CARACTERÍSTICAS DEL YESO

Una de las fundamentales es la de su capacidad de aislamientotérmico. Su coeficiente de penetración térmica (Que está enfunción del coeficiente de conductividad térmica, del calorespecífico y de la densidad), es muy bajo, similar al deLos materiales considerados cálidos (Madera, corcho, etc.).

Otras de sus cualidades es la de que evita los fenómenos decondensación superficial y la humectación de las habitaciones,gracias a su poder de absorción del agua (Higroscopia). Suestructura le permite a de mas acumular gran cantidad de aguacuando la concentración de esta en el ambiente es alta, ydevolverla cuando este se reseca, consiguiendo mantener ungrado de humedad estable, por lo que es todo un reguladornatural.

En cuanto a su comportamiento ante el fuego, es de inerciatotal, ya que es completamente incombustible (ClasificaciónMO). Por otra parte no emana gases tóxicos, solo vapor deagua, siendo esta cualidad la que le permite que la temperaturadel material no exceda de los 100 º C, durante cuatro horas.

Respecto a su comportamiento acústico, este es bueno, tantopor su capacidad de absorción de los ruidos producidos porimpactos, como por la baja transmisión de los mismos, ya querompe la onda sonora impidiendo su progresión y avance.

Finalmente, no hay que perder de vista el hecho de que elyeso es un material ecológico.

ATTRIBUTES OF THE PLASTER

One of the main attributes of this product it is its thermal isolation.We have to realize that its degree of thermal penetration (whichis dependant on the density of the components), is very low,similar to materials considered as warm (wood, cork, etc.)

Another of its attributes is the prevention of superficialcondensation and dampness within rooms, due to its power ofabsorption of water (higroscopy). Its structure also allows it tohold a large capacity of water, when it is highly concentratedin the atmosphere, and return it when the atmosphere becomesdrier. Hence, plaster stabilizes the humidity of the area, actingas a natural regulator.

A further characteristic is the fact that it is fire-resistant (MOclassified-highest degree of resistance against fire). The materialdo not emanate toxic gases, only steam, and for this reasonit does not allow the material to exceed 100 º C for period ofup to 4 hours.

Regarding to the excellent sound proofing characteristics, it isowed to its capacity to absorb sound produced from impactand its low transmission levels, due to the material stops theprogressions of the sound waves.
