Since explorers are constantly travelling by sleds and aircrafts they need to be light and fit. Their food and meals need to be quickly and easily prepared in order to save fuel.

The supplies consists freeze dried or dried main meals, different types of dried soups, dried vegetables, rice, tea, coffee, hot chocolate, orange juice, biscuits, chocolate, butter sugar porridge and dried milk.

At parties they have a “goodies box” Which may contain herbs, spices and even Ketchup! Snow is melted to make water. The water is very clean. Cooking is done on paraffin fired primus stoves.http://www.antarctica.ac.uk/living_and_working/daily_life/food.php
