eastern andwestern synthesis is kneaded, reflectsthis to her works with original,technical and aesthetic searches.

In her book titled “The Blue Art ZehraÇobanl› Ceramics” in which shecompiled her works in the latestperiod, she shows that she carriedthe powerful expression of theseworks to a top level in terms oftechnique and aesthetics. As theindispensable color of Ottoman tiles,blue becomes the striking color ofher works; she uses first of all thetugras of sultans as design, as a toolof expression, as a starting point, intime to be replaced by calligraphicinterpretations and arrangements onsurfaces. In her other designs, againthe Ottoman tulip, the indispensable“haliç design” of ‹znik tiles and“chintemani” are found in Çobanl›’sworks with aesthetic interpretationsall on their own. Among these worksare plates, jars, boxes, bowls, boxeswith lids, teapots, vases, glasses, birdfigures and installation worksincluding forty-arrangements attimes.

Modern serami¤in ikinci kuflaksanatç›lar›ndan Zehra Çobanl›,kendine özgü yaratt›¤› seramikstilinde ustaca ilerlemeye devamediyor. Sanatç›n›n, deneyim veçal›flmalar›n›n göstergesi olan “maviseramikleri” gittikçe yal›na, tek rengeyönelmesinin bir sonucudur. Çobanl›tamamen yerelden, evrensele gidenbir yolda ilerlerken gelenekselserami¤imize modern yorumlarlagönderme yap›yor ve çok bilinengeleneksel kap kültüründen yolaç›k›yor. Serami¤ini kendine özgü,yüksek piflirim astar tekni¤iniyle veseramik yüzeyde resimsel birdekorlama tarz›yla, yal›n bir anlat›miçinde anlaml› k›lmaya çal›fl›yor. Do¤uve Bat› sentezinin yo¤ruldu¤uAvustralya’da, farkl› ›s›lardakiastarlarla çal›flma olana¤› bulansanatç› bunu kendine özgü, teknik veestetik aray›fllarla eserlerineyans›tm›flt›r.

Zehra Çobanl›, son dönem eserlerinitoplad›¤› “The Blue Art Zehra Çobanl›Ceramics” adl› kitab›nda bueserlerinin güçlü ifadesini, teknik veestetik aç›dan üst düzeye tafl›d›¤›n›gösteriyor. Sektörde 6 y›ll›k k›sa süreli geçmifline ra¤men ürün ve hizmetkalitesiyle iç ve d›fl piyasada sayg›n bir konum edinen UmpaflSeramik artan piyasa taleplerine cevap verebilmek amac›yla mevcut kapasitesini % 25 oran›nda art›rarak 10.5 milyon m2

/ y›l üretim kapasitesine ulaflt›.

Eylül ay› içersinde devreye al›nan 2.5 milyon m2/y›l kapasiteliduvar tesisinde 25x33,25x40 ,33x45 ve daha farkl› ebatlardaçift piflirim duvar karosu üretimi gerçeklefltirilecek. Devreyegiren yeni tesis ile 70 kiflilik ek istihdam ve sektöre yaklafl›k5 milyon dolarl›k ek ihracat katk›s› sa¤lanacak.

Devam›nda yeni yat›r›mlar›n da planlamas› içerisinde olanUmpafl Seramik, kapasite artt›rmaya yönelik yeni ek üretimtesisleri yat›r›mlar›n› en k›sa zamanda gerçeklefltirmek amac›ile fizibilite çal›flmalar›n› sürdürüyor.

Umpafl Seramik, gaining a reputable position in local andinternational markets by its product and service quality despiteits not so long past of 6 years in the industry, reached a productioncapacity of 10.5 million m2/year by increasing its present capacityby 25 % to meet the increasing market demand.

At the wall facility with 2.5 million m2/year capacity commissionedin September, double fired wall tiles in sizes 25x33, 25x40, 33x45and others will be carried out. An additional export volume ofapproximately 5 million Dollars and jobs for 70 persons will beachieved by way of the launched new facility.

Umpafl Seramik, planning new further investments, is pursuingfeasibility studies to realize new additional production facilityinvestments for increasing capacity as soon as possible.

kat›ld›. Oluflturulan çal›flmagruplar›n›n on ikisinin bugüne kadarkonular›yla ilgili olarak yap›lançal›flmalar›n›n genel birde¤erlendirmesini yapt›klar›toplant›da TCDD temsilcileri limanve demiryollar› ile Euro Paletkonusunda da aç›klamalardabulundular.

A large number of representativesfrom public agencies, the privatesector and universities attended themeeting chaired by Süleyman Caner,Union of Chambers and Exchangesof Turkey/Ceramic and Refractory

Industry Board Chairman.

At the meeting where twelve of thecreated work groups did an overallevaluation of the work performed sofar in their fields, Turkish Railwaysrepresentatives commented on portsand railways and Euro Palet.

Turgut Gür, Turkish-RussianBusinessmen Council Chairmanattended the meeting with acomprehensive presentation on theRussian market.

On October 4, a meeting was held fordetermining the machine demand inthe ceramic industry for producingthe high technology employed in theceramic industry in our country,keeping the foreign currency to leavethe country within the country bybringing together the purchasers ofmachinery used in the ceramicindustry and the local machinemanufacturers as part of “CeramicMachinery and Side IndustryDevelopment Project”.

“Akdeniz Ceramics-Bathroom-Ancastre Equipments and KitchenExhibition”, organized by Timder andAntimder, is held in Antalya ExpoCenter between 29 September and2 October 2005. Building materialsespecially for the hotel market areintroduced at the fair, which is heldfor the first time in Antalya, one of themost significant tourism destinationsnot only for Turkey but also for theworld. Toprak Seramik presented itsbrand-new bathroom, acrylic,ceramics and porcelain tile lines.

After the panel discussion held by theAntalya Chamber of Architects,Toprak Seramik, being the activitysponsor of the Exhibition, hosted acoctail party at its stand, where thepanel speakers Arcitect CengizBektafl and Ayd›n Boysan made thevisitors have a pleasurable time.

Sacmi’denyenilikçi sistemler

Sacmi Forni, a Group company that specialises in firing,has perfected innovative new systems the control oftemperature and in-kiln roller damage.

Destined to play an important part in the future of ceramicindustry and improve the efficiency of roller kilns: theselatest hyper-technological devices to be developed by theSacmi Forni R&D department-which go bye the namesof IRIDE (Infrared Intelligent Device) and SPINMARK –have been designed to ensure that critical firing zones arecontrolled with absolute precision and to provide real-time roller damage warnings.

With IRIDE, Sacmi technical people have perfected aninfrared pyrometric system that consists of an opticalpyrometric scanner, which acquires the surfacetemperature of the transiting pieces and dedicated software(on the kiln computer) to process the thus-gathered data.The acquired information is used to obtain a referencetemperature for zone-relevant control and adjustmentdevices.

The patented Spinmark roller monitoring system isactivated immediately when breakage of one or morerollers is likely to cause serious problems on the kiln tointerrupt production. The device immediately informspersonnel of any roller breakages by special componentsinstalled inside a non-magnetic metal tube located underthe free-spinning ends of the rollers. Spinmark can beapplied along the full length of the kiln or in critical zonesonly, providing an overview of the situation that can beviewed from both the main control panel and smallerpanels located along the kiln.
