Please place the date in your calendar. With each of our events it is wonderful to see our parents and community supporng the students. We do work hard to ensure we celebrate all of the good things that we create in our school. We usually do this through our Facebook page. Our Facebook page enables us to connect and communicate with the members of our school community. It is a place where we build our community, by building school spirit. Research tells us that when parents speak about or interact with their school in a posive way, it enhances student connectedness, wellbeing and ulmately learning outcomes. In joining our community on Facebook, Eglinton Public School follows the Department of Educaon Code of Conduct and Facebook’s Community Standards. Equee Our Facebook page is to be a celebraon of our community and we are happy to see people support various posts via a Facebook comment or a ‘like’. However, Eglinton Public School reminds all families that our Facebook page is not the appropriate forum to be raising personal issues or complaints. Maers involving any of our children, parents or staff must not be raised on our Facebook page. On Monday these twelve fantastic year 6 Eglinton Public students attended the Orange regional round of the world renowned Kids' Lit Quiz - The Sport of Reading. Our students and their parents represented our school superbly and we are extremely proud of them.

Wayne Mills (The Quiz Master), a former senior lecturer at the University of Auckland in the Faculty of Education, asks the teams 100 questions from ten literary categories. Then asks bonus questions for individuals and audience members with book and cash prizes between categories.

With schools from as far away as the Blue Mountains and scores ranging from 20 to 87.5 our teams all did really well, scoring 49, 50 and 58 to place twelfth of forty one teams competing.

David Peters Librarian Just a gentle reminder to send note and money for your child’s Year 6 hoodie to the front office by Friday the 13th of April please.

It is compulsory for all children riding bikes and scooters to wear safety helmets. Children who ride bicycles to school will only be permitted to do so if they are wearing a helmet. Parents are reminded that children under 9 years of age should not be riding on the road. We would therefore prefer that Infants children do not ride bikes to school.
