Say Good Night, Grace ETravelers seeking TranquiliTy will find it aboard Grace E, a 240-foot yacht from naval architect and designer

Philippe Briand’s Vitruvius Yachts. The sundeck serves as a health spa, and the diesel-electric propulsion system enables

the yacht, which was built by Perini Navi’s Picchiotti division and delivered in September, to cruise in near silence.

Among other amenities, the sundeck contains a massage room with a wet-and-dry sauna and a mediation

room. Whether they are ruminating in the meditation room, watching a movie from the Kaleidescape

library in the skylounge, or lounging in the main-deck saloon, guests will not be disturbed

by the yacht’s electric power plant. When the system is producing enough energy

to propel the yacht at 14 knots, the noise level in the saloon reaches just

45.5 decibels, which is about as loud as it is in a library. The propulsion

system is also efficient enough to give Grace E a range

of about 5,500 nautical miles, enabling the yacht

to provide peace of mind as well as peace

and quiet.

AwArd worthy ❖ The upper-deck skylounge, an informal area featuring a marble sushi bar on one side and a wraparound sofa on the other, reflects interior designer Rémi Tessier’s preference for large open spaces with contemporary

decor. His work on the interior earned Grace E a Baccarat Trophy at September’s Monaco Yacht Show, where the yacht debuted. The space is equipped with a pair of drop-down TVs connected to a Kaleidescape library of movies. Forward of the lounge is a beauty

salon where guests can receive facials, pedicures, and manicures.

Modern AppeAl ❖ The contemporary design of Grace E’s main saloon includes tables made of onyx and ebony, stainless-steel accents, and a large-scale

Jasper Johns print. Here and throughout much of the interior, the ceiling is covered with palladium leaf. In addition to being a decorative element, the shiny, silvery metal helps to

illuminate the room by reflecting the ceiling’s cove lighting. The saloon’s windows are framed with high-gloss ebony, and the blinds are made of white leather.

Suite dreAMS ❖ The full-beam master suite is located on the main deck, in front of the two VIP suites. The four other guest cabins are on the lower deck. Each suite and cabin has an

en suite bathroom with a shower. The master suite measures about 1,000 square feet and includes two walk-in closets, a study, two showers, and an expansive soaking tub made of stone. The wall

paneling is made from sycamore that has been sandblasted, bleached, and polished.

All well And Good ❖ Grace E’s owners envisioned a spa at sea, and Briand accommodated their wishes by designing the 2,500-square-foot sundeck as a wellness

area. It includes a hydrotherapy room containing a cold plunge pool (above right). The deck also has a gym, a hammam-style steam room, and the aforementioned meditation room, where guests

can clear their minds while enjoying a 180-degree view of the sea. The deck can be accessed by an elevator (above left), which is encased in glass shot with decorative gold thread.

reSt or recreAtion ❖ The sundeck’s seating pods (above) protect their occupants from the sun and from any wind not already blocked by the transparent shield

that surrounds the seating area. The deck’s exterior (right, top) also includes a hot tub and six sun pads. Aft on the main

deck (right, bottom), guests can get a rigorous or light workout in the 11.5-foot counter-current swimming pool. The tender

garage (below) houses two tenders and four personal watercraft. It also contains kayaks, wakeboards,

paddleboards, and snorkeling gear.
