Assessments due Week 10 (23 - 20 September)

Years 9 & 10: English

We have had a very rewarding end of term. We celebrated Health and Physical Education day with an afternoon of sports, culminating in an epic ‘Staff versus Students’ league tag match. Lots of fun and laughs occurred during the match, with sport being the winner. Thumbs up to Miss Hernando and the PE staff for organising the day.

The Batyr crew from Sydney delivered positive mental health programs to all Stage 5 and Stage 6 students, providing tips and strategies they can use to help themselves and their friends. It is great they come out and support our isolated students. Thanks to Mrs Carswell and the Batyr group for organizing the days.

Our Police Liaison Officer, Ebony, also visited talking to students about Cyber Safety and Security whilst outlining the dangers and pitfalls of online life.

The inaugural Splendor in the Class was held over 2 lunchtimes. The fantastic musical talents of our students were showcased with two highly entertaining performances. It was fantastic to see so many students attending to support their peers, both performances being standing room only. Thanks to Miss Andrew and Mrs Best for organizing the event and encouraging the performers.

Term 3 PBL Acknowledgement day was celebrated on Tuesday. Year 12 had a special lunch at the Great Western Hotel (so they didn’t miss out on class time), whilst the rest of the students enjoyed a movie / chill out time with toasties for lunch. Mr Finn and Mr Short did grouse jobs organising the day. Finally we celebrated the end of 13 years schooling at the Year 12 Presentation Day. They are a great bunch of young adults that the school and their parents are proud of. Thanks to all the staff who have supported them throughout the years. I wish them all the best for the future and encourage them to always strive for excellence.
