The Policy Committee is

responsible for

reviewing, analyzing, and

presenting fact-based positions

on policies of interest to the

general business community.

Those positions are then

presented to the Board of

Directors and the membership.

For executives with an interest in

policy research and

formulation, involvement in this

Committee is extremely

valuable, as they work to ensure

business has a voice in state

government.

For questions about the Policy

Committee, contact Cassie

Lynn at 615.255.5877 or

The members of the

Membership Committee

are ambassadors of the

Tennessee Business Roundtable

across the state. The Committee

leads the charge on issues of

recruitment, regional meeting

planning, and membership

engagement. For the

executives interested in

cultivating relationships with

other members and who have

an interest in helping grow the

size of TBR, the Membership

Committee is a perfect way to

get involved.

Membership Committee,

The political action

committee (PAC) of the

Tennessee Business

Roundtable is also a non-

partisan organization, separate

from TBR that seeks to support

political candidates who have a

demonstrated record and

platform of supporting pro-

business policy. Executives with

an interest in political fundraising

and developing relationships

with prospective candidates

and elected officials will find

participation in the PAC

worthwhile.

TBR adopts a comprehensive model to develop policy, collaborate, and lead in efforts to

develop and implement policy. A great example of this model is showcased in our

Education Policy agenda. This model will be applied to all other issues outlined in our

Legislative Priorities.

TBR has a major role in developing POLICY PROOF: TBR took a leading role in developing education reform policy, such as the

Tennessee Diploma Project, which set new and higher academic standards in the

classroom and helped paved the way for the nationally recognized First to the Top

legislation, passed in June 2010.

TBR supports COLLABORATIVE efforts PROOF: TBR played an instrumental role in the Complete College Tennessee Act

passed in 2010 and subsequently led The Tennessee College Completion Academies,

bringing together top leadership from Higher Education Institutions across Tennessee.

TBR takes a LEADING role in generating statewide support PROOF: TBR has taken a leadership role in the creation and growth of the Tennessee

Business Education Coalition (TBEC) by bringing the business community together with

political leaders to help improve Tennessee’s public education system.
