And at the dedication of the wall of Jerusalem they sought the Levites out of all their places, to bring them to Jerusalem, to keep the dedication with gladness, both with thanksgivings, and with singing, with cymbals, psalteries, and with harps.

Verse for the Month
V I S I T U S !
raise be to God, from whom all
blessings flow. Again, it's such an
honor to greet you in the marvelous name of Jesus Christ, our S a v i o r / s o o n -coming King. Last
month we celebrated the 87th Church anniversary, carrying on the vision of Deacon John and Mother Annie Mosby. We give thanks unto God also for the faithful members of his family that are yet a part of the legacy daughter, Mother Myrtle
Jackson, several granddaughters, a great grandson/family, several great granddaughters/families, the Temple of Deliverance family, prayer warriors, and many supporters helping to keep the vision alive. Of a truth, had it not been the Lord who was/is on our side, now we say, when men rose up against us, they would've swallowed us quick, when their wrath was kindled against us (Psalm 124:1-2).We truly solicit your continual prayers, as we are striving, by the help of God, to work in His vineyard, in these last days. Amen.

REFRESHMENT
Refreshment means restoring strength, energy and vigor. A light snack is sometimes referred to as a ‘refreshment’. Physical refreshment can also come,
for example, from sleep, rest, or exercise. We can refresh our minds with the word of
the Lord. Psalm 119:121-128 reads, “I have done
judgment and justice: leave me not to mine oppressors. Be
surety for thy servant for good: let not the proud oppress
me. Mine eyes fail for thy salvation, and for the word of
thy righteousness. Deal with thy servant according unto
thy mercy and teach me thy statutes. I am thy servant;
give me understanding, that I may know thy
testimonies. It is time for thee, Lord, to work: for they
have made void thy law. Therefore, I love thy
commandments above gold; yea, above fine
gold. Therefore, I esteem all thy precepts concerning all
things to be right; and I hate every false way.”
Gold is one of the most valuable things this
world affords. It cannot be tarnished. It shines with
a glow like no other metal. Gold is the one metal
that humankind bows down to. Nevertheless, God’s
word is far more valuable than even the finest gold.
The psalmist writes: ‘I love your commands more
than gold, more than pure gold’ (v.127).
The source of the psalmist’s soul refreshment
is God’s words. Earlier in the psalm he said, ‘My
soul is consumed with longing for your laws at all
times … My soul is weary with sorrow; strengthen
me according to your word’ (vv.20,28). Think about
it; God’s words refresh our minds, hearts and souls.
Lord, I thank you so much for how amazing it is to
be refreshed emotionally and spiritually by reading
your words, meditating on them and absorbing them
in my mind, my heart and my soul. A refreshing for
the soul will work wonders in our lives. God bless
you. Be Refreshed today in Jesus.
Temple Elders Speak … Eld. Robert Johnson HANG ON IN THERE
The race is not given to the swift nor the battle to the strong but he that endureth to the end the same shall be saved. Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap. For he that soweth to his flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the spirit shall of the spirit reap life everlasting. And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap if we faint not (Galatians 6:7-9). In all things give thanks; it is the perfect will of God. As we continue to trust God through our tests, trials, and tribulations we are encouraged to hold on to God’s unchanging hands no matter what life brings. In Isaiah 40:28-31 it states , Hast thou not known? hast thou not heard, that the everlasting God, the Lord, the Creator of the ends of the
earth, fainteth not, neither is weary? there is no searching of his understanding. He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increaseth strength. Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall: But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint. When you are going through something that seems impossible, God will give you power and strength to make it through. When the devil throws things at you to hurt, kill or destroy you, then will you have the Word to carry you, and hang on in there, because payday is coming after while!

Why Stress When You Are Blessed? (Fight the Good Fight!)
Praise the Lord! There are a lot of negative things going on in today’s world that are causing many of us great concern. This, in turn, has brought much stress upon many folks who are troubled and perplexed by things like the current political situation, the corruption and confusion within our government and financial markets, and the weakening of longstanding voting rights laws that affect minorities in particular. All of these problems impact our daily lives. In medical terms, stress is defined as how one responds to a demand or threat. Whether the situation is real or imagined, our mind and body’s response is to fight or flee (flight). In order to fight, we must be motivated and have stamina, strength, boldness, courage, faith and assurance. This is positive stress. Flight, on the other hand, is perceived as negative and shows weakness, fear, and cowardliness, with no faith in ourselves or a positive outcome. Negative stress (flight) occurs when an individual is overcome with too many stressors, often at the same time. This causes a person to stress too easily, which undermines his/her mental and physical state. Negative stress can also be a result of low or no self-esteem or confidence; a lack of strength, joy, courage or stamina; an inability to fight negative thoughts and imaginings; and/or no faith in God or His word. All of these can lead to a negative feeling or doubt about oneself or a good outcome of the situation. Consequently, negative stress can cause an individual to turn to alcohol, drugs, and/or gambling and can breed hatred, lying, cursing, stealing, violence and even suicide as a way of escaping (fleeing) problems. Positive stress (fight), in contrast, is a motivator and essential to one’s survival. It tells an individual how to
respond to a situation. This type of stress is characterized by a person’s faith in God and his/her stamina, courage, strength, self-esteem, patience, resilient spirit, and refusal-to-quit attitude. In today’s turbulent times, God is looking for someone to “fight the good fight” and stand firm on His word rather than flee. In order to fight in God’s army, one must not be a cowardly (fleeing) soldier but rather a good soldier capable of enduring hardship. A member of this army must be equipped and filled with the precious gift of the Holy Ghost (sealer and keeper) and endowed with power—a coat of armor. In Ephesians (6:12), “We wrestle not against flesh and blood, but spiritual wickedness in high places.” Without the Holy Ghost we are powerless and living beneath our privilege. God has promised this gift (Acts 2:39) unto you, your children, and to all who are afar off, as many as the Lord our God shall call. Despite all the negative things happening around us, we know that we are a blessed people and a nation who worship and serve a true and living God, who is above all, in all, and through all. As the people of God, we can see the Scripture being fulfilled each and every day of our lives. It is happening right in front of us. In the writings of Apostle Paul in Thessalonians (2 Timothy: 3), he reminds Timothy that, in the last days, there will be perilous times and the love of many will wax cold. We, as believers, know that those times and days are with us now. However, those of us who are born again believers know, and have the assurance that, Jesus not only holds our hand but the future as well. We know that, regardless of the situation in each of our lives, God is in charge. As we approach the harvest season, remember that
the harvest is plenteous, but the labourers are few. Be not
weary in well doing. God is worthy of all praises and thanks
for His many blessings.

After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. 10 Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen. Matt 6:9-13
These Inward Trials by: John Newton
I asked the Lord, that I might grow In faith, and love, and every grace; Might more of His salvation know, And seek more earnestly His face.
T’was He who taught me thus to pray and He I trust has answered prayer,
but it has been in such a way it almost drove me to despair.
I hoped that in some favored hour At once He’d answer my request,
and by His love’s constraining power Subdue my sins and give me rest.
Instead of this, He made me feel
the hidden evils of my heart; And let the angry powers of hell
Assault my soul in every part.
Yea more, with His own hand He seemed Intent to aggravate my woe;
Crossed all the fair designs I schemed, Blasted my gourds, and laid me low.
‘Lord, why is this?’ I trembling cried,
‘Wilt thou pursue Thy worm to death?’ ‘This in this way,’ the Lord replied, ‘I answer prayer for grace and faith.
These inward trials I employ
From self and pride to set thee free; And break thy schemes of earthly joy, That thou mayst seek thy all in Me.’

“Now the God of peace, that brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great shepherd of the sheep, through the blood of the everlasting
covenant, Make you perfect in every good work to do his will, working in you that which is wellpleasing in his sight, through Jesus Christ; to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen” (Hebrews 13:20-21). God is the source of peace. You could be the most stressful person on earth, but God can give you incomprehensible peace. Give your worries to Him. He raised Jesus from the dead. Jesus can certainly give you great peace. Have faith in the Lord and seek after Him. He will give you rest. God will do a great work within you. God bless you!

REVIVAL & HOMECOMING Our Revival and Homecoming events were celebrated from September 4th through 7th and September 9th. The theme was POWER! The services and messages were anointed and life-changing. We give God praise and honor for every message delivered, shared and received. Our revivalist, Bishop Ronald Demery, of Bible Way Washington DC, brought forth the blessed word of God with power on Tuesday through Friday nights. His message topics were: Tuesday: About Last Night-The Supporting Choir: Bible Way Church Evergreen VA, Wednesday: I’m Not Easily Broken-The Supporting Choir: First Bible Way Church Louisa VA, Thursday: Don’t Let Your Fire Go Out-The Supporting Choir: Church of God & True Holiness-Fredericksburg, VA and Friday: I Lost It, But I Got It Back-The Supporting Choir: True Deliverance COOLJC-Bowling Green, VA. What a time, what a time, what a time all week!! Thank you Lord, for the Revival! Homecoming Day (morning), our very own Pastor Lynn Beanum spoke with power the anointed words of life as God shared them with him. His topic was Trusting God’s Plan; I’m Trusting God’s Plan. Read Daniel 6:12,23. He reminded us, “But ye shall receive power after that the Holy Ghost is come upon us.”-Acts 1:8. Pastor Beanum reminded us to put our Trust in God for He will not fail us. He shared the word that our weapon, the Holy Ghost, is mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds. Thank you Jesus for the soul-saving Word of God.
Homecoming Day Elder Leslie Gales, Sr., of God’s Living Word COOLJC-Dumfries VA, brought forth a powerful word from the Lord. His topic was The Holy Ghost Is Still Moving By The Power Of God. Scriptural References were Acts 1:8 and Genesis 1:1-2. Pastor Gales spoke with authority and power. He shared a blessed word that it is better to be with God than to obtain the riches of this world. He also reminded us that we are not our own, but we are bought with a price. Pastor Gales spoke of the Honor in the Holy Ghost which is a HIGH regard for the spirit of Christ. Thank you Jesus, for the Word of God shared during this event and always. To God be ALL the Glory for His Love. Thanks to all who prayed, who spoke, the choirs who sang, and those who attended/assisted in any way to bless the services. May God continue to bless each of you.

Presumptive Living—(Posted) August 1, 2018
“Through the Lord’s mercies we are not consumed, Because His compassions fail not. They are new every morning; Great is Your faithfulness.”—Lamentations
3:22-23
One of the greatest tragedies in life is the tendency to make assumptions about life. I go to sleep each night with the wardrobe set aside, lunch prepared, and plans etched out in my mind for the next day. Intellectually, I recognize the reality that the next day will not occur to some untold people in this world. Yet, at times, I take for granted that tomorrow will occur for me. As natural and man-made disasters loom across the world and the fruit of people's lifelong labor go up in fire, get washed away in a flood, or swept up in a hurricane or tornado, I assume my home will be there each night I return from work. I make the assumption I will make it home from work each day. While accidents, disease, and senseless, random violence take away lives without warning, I assume those people I know, and love will always be there, always protected in their daily a c t i v i t i e s . I suspect I am not alone in those assumptions. Many of us presume God's goodness, mercy and compassion are inherently part of our lives without fail. Perhaps it is not that we take God for granted; we just become so accustomed to God's mercy that we see it as a constant companion that is inseparable from our living. Today's passage reminds us those presumptive things are not to be taken for granted. God's compassions are steadfast and enduring not because of our goodness, but because of God's mercies. In a world fraught with dangers each day and every moment of each day, the presumption that
God will exercise a compassionate hand on our behalf is not a given. It is a presumption. So, what should be our response to that reality? By no means should we stumble about in a perpetual state of fear of something going wrong in life, a concern that tragedy is about to strike, nor that family and friends may be whisked away from us without warning. Instead, we should recognize the fragility of life and be ever mindful of why the tragedy that could happen to us does not happen; because of God's mercy. Today's passage is not a lament about what is wrong or what could go wrong. It is a declaration of praise to God for divine mercy, grace and compassion that is renewed and repackaged as a totally unique gift every morning. Our response shouldn't be fear or anxiety, but p r a i s e a n d t h a n k s g i v i n g . Today, every day, take the time to recognize and give glory and praise to God for the gift that is not owed to us, but the gift God compassionately wraps up and sets before us every moment of every day. Be ever mindful of God's gift of grace, mercy and compassion. Lesson to Remember: God awakens us each day, not out of a sense of obligation but as a proof of divine love. “I will remember the works of the Lord; Surely I will remember Your wonders of old. I will also meditate on all Your work, And talk of Your deeds.”—Psalm 77:11-12

In the book of Job in the Old Testament we read about a godly man who lost everything he owned and all his children in a serious of disasters. As if that was not sufficient suffering, he was afflicted with a horrible disease. Do you ever wonder, dear Christian caregiver, why God has allowed the illness of your loved one for whom you are caring? Have you ever wondered why you have to go through all the heartaches and challenges of caring for your ill or disabled loved one? Have you ever wondered why you, a child of God, has to endure these trials? In the book of Job in the Old Testament, Job, began to ask these questions. God responded to Job in chapter 42. In effect God says, “Who are you to question My ways and My plans? Why should you question Me without knowledge, without understanding My wisdom? You have no right to question Me. Your knowledge is too limited to understand My ways. You do not have My power and wisdom.” Later Job said to God that he had spoken of things that were far beyond his understanding. These were things only God could understand, and Job repented of questioning God’s ways. I do not understand why my husband was afflicted with his devastating neurological disease. I do
not know why he had to go through the disabilities and indignities of his disease. I do not know why I had to go through all the heartaches of being his caregiver and eventually losing him to death. However, I must trust God that He knew what He was doing, no matter how difficult life became during those years The Bible reminds us that we can trust in the Lord, for He has not forsaken and never will forsake us. His ways are perfect even when we do not understand His ways. He is our shield, and we can take refuge in Him. I can trust in Him and not be afraid of what the future holds. Even in difficult times He is my strength and song. I do know that I have been strengthened in my faith, and my relationship with the Lord is more precious than ever because of all that has happened to me. God has been my help and support through it all. I needed and still need to trust in Him alone. I don’t understand all God’s ways; but I do know He is a wise, faithful, and loving God. I do know that He is worthy of my trust. Christian caregiver, you do not know what the future holds for you and your loved one, but you do know that the Lord God holds your future. You may not understand His ways, but He asks you to trust Him. His ways are not always your ways, but He
knows what He is doing in what He allows in your life. Rest in Him.
