Possible carreers include; Network Systems and Data Communication Analyst Broadcast /Cable Television Management Satellite and Wireless Communication Manager Internet and Software Project Manager Telecommunications and IT Marketing Telecommunications Policy Analyst Telecommunications and IT Sales International Satellite Common Carriage Specialist Information Technology Specialist Telecommunications and IT Project Manager Network Systems and Security Administrator Telecommunications and IT Project Manager Electronic Commerce Design Specialist Media and Advanced Technology Support Administrator LAN / WAN Support Specialist Telecommunications & Information Management Major e interdisciplinary major in Telecommunications & Information Management (TIM) is offered through the School of Com- munication, Computer Information Systems (CIS) program, Department of Business Information Systems, and the Haworth College of Business. e TIM major is designed to train students in a variety of telecommunications and information technology based subdisciplines, including cable television, telephony, data base management, network operations, satellite and wireless and Internet communication. e TIM major offers a 21st century approach to the study of telecommunications and information technology by combining people and resources across the greater WMU campus. Working together, Communication and CIS offer prospective majors a uniquely designed program that supports the larger mission of being a student-centered research uni- versity. Graduating students will receive a Bachelor of Arts degree from the College of Arts & Sciences or a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from the Haworth College of Business. Admission to the TIM major is competitive based on overall grade point average, grades in Communication and CIS classes, and an application. To be considered, you must have completed Com 1000 and Com 2400 with a grade of C or better; have an overall GPA of 2.50 and have completed 30 hours at Western Michigan University (for transfer students, at least 15 hours at Western). Application deadlines are September 15, January 15 and May 15 annually.

TheinterdisciplinarymajorinTelecommunications&InformationManagement(TIM)isofferedthroughtheSchoolofCom-munication,ComputerInformationSystems(CIS)program,DepartmentofBusinessInformationSystems,andtheHaworthCollegeofBusiness.TheTIMmajorisdesignedtotrainstudentsinavarietyoftelecommunicationsandinformationtechnologybasedsubdisciplines,includingcabletelevision,telephony,databasemanagement,networkoperations,satelliteandwirelessandInternetcommunication.TheTIMmajoroffersa21stcenturyapproachtothestudyoftelecommunicationsandinformationtechnologybycombiningpeopleandresourcesacrossthegreaterWMUcampus.Workingtogether,CommunicationandCISofferprospectivemajorsauniquelydesignedprogramthatsupportsthelargermissionofbeingastudent-centeredresearchuni-versity.GraduatingstudentswillreceiveaBachelorofArtsdegreefromtheCollegeofArts&SciencesoraBachelorofBusinessAdministrationdegreefromtheHaworthCollegeofBusiness.
