Consumer market and new services evolution have driven the satellite industry to provide high throughput rates and support new market sectors.
High Throughput Satellite (HTS) demonstrate significant increase in capacity using high level frequency re-use and spot beam technology, and often target the consumer market, while delivering services comparable to terrestrial offerings in terms of pricing and bandwidth.
Advantech Wireless approach to HTS systems focuses on maximizing throughput of wideband transponders of HTS satellites while providing the flexibility to adapt the Gateway to support arange of different service offerings such as Internet access and video broadcast while providing low cost terminals.

The Advantech Wireless Millennium high capacity VSAT hub was developed to meet the needs of very large VSAT net-works typically operating on High Throughput Satellites (HTS). The Millennium modular design is easily expanded as net-work size increases. It is ideally suited for Network Operators and Service Providers. Scalability allows CAPEX expendi-tures to match network growth. Virtual Network Operator (VNO) capability allows support of numerous virtual operators. VPN (Virtual Private Network) capability provides secure communications for sensitive information transfers.
A single rack can be configured to support upwards of 20,000 remote terminals and can support 1.71 Gbps of traffic to the remotes, spread across up to 6 different beams and 6 DVB-S2 carriers. This single rack can also receive up to 576 Mbps of IP traffic generated by the remote terminal population in the DVB-RCS2 mode.
The Millennium Hub is designed to operate with satellites on any frequency band (Ku, Ka, X, C-Band) and will support all of Advantech Wireless family of Remote Routers (terminals), known as SITs (Satellite Interactive Terminals) including the latest Series 7000 and 8000 families of VSAT Routers. Star, star/mesh hybrid MF-TDMA, BM-FDMA, A-SAT-IITM and high-capacity SCPC are all supported in the Millennium Hubs.
