Hot wax• Can be more effective on short hair

• Good if client is more sensitive

• Good if client has a lower pain threshold

Hot wax

• Minimise the risk of spreading infection• Minimise contamination with skin or blood-

borne viruses• To minimise the risk• May use single use applicators per client eg

gloves, tissues, spatulas, cotton tips & cotton pads

• Avoid re-dipping• Always wear gloves• Dispose of waste appropriately

Pre waxing products

• Prep skin with lycotane• Pre-Waxing Oil• with Apricot Kernel Oil, Jasmine and Chamomile•

LYCON's unique Pre-Waxing Oil with nourishing essential oils softens and prepares skin prior to all hot and LYCOJET waxing.

• Pre-Waxing Oil prevents wax sticking to skin ensuring it only grips the hairs - minimising skin drag and making waxing comfortable, clean and efficient. Great for dry skins.

• Apply a small amount to cotton rounds, and wipe over treatment area ensuring only minimal amount is on skin.

Post waxing products• These will be the same as for strip waxing

• Perfect finish oil- tea tree/ lavender-antibacterial and anti inflammatory, calming

• Aloe vera soothing gel- soothing and cooling for the more sensitive skin

• Tea tree finish- antibacterial, calms skin

• Hot towel if need be

The hot wax treatment

• Ensure skin is prepared• Powder skin- especially moist areas, underarm, bikini• Test temperature on your wrist first• Apply wax in a backward and forward motion, using

the figure 8 • Ensure application is neat and even• Create a thicker lip where you will lift of the wax

against hair growth• Support the skin prior to removing wax• Soothe immediately afterwards• Continue with application
