NAIDOC Celebrations
this week
NAIDOC This week we will be having our NAIDOC celebrations based on the theme Always was, Always will be. Students will be involved in an opening ceremony on Monday morning and then be involved in classroom lessons throughout the week. We will then have a day where students will be involved in activities such as making Johnny cakes, music, sand art and many more.
Social Media There has been an increase in issues coming to school that have started on social media. This is just a reminder that children are not legally allowed to have accounts until they are 13 years of age. Please monitor your child’s use of social media and remind students about safe and responsible use when using these platforms. If there are issues with your child and another student through social media, please contact their parents directly to rectify this issue.
Take Away Food Some students have been purchasing take away food and drinks and bringing it to the school in the mornings. Parents have also been dropping food to the school from take away outlets. We ask that this does not happen as we encourage students to make healthy choices and support our canteen to be able to operate 5 days per week. We also run Breakfast Club every morning where students can get toast and cereal.
Facebook Page Please like our Facebook page for regular updates, photos and virtual assemblies. Please return the publishing permission note if you have not already. More notes are available from the office.
Cross Country The Cross Country has been postponed until Friday 28th August. More information will be released closer to the date.

NAIDOC Week
Flag Raising Ceremony A Flag Raising Ceremony was held this morning to commence NAIDOC week celebrations. Michael opened the ceremony with Welcome to Country. Special guest Corey Paulson talked to staff and students about the meaning of this year’s NAIDOC theme ‘Always was, Always will be’ before playing the didgeridoo as the flags were raised by the prefects. Celebrations will conclude on Friday with a day full of activities, music and art.
VOLUNTEERS NEEDED! Canteen and Breakfast Club
Volunteers to assist with the Canteen and Breakfast Club are needed.
Canteen: The canteen is open every day however, support is needed to be able to continue to operate this way. 9.00am - 11.30am is the busiest time so if you are able to assist during this time, please contact the school on 8088 2181.
Breakfast Club: Breakfast Club operates every morning and as with the canteen it relies on volunteers to be able to run. Help is desperately needed between 8.30am - 9.10am on Mondays and Thursdays. Duties will include setting up, making and serving students with toast, cereal, drinks etc. Even if you could drop in and spare a small amount of time before going home. Please contact the school on 8088 2181 if you are able to assist.
