It has been a yearly tradition that the candi-dates to First Communion are presented to the pa-rishioners on their second year of preparation; even thought, this year, it might be a little different, we have decided to continue with this tradition. During the presentation of the candidates all the parishioners and their family members may pray

for the students to continue opening their hearth to the Lord. This year there are 34 candidates to First Holy Communion. We kindly remind parents to call the

rectory to make your reservations to attend Mass on this day.

Durante la presentación de los candidatos todos los feligreses y sus familiares podrán orar pa-ra que los estudiantes sigan abriendo sus corazones al Señor. Twenty-eighth Sunday in Ordi-

nary Time MT 22:1-14

Jesus again in re-ply spoke to the chief priests and elders of the peo-ple in parables, say-ing,

"The kingdom of heaven may be likened to a king who gave a wedding feast for his son. He dispatched his servants to summon the invited guests to the feast, but they refused to come. A second time he sent other servants, saying, ‘Tell those invited: “Behold, I have prepared my banquet, my calves and fattened cattle are killed, and everything is ready; come to the feast.”’ Some ignored the invitation and went away, one to his farm, another to his business. The rest laid hold of his servants, mistreated them, and killed them. The king was enraged and sent his troops, destroyed those murderers, and burned their city. Then he said to his servants, 'The feast is ready, but those who were invited were not worthy to come. Go out, therefore, into the main roads and invite to the feast whomever you find.’ The servants went out into the streets and gathered all they found, bad and good alike, and the hall was filled with guests. But when the king came in to meet the guests, he saw a man there not dressed in a wedding gar-ment. The king said to him, 'My friend, how is it that you came in here without a wedding gar-ment?' But he was reduced to silence. Then the king said to his attendants, 'Bind his hands and feet, and cast him into the darkness outside, where there will be wailing and grinding of teeth.’ Many are invited, but few are chosen."

Saint Teresa of Jesus (1515-1582)

October 15 Let nothing disturb you; let nothing frighten you. Gifted with a passionate spirit, young Teresa dreamed of converting Muslims and becoming a mar-tyr. All things are passing; God never changes. But her mother’s

death when Teresa was fourteen inspired lifelong de-votion to Our Lady, and Teresa entered the Carmelites, Mary’s order, despite her father’s objections and her own fragile health. Patience gains everything. Initially, she enjoyed her lax convent’s sociability and “busyness,” but mystical prayer and John of the Cross’s collaboration inspired her to reform the Car-melites. Whoever has God, lacks nothing. When her ideals encountered resistance and brought suffering, she maintained her peace-—and humor. Discovered devouring leftovers, she told her mildly scandalized nuns, “When I fast, I fast! When I eat, I eat!” To nuns demanding less work and more prayer in the convent schedule, she retorted: “What we really need around here are fewer starry eyes and more strong arms!” God alone is enough! SANTA TERESA DE ÁVILA (1515-1582) 15 de octubre Teresa nació en Ávila, España, en una familia rica y de fe pro-funda. A los siete años quería ser mártir por amor a Dios. No obs-tante, a los 12 soñaba con el amor y el ro-mance para su vida,

pero unos años después, la muerte de su madre y una enfermedad le hicieron cambiar. A los 20 años se hizo carmelita y 18 años después, debido a la co-modidad de la vida de monasterio, apoyada en una visión mística, consideró necesaria una reforma. Ba-jo la llamada de Dios y la ayuda de su director espi-ritual, san Juan de la Cruz, junto con otras dieciséis hermanas emprendió la reforma de la Orden Carme-lita formando una comunidad más estricta en la que se vivía en absoluta pobreza, se comía del trabajo fruto de la costura, se vivía en oración y se dormía en petates. Siendo superiora fue inigualable en el amor y el servicio a la comunidad. Sus escritos, así como su experiencia mística, fueron profundos. Pa-ra ella, “sólo Dios basta”, nada más. XXVIII Domingo ordi-nario

Mt 22, 1-14

En aquel tiempo, volvió Jesús a hablar en parábolas a los sumos sacerdotes y a los ancia-nos del pueblo, dicien-do: “El Reino de los cie-los es semejante a un rey que preparó un banquete

de bodas para su hijo. Mandó a sus criados que lla-maran a los invitados, pero éstos no quisieron ir. Envió de nuevo a otros criados que les dije-ran: ‘Tengo preparado el banquete; he hecho matar mis terneras y los otros animales gordos; todo está listo. Vengan a la boda’. Pero los invitados no hicie-ron caso. Uno se fue a su campo, otro a su negocio y los demás se les echaron encima a los criados, los insultaron y los mataron. Entonces el rey se llenó de cólera y mandó sus tropas, que dieron muerte a aquellos asesinos y prendieron fuego a la ciudad. Luego les dijo a sus criados: ‘La boda está preparada; pero los que habían sido invitados no fue-ron dignos. Salgan, pues, a los cruces de los caminos y conviden al banquete de bodas a todos los que en-cuentren’. Los criados salieron a los caminos y reunieron a todos los que encontraron, malos y bue-nos, y la sala del banquete se llenó de convidados. Cuando el rey entró a saludar a los convida-dos vio entre ellos a un hombre que no iba vestido con traje de fiesta y le preguntó: ‘Amigo, ¿cómo has entrado aquí sin traje de fiesta?’ Aquel hombre se quedó callado. Entonces el rey dijo a los criados: ‘Átenlo de pies y manos y arrójenlo fuera, a las tinie-blas. Allí será el llanto y la desesperación. Porque muchos son los llamados y pocos los escogidos”.

DIOS SE REVELA A LAS NACIONES ¡Qué maravillosas imágenes tenemos hoy del Reino de Dios! Isaías nos habla de un gran banquete –un banquete celestial– una fiesta con abundancia de platillos suculentos y vinos exquisitos. Es una cele-bración del mismo Señor, explica Isaías, cuando Di-os unirá a todas las naciones, secará toda lágrima, y destruirá la muerte para siempre. Entonces, también,

la tierra entera se regocijará en el Señor y se deleita-rá en la gracia salvadora de Dios. Jesús, asimismo, habla del Cielo en términos de una fiesta. Aquí, el Reino de los cielos es como el banquete de bodas que el rey ofrece para su hijo. Es también un festín de abundancia, donde ofrece terneros gordos. Pero muchos de los invitados no quieren asistir, así que el rey invita a cualquiera que quiera honrar a su hijo con su presencia. A PRAYER FOR PROTECTION IN TIME OF PANDEMIC

O Mary, you always brighten our path as a sign of salvation and of hope. We entrust ourselves to you, Health of the Sick, who, at the Cross,

took part in Jesus’ pain while remaining steadfast in faith. O loving Mother, you know what we need, and weareconfident you will

providefor us asat Canain Galilee. Intercedefor us with your Son Jesus, the Divine Physician, for those who have fallen ill, for those who are

vulnerable, and for those who have died. Intercede also for thosecharged with protecting

the health and safety of others and for those who aretending to the sick and seeking acure.

Help us, O Mother of Divine Love, to conform to the will of the Father and to do as weare told by Jesus, who took upon himself our sufferings

and carried our sorrows, so as to lead us, through the Cross, to the glory of the

Resurrection. Amen Our Mather of Czestochowa - pray for us.

XXVIII Niedziela zwykła Jezus w przypowieściach mówił do arcykapłanów i starszych ludu: «Królestwo niebieskie podobne jest do króla, który wyprawił ucztę weselną swemu synowi. Posłał więc swoje sługi, żeby zaproszonych zwołali na ucztę, lecz ci nie chcieli przyjść. Posłał jeszcze raz inne sługi z poleceniem: „Powiedzcie zaproszonym: Oto przygotowałem moją ucztę; woły i tuczne zwierzęta ubite i wszystko jest gotowe. Przyjdźcie na ucztę!” Lecz oni zlekceważyli to i odeszli: jeden na swoje pole, drugi do swego kupiectwa, a inni pochwycili jego sługi i znieważywszy, pozabijali. Na to król uniósł się gniewem. Posłał swe wojska i kazał wytracić owych zabójców, a miasto ich spalić. Wtedy rzekł swoim sługom: „Uczta weselna wprawdzie jest gotowa, lecz zaproszeni nie byli jej godni. Idźcie więc na rozstajne drogi i zaproście na ucztę wszystkich, których spotkacie”. Słudzy ci wyszli na drogi i sprowadzili wszystkich, których napotkali: złych i dobrych. I sala weselna zapełniła się biesiadnikami. Mt 22, 1-10

OKTOBERFEST

Czy masz ochotę na placki ziemniaczane, ale nie chce Ci się obierać, ścierać i smażyć ziemniaków? A może masz ochotę na coś bardziej konkretnego na przykład placek

po zbójnicku. Już dziś zapraszamy na nasz parafialny Oktoberfest, który odbędzie się w niedzielę 18-go października . Właśnie za dwa tygodnie będziemy sprzedawali placki ziemniaczane, placki po zbójnicku, grochówkę, tradycyjną polską kiełbasę z kapustą i pizzę. Będziemy również mieli smaczne wypieki oraz napoje chłodzące i polskie piwo. Spędźmy razem czas w gronie rodziny parafialnej, gdzie oprócz smacznego jedzenia będzie też miła atmosfera!

Październik miesiąc modlitwy Różańcowej.

RÓŻANIEC ze swej natury jest modlitwą pokoju z racji samego faktu, że polega na kontemplowaniu Chrystusa, który jest Księciem Pokoju i « naszym pokojem » (Ef 2, 14). Kto przyswaja sobie misterium Chrystusa - a różaniec właśnie do tego prowadzi - dowiaduje się, na czym polega sekret pokoju, i

przyjmuje to jako życiowy projekt. Ponadto, mocą swego charakteru medytacyjnego, przez spokojne następowanie po sobie kolejnych « Zdrowaś Maryjo », różaniec wywiera na modlącego się kojący wpływ, który usposabia go do przyjmowania i doświadczania w głębi swego jestestwa oraz do szerzenia wokół siebie tego prawdziwego pokoju, który jest szczególnym darem Zmartwychwstałego (por. J 14, 27; 20, 21)... ...Rodzina, która modli się zjednoczona, zjednoczona pozostaje. Różaniec święty zgodnie z dawną tradycją jest modlitwą, która szczególnie sprzyja gromadzeniu się rodziny. Kierując wzrok na Jezusa, poszczególni jej członkowie odzyskują na nowo również zdolność patrzenia sobie w oczy, by porozumiewać się, okazywać solidarność, przebaczenie…

Uproś nam prawdziwą bojaźń Bożą i taką miłość, jakiej nasz Ojciec Niebieski od nas oczekuje. Święta Jadwigo, bądź naszą opiekunką w każdym dniu i pospiesz nam ze szczególną pomocą w godzinie naszej śmierci. Amen.
