The recreational resort Teplý vrch / Warm Hill / covers the area of 22,291 m2. Its annual attendance is over 100,000 visitors.

The resort consists a reception, tourist hotel, chalets, bunga-lows, caravan site, chalet Slovak, refreshment stands, gazebo, sports equipment rental, waterslide, volleyball court, washroom, showers and toilets.

The recreational facilities are great for school trips, school out-ings, courses, seminars, competitions in diving and other social events.

This recreation center offers many opportunities for visitors like swimming, boating, surfing, watercycling, volleyball, slides, fishing and many other sports and interesting events.

Warmest water reservoir in Slovakia The recreational resort is located in the south-east part of Slova-kia, about 12 kms from the town Rimavska Sobota in the Banská Bystrica region.

Area is located on the east bank of the dam therefore the sun-rays warm up the waterside throughout the day. This provides an abundant greenery located in the area of the resort.

Surface water area is about 1.2 kilometers. The water reservoir is called a warm hill because of its tank that is near the top of a volcanic origin where the temperature is higher than normal inactive volcanoes are.

In the summer months, the water tank sometimes reaches the temperature of 28 degrees. This water reservoir is thus called the warmest water reservoir in Slovakia. Nevertheless, this relatively high temperature of the water reservoir retains a high degree of purity of water throughout the year.

Reception

Access to the recreational resort is possible from two gateways. The first entrance gate is the reception.

Tourist hotel

There is situated a tourist hotel with a capacity of 45 beds plus 10 extra beds. Rooms consist 1, 2, 4 or 6 beds. The hotel is equipped with dining room and kitchen. Toilets and showers are on each floor . There is an extra waterside for the guests.

Cottages

The resort offers accommodation in cottages. There is a complex of 10 cottages which con-sist 4 beds and are equipped with refrigerator, hanger, table, chairs and cupboard. Toilets are located outside the cottages approx. 10 meters.

Bungalows

Alternatively, accommodation is possible in the bungalows which consist rooms with 4 beds.

Camping site

Also, in the recreational resort is a camping site with a capacity of 100 units provided with electric connections. There is a reserved space for caravans and trailers.

Summer house

There is a summer house for visitors in the camping area where 20 people can fit. There are tables and benches for barbecue.

In the resort are situated 6 stalls with fast food which are located throughout the area.

The chalet with a terrace offers various Slovak specialities.

All visitors in the recreational resort can hire sports equipments.

Water slide and volleyball court

There is a water slide with length of 72 meters. Those interested in sporting activities can also use the volleyball court located on the prem-ises.

Shower rooms and toilets

In the area are showers and toilets for visitors. The camp visitors have access from a separate washroom and kitchen.

The recreational resort offers a variety of trips into the vicinity. There are situated many cycling routes and hiking trails.The area is specific with its karst features and together with elements of volcanic and monolithic rocks form a wonderful unique topography of the local landscape.

Among the most beautiful sightseeing trips into the surrounding areas are a natural trail Drienčiansky Karst Forest and preserved large Gothic Road.

There are many villages with rich history and various historical monuments. Noteworthy to mention is certainly an evangelical church with its beautifully preserved works of art-carved wooden altars, pulpit and baptistery. The church Empor has an artwork and painted ceilings which are worth to see.

Neighboring village is Drienčany which is known as the place of a writer, story-teller and folklorist P.E.Dobšinský. The commemo-rative rectory where the artist worked is open daily for public. There is a museum of Slovak tales. The whole village is decorated with carvings fairytale characters of his work.

Especially interesting is his work of art - a sundial which is full of small fairy-tale creatures.

Other well-known people in this site are ....Peaceful environment, beautiful historical monuments, varied flora and fauna attract increasing number of tourists from Slovakia and abroad. The area due to the water tank is the center of summer tourism and relaxation.
