20 years ago, in May 1997, the International Society for
Telemedicine was officially founded in the margin of the 3rd
International Conference on the Medical Aspects of
Telemedicine, held in Kobe (Japan)
You can find a detailed history of the founding of our

Frank Lievens (left) holds the original minutes recorded at the two meetings
in Kobe (Japan) at which the Society was founded, on May 30 and 31,
1997, and Dr. Guy Harris, founding Secretary, holds the conference bag
