Techno modular system is manufactured by Elsteel, a

globally recognized Danish manufacturer of modular

enclosures. IPD has a long-standing relationship with

Elsteel and has been providing the Techno modular

solution to electrical sites across Australia for over 25

years. IPD’s national presence has ensured that the

Techno system is widely known across consultants

and end users all over Australia.

SOFTWARE RESOURCES

Designing compliant switchboards around the Techno system is made easy with many software tools

available. IPD’s software tools can broadly be categorised into two areas:

Easy Designing

iCAD and iDraft are CAD-based software used to

create isometric layouts of switchboards. With these

layouts, users can generate assembly drawings,

parts lists and prices.

iCAD & iDraft Plug-ins

A choice of software to do layouts, drawings and produce bills of material along with parts lists, costs and assembly times.

Software tools to assist in designing switchboards in accordance with Techno design verified test reports and options available under the new AS/NZS 61439 standards.

A CAD-based drawing tool that helps switchboard

builders prepare their drawings accurately. Front,

side and internal views can be drawn with a high level

of accuracy to include cutouts and holes for door

mounted and internal equipment.

iDraw


iCon is designed to assist consultants and project

designers to estimate Techno switchboard sizes

accurately with just a few basic inputs in compliance

with AS/NZS 61439 standards.

iTherm, IPD's Temperature Rise Calculation software

is based on AS 60890-2009 and enables users to

conduct temperature rise verification efficiently.

The software is particularly useful in conducting

Verification of Temperature Rise by Assessment in

accordance with the new AS/NZS 61439 standards.

iTherm

This is a tool to aid in the selection of circuit breakers

and busbars based on the extensive type testing and

design verification reports on the Techno system.

This helps in preparing compliance documentation to

support the switchboard builder (the Assembly

Manufacturer), which ensures that the design of the

switchboard is in line with tested and design verified

arrangements.

iSelector

SOFTWARE RESOURCES

Techno Module Designer is a Windows-based software

package that allows users to do layouts quickly. Internal

views including busbar arrangements are available for

the assembler to understand the design. The software

also allows the user to produce 2D and 3D drawings

with bills of materials and prices.

all bolted together with captive screws to ensure rigidity and good earthing

This advanced design provides enhanced plant and operator safety by diverting any gases to the top away from the operator

The space in the electrical room is optimised by not having to provide isolation areas around the switchboard

All products used in the design are standard stock lines which does not affect design changes or lead times

PRODUCT INFORMATION

The Techno system has been tested for internal arcing fault containment to both the relevant AS/NZS and

IEC standards. The overpressure is safely dissipated by using specially designed filters and vented out via

chimneys installed at the top of the switchboard while still maintaining the IP rating. The advantages of
