Term 3 Week 6
Dear parents & caregivers
Thank you to the many understanding parents about our
need to close our gates. Some parents have been
frustrated by this but unfortunately this is how life will be
for some time at school – we need to protect the safety
of our staff and students.
To clear up some school chatter – we will send children
home who exhibit flu like symptoms. These are coughing,
sneezing, runny nose, sore throat and generally feeling
very unwell – mostly a combination of these symptoms.
Kindergarten Orientation 2021
We are working on ways we can provide a positive
orientation experience for our new students for 2021.
We will certainly contact all children who are enrolled
with all the details of our plans. I am waiting until the end
of this term until the Department of Education outlines
Term 4 Restrictions.
If you have not enrolled your child please contact the
school office staff for advice – Phone 9824 7111.
Year 5 Check – In Assessment
This occurred Monday and Tuesday this week and by all
accounts, the technology worked well and all children
completed the assessment to the best of their ability.
Father’s Day Stall – 3 September
The Student leaders will be running the Father’s Day Stall
next week. All gifts are $5 and teachers will collect this
money and ensure your child chooses their gifts.
Please send in the money in a sealed envelope with your
child’s name and class written on the front.
Thank you to Mrs Hodges, our P&C President, for
organizing this in her own time, out of school hours.
Physical distancing Physical distancing of children in schools is not required under the AHPPC guidelines.
All adults must maintain physical distance from each other (1.5m) including teachers and support staff, and parents.
Parents should ensure school pick up and drop off arrangements enable them to physically distance from one another and from staff. Non-essential adults are still not permitted on school grounds or at school events – this includes parents and carers unless specifically approved by the principal.
Activities still under consideration from Term 3 The following events will be reconsidered in Term 3. For now, these events must remain on hold.
Kindergarten orientation School camps Excursions Parent attendance at assemblies and other school
events (e.g. graduation ceremonies or student speech events)
Parent volunteers – e.g. parent reading helpers (note: canteen and uniform shop volunteers are permitted)
Interstate excursions School-based activities that involve large gathering
of adults are not permitted at this time. These include parent/community gatherings such as parent functions, working bees, fundraisers, school BBQs, large parent information evenings, and large on-site cultural events. These large gatherings and the above activities will continue to be reviewed and assessed based on AHPPC and NSW Health advice and may be permitted at a later date.

MOVIE, PJs, Beanies & Popcorn Day
Report by Nikita and Mathew
On Friday the 14th of August, Eschol Park students
celebrated Beanie, Pyjama and Movie Day. There
were many colourful beanies and very stylish
pyjamas.
We raised $2,084 dollars to go towards the Year 6
Farewell - what an amazing effort! During the
movie, students were able to eat their popcorn and
drink their poppers. We were allowed to swap our
beanies, poppers and popcorn with other students
so we could have our favourite colours and flavours.
The funniest part of the day was watching everyone
play sport in their pyjamas!
We would like to thank Mrs Hodges for making the
beanies for us all to enjoy. We would also like to
thank all of the students who participated and
made the day a success.
Please get your children to school on time.
Latecomers We have far too many children coming to school late each day. The Home School Liaison Officer (HSLO) has analyzed our records and the huge number of later comers is a concern and was discussed. These children are being monitored by the HSLO as are non-attenders. Just missing ten minutes each morning adds up to nearly an hour of lost learning time each week. It is also embarrassing for the children to walk in late to class and then have to be individually informed about what is happening in the lesson in progress.
Please get your children to school on time.
Dear parents/carers of students attending Eagle Vale High School in 2021
Due to our contract expiring with Lowes at the end of 2020, our uniform is being reviewed.
If your child is commencing Year 7 in 2021 at Eagle Vale High School and you are considering purchasing uniforms we request that you hold off in doing this. We will have further information in relation to this in the coming weeks.
