Discussion/ Explanation: (15 minutes) Inform students about the things from our surroundings. Explain them that we see a lot of things around us. Describe them that some things are living while some are non-living things. Ask students to identify some of the living and non-living things from their surroundings. Recall the concept of living and non-living things. Developmental activity: (05 minutes)

Greet students, tell them that we are going to start a very interesting chapter about materials around us and

will explore different things from our surroundings. Write the word “materials things” on writing board

and ask students to recall their memory and tell what they know about “materials things”?

Discussion/ Explanation: (15 minutes)

Inform students about the things from our surroundings.

Explain them that we see a lot of things around us.

Describe them that some things are living while some are non-living things.

Ask students to identify some of the living and non-living things from their surroundings.

Recall the concept of living and non-living things.

Inform students that things that can breath, move, eat, grow, feel reproduce are living things while

things which do not move, breathe, grow, eat, feel and reproduce are non-living things.

Give 5 minutes to students and ask them to look around them and identify living and non-living

things and write their names or draw a sketch on the sticky notes.

Once them one by one ask students about what they wrote on their sticky notes.

Class work: (15 minutes)

While sitting in pairs, students will discuss the activity time on page no. 68 and will solve it.

Allah and man cannot create them so these things are natural things.

Explain students that natural things may be living or non-living things

Inform students that things like birds, trees, man, animals are living things and natural things as

Allah created them

Also inform students that living things are natural things.

is about rocks and minerals. Ask them if they know about rocks.

Inform students about rocks.

Inform them that earth is made from hard materials which are called rocks.

Explain them that rocks are found in mountains, hills under river and at the bottom of the sea.

Explain them that rocks are of many kinds, some are small while some are big. Explain them that

rocks can be of different colors.

Describe students the texture of rocks, and inform them that rocks can be soft or hard.

Inform students that the study of rocks is called geology and the person who read it is called

geologist.

Refer to page no. 74 of students book and ask them to read.

Provide students with small stones, cotton, paint brush and paint and ask them to do activity time on page

no. 74.
