Pink, born Alecia Beth Moore, the singer-songwriterand musician from Philadelphia, has been throughsome tough times in her life... but here she is stillstanding strong! It seems she has everything she couldwant; a ‘hot’ husband, gorgeous baby daughter and astrong music career... What more can a girl ask for.

Her dad, a Vietnam veteran, along with Madonna andJanis Joplin had a big influence on pinks music ca-reer. He taught her to play the guitar and piano alongwith teaching her to write songs. Even though pinksearly childhood ambition was to be an Olympic gym-nast, the influence from her father started a growingpassion in pink and she started performing in Phila-delphia clubs from the age of 13. Pink admits she wasextreme, going through phases from skateboarder tohip-hopper to rave child to lead singer in a rock band.Pink was part of several bands before she decided tomake her career as a solo artist and make an albumwith LaFace records in 2000.Pinks mother and father divorced when she wasyoung which is a big thing for any child to have to gothrough, but she wrote lyrics as an outlet for her feel-ings. Her mother commented that ‘her initial writings

were always very introspective. Some of it was veryblack, and very deep, almost worrisome’.

Pink has made six albums in total, all completely dif-ferent from her last. It was released April 4th 2000Her second album ‘Missundaztood’ was again a hugesuccess.. Pinks third albumcalled ‘try this’ was released on November 11, 2003.‘I’m not dead’ was released in April 2006 through La-Face Records and was a substantial success through-out the world, particularly in Australia. The albumreached the top ten in the U.S., the top five in theUK, number one in Germany, and sat at number onein Australia for two non-consecutive weeks.Her fifth album ‘funhouse’ contains the song ‘so what’expressing her feelings towards a recent breakupwith Carey hart in 2006. Her and Carey later gotback together in 2010.Pink said that ‘I didn't want to be one of those artiststhat gets up and sings love songs they don't mean. Idecided that I was going to be me to the fullest extent,that my songs were going to reflect relationships I'vehad, things I've been through, and even the stuff I'membarrassed about.’ This definitely shows in her fiveamazing albums.Her sixth album, ‘The truth about love’ has recentlybeen released after the birth of her daughter willow.She has been working hard!
