Ten Years in the Mix!!! The Kinfolks Soul Food Festival

Soul food cuisine has its roots in the American south and boast a selection of food that is traditional to the taste bud of African-Americans. Kinfolks Foundation, Inc. presents The Kinfolks Soul Food Festival which fuses the tradition of good food, good music, good information, and good times. From April through November the Festival presents Grammy Award-winning current and classic R&B artists.

Although the food and entertainment is the attraction, the purpose of The Kinfolks Soul Food Festival is to unite community-based agencies on-site to educate and inform consumers about health and wellness, financial literacy, workforce development, family intervention and/or voter registration.

The Kinfolks Soul Food Festival is the largest urban festival in the country. Launched in 2006, more than 1,000,000 consumers have attended the Festival. The Festival has been recognized as "Festival of the Year" by the U.S. Department of Commerce.

In 2013 The Kinfolks Soul Food Festival was presented in 10 markets to enormous crowds. 2014 and 2015 marks a monumental milestone as the Festival has increased its footprint at a rate of100% by tactically adding 10 new markets for a total of 20 festivals with marketing and advertising in 115 cities.

About Us

The Kinfolks Foundation, Inc. was founded by Pat Williams and is based in Jacksonville, Florida. The Kinfolks Soul Food Festival was created with the objective of creating a fun environment where people can come together for major entertainment with family and friends and reconnect to long lost friends and classmates while gaining valuable information that will empower them to elevate their way of life.

The Kinfolks Soul Food Festival is an economic generator in that it is responsible for employing more than 200 people in every market on the tour including jobs in production, staging, sound, lighting, event staffing, transportation, street promotions, security, traffic control, EMS, clean up, and more. The Festival attracts attendees within a 3-hour radius and has a direct positive impact on tourism in every market. Additionally, the Festival partners with select non-profit agencies that provide information to attendees pertaining to health and wellness, financial literacy, workforce development, and family intervention.
